Stress Test
I finally got my first appointment to see the Dr. Fearing (April 3)!!!! The receptionist told me I would have to have a stress test done as well as a PFT. I am not sure I can get through the stress test. I have a bad back and I am afraid it will go into spasms walking on a treadmill. I don't know what to do. I had a resting EKG done today. I was really hoping they could do a chemical stress test. What do you think? I also have had all my labs done and I go to see the psychiatrist tomorrow.
I am having my surgery in Columbia and I was wondering if there is anything else (other than tests) that you have to do if you opt to pay the money for option B, does anyone know? I figure it would be easier to do it that way. How long does this process usually take? I thought they said 4-6 weeks in the seminar, but this is going to be much longer I am afraid.

Hello Elisa....my name is Debbie! Welcome to the MO board. Sounds to me like everything is going smoothly for you! Don't let all that hoop jumping get to you, it's just what we all have to do along the journey of wls! As far as the stress test...just do your best, that's all you can do! They start you out at a pretty slow pace then gradually speed it up...when you've had enough, tell them! They will try to get you to go longer but if you can't, you can't....that doesn't mean they won't do the surgery! They just want to make sure you won't have a heart attack on them and if it looks like you might, they want to be ready for it.
Heck, they gave me one of those about 20 some years ago, when I was in good shape! I couldn't past it then and I've told them I know I wouldn't be able to pass one now! I did get my surgery (Jan 26th) though and have lost 24 lbs and feeling mighty good! I had Lap Band by the way!!
Good Luck and stick around....we'd like to hear more about you and your journey. There's a great bunch of people on here that I'm sure would love to tell you about theirs!
