Hey everyone, thanks for all the great information. My newest question is......... I have been looking around for places in Sedalia to buy protein drinks to try before the surgery and I am at a loss. Where and what kinds should I get. What is the difference in all the different kinds?? There are so many kinds and so many different claims...............not sure what I am looking for.

Hi Shawn, I have some Unjury unflavored I will bring the 19th for you to try. Most everyone likes the Optimum Nutrion Gold Label in black package. I haven't tried it yet. I don't think Sedalia has a good variety thou. Try Walmart and also try GNC but they are higher. I went on line and ordered samples of the Unjury. I need to get samples of the ON. That way if you don't like it you won't be out a large amount. Also it is cheaper on line. The Unjury does mix well, But I still have a hard time more with the smell and not the taste. Also if you use a blender they have a tendency to be a bit more foamy than I like.It is just trial and error. Julia

Thanks. I have been looking around on line also. I was thinking of ordering some sample packs but I was hoping for something here in town but its not looking like there is a real choice here. Its all so confussing worried I will get the wrong stuff. I got B-12 dots, could tell a difference right away. Should have been talking them years ago.

Dont know. Was hoping he would give some. I am just talking a muti vitamin. I want to start taking what I need now so that I kind of build up my system before hand. I also joined a gym yesterday so I can start walking everyday. So far (even though its only day 2, I have done good). 10 more day and then I start the pre- op diet. WHHOHHOO (not).

Shawn, His is chewable, with the calcium and iron so it cuts down on the amount of things to take. You can buy them at the office. Just drop by or call. I am going to use these after surgery and finish up what I have now that are over the counter. Where did you get the B-12? Walmart or another place. Julia

I use the ON 100%whey protein it doesnt have a bad smell and the taste is great. to keep your drinks made in blender from being foamy put your protein in after everything else is blended and just hit it a couple of times. if you are just using milk and the powder you dont need anything but a shaker cup will mix just fine. I have tried several and the ON is the only one that i really like. everything else either has a texturre or smell. You can buy it at GNC here also hope it is there too and the price is about the same i think I use the vanallia ice cream flavor since i can make it into what ever i want that way. I buy it in the 5 pound jug at a time and is 30 somthing dollars not sure exactly what now lol i think it is about the same online and at GNC remember the shipping charges when ordering it online. If you will use the contact button on here i will send you a sample to try. Jan

Hi Shawn, I use the ON brand that Julia is talking about...I found it after trying about 15 other brands-and buying them to boot-it got expensive...I posted about my protein powder problems-as they were making my literally vomit before I could finish them and one of the ladies from the board who lived close asked me to stop by her house and she gave me some samples of the strawberry and vanilla- THEY WERE AWESOME...they didnt have that stench to them, they dont really foam up in the blender AND they taste good-you add milk to them, and later on post op I mean, you can add fruit or yogurt or sf jello powder-and they are wonderful....IF you do not have a Food 4 Less around, there is a place on line called Allstarhealth.com and they sell it for the same price as Food 4 Less almost and its only 5.95 shipping and their variety is bigger....I actually bought the 2# tub of double chocolate 2 days ago and its good too-kind of reminds me of regular chocolate milk....my favorite is the delicious strawberry though...YUMMY. I also like the protein bullets-whey, but dont drink all 3 oz at once as your body cannot absorb 42 grams of protein that quickly...so drink 1/2 and then the other 1/2 later...no one told me that, so about 1/2 way through when I was plugging my nose because it was too sweet-I should have been putting it up to finish later-LOL.... Make sure if you do get the ON brand that you get the correct one...I bought the soy by mistake the first time around-and took 2 drinks and the rest was given away... It is Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Instantized 100% Whey protein and it will have a black label...Anyhow-I have gone to that website and they sell ALL the varieties there, like Rocky Road, chocolate mint-you name it-its there, and they do sell the small tubs too- which are 2#....After I knew I liked them, I bought the 5# tub-and it made over 80 shakes for less than $30.00, cant beat that!! I use a little less than 6 oz of milk in mine to have it go down faster....Hope this helps-and good luck!! Janet
