lap band
vesta check on the lap band site. from what i understand the weight loss is a whole lot slower and of course there isnt any dumping from eating things. you can still have sweets , and anything else you want. no restrictions since there isnt any rerouting of the intestis. but all of this is why i chose the rny. at my age of 65 i didnt want to take 2 years to get the weight off. and i wanted to restrictions of not being able to eat certain things. lol I know me and know that i got fat because i ate all the wrong things. and too much so this way i have both of them covered. lol But if you are thinking to change you need to call and talk to Dena or Marge or Dr. H tomorrow. and dont wait. Vesta,
Of course it is up to you to make the final decision but let me tell you why I've decided to go with Roun en y.
1.lap band is a foreign object that your body may reject
2.one of the possible side effects of lap band is little or no weight loss/or weight gain
3.refills are costly and they stick a needle in a port under your skin--OUCH
4.your stomach can grow around the band and it will have to be remove
5.I have read so many profiles and met people who had lap band and went back for Roun en y because they just didn't lose the weight or couldn't keep it off
6.My doctor explained like this(he does both surgeries)he said if you don't have as much weight to lose and have very good will power the lap band may be the right choice for you/but how many of us have will power??
7. I need a tool that bosses me around//it tells me what and how much I can eat
8. I want surgery one time -I don't want to regret my choice and have to go back to get roun en y --Hope this helps ,Dannielle
