St Charles/St. louis area PCP

Hello everyone, I have been researching WLS for several years now. I finally decided recently I'm going to go for it. I was going to approach it with my PCP, however, we just got a letter in the mail saying my PCP is quitting practice in two weeks, so I will be looking for a new PCP. Anyone have any recommendations for a PCP in the St. Louis area (I'm in St. Charles). I hate going to the doctor as it is, I don't want to find a doctor who isn't very "fat friendly" or who is totally against WLS and won't recommend it. Any suggestions? I don't know where else to look for this info. Thanks.

Hi Crystal. First of all, Welcome to the Board!!! Like you, I had to get a new pcp for the surgery. Mine was because my old pcp was totally against surgery. I found a wonderful pcp who was all for the surgery, which I brought up the first time I met him. His name is Dr. J. Gavin Helton. He is at the intersection of Barrett Station Rd. and Manchester Rd. (that is just west of highway 270 on Manchester Rd.). His phone number is 314-821-1313. I really like him. Deanna

I don't know if it is too far but I had the same problem with my doctor not wanting to help me out. I go to Dr. Rybicki at Washington University/Barnes in the CWE.

My Pcp is in st. peters, Dr. Daniel Parker. He is off of Mexico Road in the Urgent Care Center at Piper Hill Dr. If you are interested, I will give you his phone number.
