i got my surgery date

thanks to everyone one here, because u all have been a major support even if u dont know it. i recieved a call last night after 9 pm, it was Dr. H's nurse with my surgery date.....May 10th, the only thing i have a history of ulcers so at the pretesting i get to be put to sleep and scoped to, which is fine with me but it does cause one more hurdle...i'am a single mom of 2 teenage sons, and no family or friends where i'm at, so i'm gonna have to come up with a ride home after testing, and i'am truely blessed thats the hardest issue i have to deal with now. good luck to everyone and my prayers are with u all.

Ricki, That's great! That is my son's birthday and the day before mine. Where do you live? Are you close to Sedalia? I am about 15 miles from there. Take care, Julia

Hi Ricki, Congrats-it will be here before you know it!!! YEAH.....I am glad that at the pretesting they can just do the scope. I had to make a special trip up there to my surgeon for the scope....5 hrs one way....You have come this far-you will get a ride and it will be great...are your boys old enough to drive? I had my oldest daughter drive me home.. I was kind of out of it-so didnt care how bad she drove-LOL...car has full coverage!! No, but they wouldnt have even done the scope unless they saw my ride. Is the hospital close enough to take a cab if you had to? Wish I lived closer to help you out....Keep us posted-and Congrats again-I know this is exciting...you will be on the losers bench sitting by us in no time at all. Love, Jan

Congrats Ricki !! It does feel like a blessing doesn't it? Everyone on this board has helped me so much and I've made so many new friends it's just amazing. My surgery date is March 9th and I'm getting a bit jittery - but so grateful that it's close. I have a question for the Post op's - did ya'll do the protein drinks the 10 days before your surgery? or did you just try to keep to the 1000 calorie diet those 10 days? I'm not sure what I should do... I think the protein drinks would be easier so I wouldn't eat too much - just do the drinks for each meal. What did ya'll do? Hugz Pat B.
