Hello all!!! I just had the lapband done on 2-13-07 and am having a lot of gas and burping. Is there anything anyone suggests to take to calm it down? Hope everyone else is well and good luck to those who are about to have it. Jeanette Santucci

Jeanette S. The best thing is walk, walk, walk. I had RNY but my doctor had me on Precid for 3 months to help the gas. I think some on here use GasX strips. Hope this helps. Welcome to the loser bench. Kathleen

The Gas X may help, but not as well as moving around. When you had the surgery, they pumped gas in to expand the cavity to have room to work. The body "absorbs" the gases in about 2 weeks, but until then, it can become trapped and really painful. Just keep moving and you should be better soon.

Thank you all for the tips! I am walking more each day and trying to do for myself. Trying not to use the pain meds as much as the first 2 days. I am excited that I am now on "The Losers Bench"
