Just wondering, and be HONEST!!!
How many of you "sampled" something when it wasn't that time in the diet? If you did, what stage of the diet were you on, and what did you "sample"? I made some carrots, chicken, and cheese rice for my family and the chicken was calling my name. I did really good at first. I played on the computer while everyone else ate. I went back in the kitchen after everyone was done so I could do the dishes and I couldn't help myself. I had the smallest bite of chicken I could pull off. That was over an hour ago. I didn't get sick, but I feel like I have cheated myself. It tasted so good (almost sinful), lol. I just was wondering if anyone else has done this. Please help me feel better, lol!!!!
LOL Kat!!....you want everyone to make feel better or tell you the truth? LOL hun...I'm sure they have but I personally aren't there yet but after reading your post I had to write and give ya some grief...lol
Just remember, not of us are perfect and we all do what we have to, to make it through! Don't cheat too much...don't want ya getting sick...I know easy for me to say, I'm not there yet.....but you can remind me of this when I do get there...lol Deb M.
This really made me giggle out loud. I coulnd't help it. I guess you can say it is a little of both. It hasn't been to hard when it comes to the food, except on the liquid stage. That almost "killed" me. Dinner has always been a big family thing here. We all sat at the table and talked. I find it very hard to sit there and watch everyone eat. I haven't wanted anything outside my diet until it came to the chicken. (Oh, yeah, let's not forget the corndog). It is mostly out of curiosity, I guess.....
Kat, Chicken I could see, but I want to know what happened with the corndogs?! Now that would be cheating!
Just kidding. I am sure a lot of people have and then there will be some who are true thru and thru. I have always been a nibbler and taster as you can tell by the way I look, but I am sure it will probally take a long time for me to get over that when my time comes.Julia

Isn't there a saying about craving or wanting what we can't have? Dinner was a biggy here to, kids are all grown now but some of our most memorial moments were made at that big ol table...same as when I was a kid! Not too many good ones with my parents but us 5 kids, man....we would laugh until we cried! Every once in awhile Mom would holler from her room (she would be on the phone)...you kids better be getting that food ate...we would lower our laughier, cover our mouths, snicker and point at each other saying it was their fault and within a few minutes we would be laughing again....til milk was coming out the nose, or someone laugh tiil they choked! We laughed til it hurt but some of those times were the best and I remember them like they were yesterday!
Hi Kat,
Please be careful. Remember you're still healing. I did sample certain things that weren't on my food list, but i stayed in the same general food type. Like when I was still on liquid, I sampled a bite of mashed potatoes. I have NO willpower which is why I gained so much weight to begin with. This is a great time for you to practice learning control. Once you can eat a lot more and different foods, you will... take advantage of this time to lose the most weight you'll lose.
Hang in there!
Tracey
I have tried some things and no problems except for 1...it caused dumping which I believe I needed to have happen so my brain would realize what my body already knows...even though I think I can eat, I can't have whatever I want. It is really hard for me most days. I haven't been able to stomach much of the high protein stuff, so I am having a hard time getting enough protein but I am trying to. I almost always feel hungry, but haven't given in to it. If I am "overly" hungry, I grab a piece of cheese as a snack, but not too often. My weight loss is ok, not as much as I thought it would be, but as long as I am still losing I figure it is ok. Honestly I can't wait to see the dr next week for my 4 wk follow up and get an "official" weight loss.
I would say keep doing the right thing, but also keep in mind that experimenting may lead to dumping, and it is truly an awful thing to have happen.
