WHATS HAPPENING SUNDAY

Hey sorry to worry everyone about the What's Happening thread this morning. To tell the truth I was so sleepy when I wrote that it is a wonder it says anything that even sounds like human language at all. LOL Well we now have another little boy to add to our new baby list. This morning I got a call from our neice saying she was at the hospital and was there all alone. So would I come up there. Of course I would and we dropped everything and got to the hospital at 11:00 by noon she was dilated to 8 by 1 she was in hard labor and had him at 1:30 pm. Pretty fast for a first baby. 7pounds 3 ozs. And 18 inches long. She had gestational diabetes and we thought he would be lots bigger but he was a normal size little boy and was full term the doctor said. It is a wonder that she could have him natural he had the cord wrapped around his little neck twice. But he did really well on the scale that they grade them on. Forget what his name is lol. I'm tired . isn't easy helping someone to have a baby. You know as old as I am this is the first baby I have ever seen actually born. Most have come before I got there or they had them c-section or something. Well other than my own and you aren'****ching too much then. Lol. We didn't get anything done in the yard today since we were gone all day but hopefully tomorrow we will get a little done. Got to see my other niece today too and her little ones. The baby she had is 3 weeks old and has already gained 2 pounds. Her black hair is growing more and more. Beautiful baby girl. My granddaughter that had a baby boy 2 weeks ago , has a web cam on her computer and we were talking on the computer the other night in chat and she turned on the camera and I got to see him for the first time almost live anyway. He is beautiful too of course. Julia: your pocketbook sounds about like mine. My dad use to say I had champagne taste with a beer pocketbook , I don't know why he said that because my dad didn't drink so don't know why he picked that analogy for it LOL. The apartment dealing is really a mess isn't it. I don't have any words of wisdom on what you should do but hopefully you will get it straightened out soon and get to move in before your surgery. That is how ive always been to rather work outside than in. I spend maybe one day a week cleaning house and then only if im forced too. Lol. I don't know if it is tomboy or just love to be outside digging in the dirt. Rachael: So how are your mom and your sister doing on their weight loss? Have you reached goal yet on yours? I sure will be glad when I get down to my goal weight but I can see right now that the last 30 pounds are going to take a lot of effort on my part more so than before. Oh well maybe working in the garden all day every day will do it. Hope so. I keep looking for your mom to post on here and she hasn't yet. Tami we wont bite really so come on out and play. Vesta: I wonder why the arthritis is bothering all of us so much this past week , the humidity was pretty low so it wasn't too much moisture in the air. Mine has been driving me nuts this past week too. LOL on me not needing to lose more. I had all the rolls hid under my shirt. Janet: hey first off I love your new collar bones. LOL. Hey if you are known as the weird long winded person then im right there with you. I guess I assume that what I do is interesting to others. Lol it is to me. Im like you I love to read what all everyone is doing and I love your long post they are cool. They help me and everyone else get to know you better. Gardening is a learned art more than anything. I have had a lot of trial and error episodes. Believe me , when I first started gardening it was a miracle that I got anything to grow at all. But with each tiny flower that came up and bloomed was this feeling of wanting to learn more and more. I got books from the library, ordered a couple of magazines that deal with gardening and began to learn. My mother loved to garden too so I would quiz her on how to do things. It was a learning process to learn , just like anything else that you want to be good at. The bunnies and deer and other animals that destroy gardens can be dealt with by buying this spray bottle of stuff that keeps them away from the stuff you plant. It doesn't destroy your plant and it doesn't hurt the animal just they don't like the smell and they wont touch it . Wow on taking the hydrocodone. That stuff makes me so loopy , I cant even walk and take it. I hope the cod liver oil works. Im not sure how that will help when you have arthritis as severe as we do but lets pray that it does. They do have arthritis meds that help some but they say we cant take it with our tummies. I don't know why it was made to be easy on the stomach. But with all the scare with the one a couple of years ago and them takeing that one off the market I think most doctors are reluctant to prescribe the other one too. My mind is blank right now and cant think of the name of it. I don't know if our surgeon would let us have it or not. Help me out someone it starts with a C------ oh well . Hey , I agree you should write a small pocket book on funny fishing tales. That would be neat gift to give to a fishing enthusiast. Your latest tale is so funny . I can imagine your hubby gets a big kick out of you. I sure didn't think your were complaining about answering questions for the newbies. That is our job as post -ops is to help out the newbies. You are right there are so many people that come on the site all the time before they have surgery and for maybe a month or so after surgery then they just drop out of site. They say they are too busy but it doesn't take too long to just say hi and let us know how they are. There have been a lot of people on here that I get to know and love and then they are just gone. I wonder about them all the time. That will be a great way to do it on the reunion thingy . WE will just have to set a time limit for everyone to give their opinion. So you can wrap up the deal. I don't know how we are going to do it without putting money down to reserve things like the pavilion or what ever it is? Shouldn't be that much hopefully and we can divide it up with everyone somehow. Don't know if you have or not but if there are any church camps in the area that might be a cheap way to go too. Tammy: hi girl , I will try to remember to put the Whats happening title on the page this time. Lol. I was just so sleepy that I hit submit before I ment too. You are doing really good on your diet. Keep up the good work. I am getting really excited about the reunion too. I hope there will be a lot of people to come. I hope pre-ops don't think that it is just for the post-ops . It is for everyone. Anyone that would like to come. Anyone that has, is or will be posting on this board. Your right next summer will be so much better for you and getting into the flower beds. Well if you start a club for you weird people that like storms. I don't think I want to be in that one. I love the rain and don't mind the thunder and lighting but when the wind starts in . That is when I don't sleep . I walk from window to window looking out , at what I don't know because it is too dark to see anything lol. Maybe someone could start that prayer post. Someone??? Melissa: Oh wow on the way to the hospital yesterday for my niece I saw probably 20 garage sale signs. I so wanted to stop but didn't have time. I love to do that. I cant get Joe liking it tho. He calls them garbage sales. Lol. I don't know why because he has seen some of my good finds at them. I love to find table of any kind and re-finish them . Some I have painted stencils on and made them look like old handpainted pieces. Most I have given away or sold and I need to get some new ones to work on lol. So since Flo came early does that mean that your appointment with your gyn doc will be sooner? Hope you have a good time in Ark for the day . Tell all your family we said hi. BREnda: so glad to see you on here. No I haven't heard anything from Tressia or Sky in ever so long. I wonder how they are doing . Don't know why or what happened to them. I email them both and never get an answer from either. I wonder if Linda has already moved or in the process. See I told you your life isn't boreing. That is a lot of miles to travel to pick up a granddaughter and go to the vet and back lol I know how that is , we live in the boonies too. It is 60 miles round trip to just go to the grocery store for me here. Lol We drove 90 miles yesterday, round trip just going to Skaggs in Branson and back home. With the price of gas we need to find us a little car that gets about 50 miles to the gallon. Lol Boy you can tell by your picture that you have lost lots of weight. And I like it better than the picture of your poodle. She is cute but you are cuter. I have been sort of at a stand still on weight too. But then it will drop a couple of pounds and will flutter between and back and forth but as long as it doenst go up and stay im ok. I doubt if you are eating too much. Maybe need to up our protein level and water too. Seems like when I do the pounds come down a little more then it will level off again. How much more do you want to lose? Im not real sure but I know I want to lose at least 30 more. Then I will see what and if I need to lose more. Well I was so tired last night that I went to bed at 8pm and then of course I woke up at 2. so here I am writing all of this and not a bit sleepy. So maybe I will get the title on the post this morning lol. Hope Sunday is a great day for all of you. Will be praying for all the ones that have requested prayer. Oh my sister, Sugar is doing pretty well , she is still having some pain in the new tummy area. She said that they told her that the doctor did her pouch and then didn't like how it looked so redid it so that may be why she is having so much pain .since he did a little more messing around in there. She met a lady there that had her surgery the same day as she did. She said they were litter mates. Lol But her name is Lillie or Lily not sure which the spelling is. But Sugar invited her to come onto the board and she said she would . I have not seen her yet but when we do be sure and give a big shout out to her. All newbies congradulations on your up coming surgeries. We are here in case you need to ask a question or just want to share something with us that is great we love to hear from all of you. LOVE AND JOY AND PEACE ABOUNDS JAN

good morning everyone, Wow! everyone else must have forgot to set theri clocks. I am up with the pups as their bladder was full regardless of the time. Enjoying a nice cup of fresh coffee before my shower and then my protein shake. I do so enjoy reading about your gardening Jan. I too like to garden, but I dont have a lot of flowr beds, but I will also have a small garden with tomatoes, peppers, radishes, zucchini, cucumbers, etc. I am going to till up the garden again as soon as it is dry enough. Hope that is soon. We had a lot of rain on Thursday. Glad to see Janets picture on. I have tried to get mine on and it is always so big it wont go. People have told me how but I still can not get it. Oh well, one of these days my son will probably fix it. Usually, our cell phones will change the new time automatically but today they did not. I have Sprint as my carrier. Wonder what the deal is? This weekend I hemmed 2 pair of pants which I had bought several years ago on sale, One is a kacki color and one a maroon color. they are size 32 waist. Wow, now that is a wow for me. My hubby keeps telling me I am getting so thin. But actually, it must be the exercise as I am standing still weight wise. Well, got to go and get my shower and go to church. Colette

Hello Missouri, Sounds as if evenyone is doing well with their new surgeries. That's what we pray for isn't it. I ran errands all over Springfield yesterday. Went to TJ Maxx, usually check it out every weekend, then went to Salvation Army and got four pairs of pants. They are a little tight now but won't be for long. I'm finally believing that when I say it!!! I went to the tanning salon, DH hates for me to go but I was soooooo white! I love to be tan, if the sun comes out I may sit in the yard for awhile today. The new pictures are wonderful. Isn't it amazing to have bones? I've never had collar bones, mine just don't stick up. But I have hip bones now!!! Also wanted to report that my tailbone quit hurting about a month ago. And, praise God, my arthritis has been so much better the last week. One of these medicines must be working. I have no gardening skills, zero, zilch, nada!!! I do have four wonderful tomato plants that still are alive and I got a pot for one yesterday at Lowe's. I'm going to keep it on the patio and put the others in the ground. This AM I fixed a protein fruit drink before I made DH his hash browns and eggs and before I could eat my scrambled egg I had a funny episode. I felt nauseous and a little sweaty, almost like dumping, except I hadn't had any sugar. I think I was just too empty or something. Laid down for about 10 minutes, felt better, ate my egg, got my shower and have been fine ever since. I haven't ever really dumped, I've been so careful not to eat incorrectly. Went to Health Weight Supermarket for protein drink fruit powder (love the grape) and the man there told me he thought it was crazy to have your stomach cut in half. I said, "well mine is cut and I believe it has saved my life". He looked so surprized. I think he thought I was a bandster. We're going to the Juanita K Hammons theater tonight to see the Ray Charles musical, I Can't Stop Lovin You. I think it will be good. I sure hope so. We missed Hairspray because some football game was on TV and DH really wanted to watch the game. I want to see Hairspray the movie because John Travolta plays a woman!!! He's a pretty masculine man to play a woman, I think Hope everyone has a blessed Sunday. We decided not to go out because I just felt too iffy in my tummy. Don't want to spew on folks in the pew. Hey that rhymes!!! Jan, I think the medicine you're thinking of is Celebrex? Maybe? Hugs and love, Lana

Dear Jan and OH Peeps~ Jan-congrats on the baby boy...he sounds precious-what an honor to watch a baby being born-isnt it? I have had the pleasure of being in the birthing room with 2 different friends to see their babies born-and one was a set of twins (my ex sister in law had the twins)....the miracle just takes your breath away. I had all 3 of mine by c-section and so I didnt get to witness that or watch (good thing to!) I am glad he is okay and I am glad you got to be with her as it would have been scary to go through that on her own!! What a special person you are!!! The hydrocodone doesnt make me loopy....once in awhile I may get a little buzz, but for the most part it just relieves the pain and I can still drive and do everything else. Its not been too bad with pain, unless the pills start to wear off-and then I am back to being crippled! Lets just hope they find out what this is and how to fix it before I run out-LOL or I dont know what will happen! I have to say THANK YOU for all the compliments about my pictures-its been overwhelming to hear people talk about you in a way that you never think about yourself, you know? Its hard for me to look at my picture and say-that looks good or thats ok. Didnt like either one, but you know Mel-she didnt care-they were going on the computer whether she was going to have to hack into my profile without permission-LOL LOL....So, its done-and now I just need to get the before pics posted somehow and pics of my hubby and kids....and just for Tammy Ammy-I will post one in my jeans-that I have worn three times and DRIED-and they are getting baggy as well. Darn it-gonna have to shop again!! (wink wink, breaks my heart!) I used to hate shopping-never would even stop at the ladies/womens sections anywhere-but now I find myself looking for clearance or whatever, cause I know I can fit into it. Well, on the fishing stories-glad you enjoyed them....Trust me, I have stories that would make you wet your pants-maybe I should write a little about me book-cause some of the things you just wouldnt believe happen in REAL LIFE-just in the movies.. At least I can still laugh about things that happened and very rarely did I ever get mad or upset-I am just like-well, IF it can happen-it WILL happen to me-and I go on...At least it gives people comic relief for years to come-and we laugh about MY situations ALL the time. I have a lot more funny car stories than fishing-trust me. Hubby says that he needs to buy me a US Army tank-or if the car manufacturers want to know how their car will stand up to a beating-to let me try it out!! LOL....Maybe I will post about some of these laughs later! On the reunion-a lot of the places dont open until April 1st....some opened March 1st, but not many...so I think we will be okay and its almost complete-but I havent gotten back but one email from Lake of the Ozarks resorts etc as most arent open yet. My husband and I went on a REAL DATE last night-that was so awesome. We didnt eat before we went out-and then "I" got hungry...(didnt hv to ask him, he is always hungry-LOL-skinny as a rail tho) so went to Flying J truck stop to eat after our date-and all the sudden it was 3:30 in the morning! We were just sitting there in our little BOOTH-for the first time since we have been together!!! Mike loves booths, but we always had to sit at tables because of my fatness....It was soooo cool...we just talked and talked. Got to bed at 5 am, and slept until 10-well, 11 with the time change! Its been so quiet and relaxing. Hubby is fixing his RC plane that crashed from 80 feet yesterday and did some MAJOR damage and if the wind dies down a little, we will be out flying today too-it was sooo cool...when we get more of his cars (slot cars) sold, we are going to buy a plane for me-and its going to be a family affair. The boys have planes, but they arent RC...cant afford them to fly too!!! LOL Well, I better get going-I have to go get Jon at my moms, stop at the store, and start getting stuff ready for my trip etc, cause we have to leave early in the morning Tues as my appt is at 10 am....I have lost 115# now-and I am going to ask my surgeon if I can get my picture taken with her-and then I am going to have that picture put in a frame on my wall-am making a shadow box with like my approval letter, bracelet from hospital and some wow stuff. Well, kinda like a shadow box/collague type deal.. tags from my first pair of jeans, things like that....I always want to remember how she saved my life. I am going to get a little tattoo on my shoulder with angel wings and the date of my surgery, I am going to put her initials somewhere in there-but dont want it to be dorky. Miss everyone today. Hope everyone is well and I sure appreciate all the compliments. It feels nice-even if you are my friends and wouldnt post anything but positive responses anyway!!! I love you all, you are so very special and dear to me, that I feel like I have this big ol family that I always wanted growing up-and even as an adult-my family is very small and when most passed away-it just left my parents, which I love, dont get me wrong, but miss big get togethers and being a part of something much bigger that a lot of people I know have! Have a great day everyone. Prayers are going out to those that need them-and Tammy Ammy, great idea for the prayer posts-glad you came up with it-and thanks so much! We love ya... Miss a lot of people who arent regular anymore-and to those that do post here-LOVE to read your posts and what your doing-LIFE is NOT boring! Tell us about it-love to hear from you. No matter what you did or are doing that day! Love and prayers to all. Talk to you later. Love, Jan

Hey Everyone, Wow what a nice weekend so far. Yesterday I spent most the day outside cleaning up the property around here and cleaning out my shed. I uncovered my mums that are around the tongue of the trailer, they are gonna be so pretty when they bloom. I went and bought some latice work to put around the bottom of my deck and around the tongue to make it look a lil better. I just gotta get it cut to fit and all. I started digging up the ground around the deck getting it all ready and Rich (the landlord) is over there now plowing the ground where the veggie garden is gonna be, Im loving it Susan worked 12 hours yesterday so I was all by myself so I thought I'd just get started on the gardens. Today I've pulled all the grass out from around the deck where I dug it up and raked all the rocks out so now its just about ready to plant some flowers, yay!!! Classes kept me busy this last week, sheesh seems its getting a bit harder each week. I got an assignment due today so Im gonna work on it after I'm done here. Brenda Susan has to work on monday but Im gonna take her to work and keep the car so I can make the meeting, she gets off at 8pm but she said she'd relax there til the meeting is done. Well Im gonna go for now, gotta do some school work. Hope everyone is having a blessed weekend. Jan congrats on the new addition again Andrew!

Jan, Congrats on the new baby! I was lucky enough to be with my daughter with both of her girls, and my neice with her oldest son and a friend of mine from Africa who was only here a month till she delivered. I have been with many, many others tho working in delivery room but it is not as awesome as it is when it is someone you are close too. I will find out more about the apt. in the morning I hope. If I have problems i will call my social worker Jill and let her handle it. Andrew is it time for a new pic for you??? Tell Susan to take care of herself those 12 hours will get to you. Janet, do you really think if we thought you looked terrible we won't tell you?? We are family you knowBut my pic is old and I need to put up a new one. Jan keeps bugging me, so I will hopefully have them on by my surgery in a couple of weeks. Jan one of the meds was also Vioox beside Celebrex. To tell you the truth this is what I dread the most is going off my arthritis meds. Dr. H. said he would give me something then later on I can try my old meds again and if they don't bother me I can have them back.I am on Voltaren now, and if I take enough Motrin will help. So I will see. The Tylenol #3 and Lortab don't seem to help my arthritis pain, other than put me to sleep if I take enough. Lana I am with you, I don't like to look snow white but I have never used a tanning bed. I usually just go fishing in the sunshine for a day and I am good for the summer. My daughter told me she thought about buying a new t-shirt that said "I OVERCAME ANOREXIA" . But she said she was afraid they wouldn't let her wear it to work.( she works in a relaxed office for Interstate studios) I told her is she got one to get me one and we would wear them to the races! The sky is overcast today so I am dreary, dreary, dreary! I need several days in a row to get my energy back. Vesta, that is great you did so much outside, was it really the weight loss or just the thought of having the hot tub done sooner That will be real nice when you have finished though. Hello to all . Hope your weekend went well. Julia

Good Evening... So sorry I didn't make it on here to post Saturday. I had a wedding to attend! My pastor's son, whom I have watched turn from a young boy into a wonderful man. I had to be there and before I could do that I needed to stop and get a gift. I already had it picked out, just needed to pick it up. By the time I got back from the store and dressed for the wedding, we were out the door and off to the Church! Very nice service and reception! By the time we got home, we just wanted our feet up and to listen to the quiet. My daughter called me Friday, in tears...she had been watching court tv (she wanted to become a criminal psychologist when she was younger) and there were some pretty graphic murders that had happened lately and all of them were about kids, babies really! She started asking the questions like, why would God allow something like that to happen to a baby or small child. I explained what I could but told her she really needed to talk to our pastor and I have set up a phone conversation between the two. He will be a big help for her! I know I will be pulled into it later but for right now I've done all I can do. A lot going on here on the board....nice pics Janet! You look fantastic!! Jan...I'm glad you like the prayer! It was on my heart and I had to let it out! Gardening must be in our blood or something...lol I got my seeds from Parks and I'm still looking at Gurney. I also have some stuff that I want to get from Arbor Day Foundation. I was scoping out the garden center this morning when I was at the store for the wedding gift!....I couldn't help but look...lol Kathleen.....loving the new pics that you have put up as well!! Looking good! Melissa L...keep the faith in Jesus sweetheart, all will be fine! Pat B...glad to know all is well!! Keep up the good work!! Tammy H....way to go!! another 40lbs? I can see you doing that! Brenda...love the furbaby and it's great seeing you again! Melissa R......praying hard for ya sis!! Keep the Faith!! Still got prayers going out on everyone that needed them!! Your names will be left at the altar tomorrow but I will still be praying over them! NEWBIES!! WELCOME!! You will find support and love on here and some of the best friends you will ever know! We will pray each and every one of you through your journey (surgery and recovery) and anything else that may come along! Stick around, I think you will like what you find! By the way everyone! The marriage, mine and David's is back on track! Everything is fine! I think part of it he that he has starting getting testosterone shots (most men over 40 years old need them) again and he just had an overload and turned in Neanderthal man!! I told him I was waiting for him to jump up and start pounding his chest at any moment!...lol Well, I think I'm caught up...Love & Prayers!! Deb M.
