WHATS HAPPENING FRIDAY
Was certainly a lot cooler today wasn't it? Oh well you know it really still is winter. It will get warm again . At least it isn't 20 and snowing . Right?
We worked outside today doing another pathway and I worked on laying another layer of rocks around a flower bed in front of the guest house. Still need lots more to fini**** up . Will go Sat probably and get a load of rock to do more of that . We also worked on the little pond we have in the back yard. Putting more gravel around it. What we had there sank some over the winter. So took 2 wheelbarrow loads to do that.
Found out today the little man that lives behind us has his house up for sale. He is about 80 I think and has cancer that I think they have pretty well controlled. He wants to move into town and be closer to things. He still drives but he says it is so far away from everything that he gets really tired going to town and the price of gas makes him be short of money.
We would like to buy his place and put a nice garage on that piece of property for our boat and 4 wheeler and other things we have that right now we don't have a place for them. Will call the loan people tomorrow and see what they say. But I don't know.
It is just an idea. One of his lots is just empty. I would like to plant some fruit trees and would also be a good place to plant a small garden. Just thoughts at this point. Lol
Joe say now Honey we have enough land we don't need that you know.
Sugar came home today finally. After she saw the doctor today and they removed her drain tube she feels so much better. I sure am glad . I felt so sorry for her and how badly she felt. Also she got a prescription for Ultram and is taking that and it doesn't make her goofy and eases the pain. But I think she will be ok especially now that she is at home. I think that alone makes you always feel better.
Melissa: oh my lord I would have loved to been with you and Janet on your trip.
Sounds like you two were like a couple of highschoolers let out for the day . LOL
That is ok you both deserve it, There were lot of years there that you could do very little now isn't it crazy but we do feel like highschoolers really. Don't we?
Your husband sounds like my Joe , he is a romantic too.
Janet: Did you all stop at Lake of the Ozarks or drive thru there or something while up in that area?
How is the search for a spot for our reunion going?
Like I told Melissa sounds like you two had a really great time.
Didn't your doctor give you a prescription for some Flexarill already. If not call him and ask for them no reason for you to wait till the end of the month for them. If I lived close to you I would bring you some. I know they along with my Ultram really help me stay sane from the pain. My prescription says for me to take up to 3 a day for pain if needed
I cant take that many tho cause all I want to do with that many is sleep lol
Lana: yeah sounds like it would be fun to go on a trip with them doesn't it?
I will look for the lemon calciums. Wal mart carries them also , maybe you could check there. Seems like the last time I was in wal mart in Ozark they had the lemon flavored ones.
When I have those I use them as treats too. They really do taste like little candies don't they?
Sounds like your and hubby will have fun finding you an outfit, when you find one that he things is too outrageous then you know you have found the right one lol
We will be praying for your grandson and his surgery . Hope this really helps him.
Will you be back in time for the support meeting on the 26th? Sure hope so , I am anxious to see how you are doing again.
You know if I had this spare tire from around my middle gone I woudnt care about the weight but I guess that all is the extra weight lol
I keep plugging along.
Vesta: My second month I only lost 8 pounds so you are doing ok, don't worry . It will come off. Just keep doing all the right things and it will work. Are you still doing your water aerobics? I had to quit mine the cost of gas was killing us along with paying for that it was costing us a fortune. But I am doing a lot of work in the yard and then walking too so Im getting more of a workout than there anyway.
9 pounds is 9 pounds and yes at least you didn't put on 9 pounds but lost it.
Thanks for caring about our Dog I don't know why someone would do that but I guess that is like stealing anything they just don't want to work for their stuff so they take other peoples things. They will answer for all of it one day. That is for sure.
Tammy: I know that Joe is so glad that he got his new teeth. He will get use to them soon.
How is it going with the new daughter in the house? I hope that is all going good.
Sorry it wasn't meant for you to be another nana right now. It will happen one day soon.
Don't rush them , like you said they are both very young. Lol
LOVE AND JOY AND PEACE ABOUNDS
JAN
Good mornin OH PEEPS
It was a great day today and it was cooler but it was great. I hear everyone talking about working outside and I haven't even started yet. I need to rake my yard and lnt grass seed. I hope it's not too late. I had cliniclas all week and really enjoyed them. It would have been nicer if they weren't scheduled during our school's Spring break. Tonight my grandkids are coimg over for me to take care of for a few hours. DBF and myself will be glad to see them. I have one of my grandchildren here now. She looks so peacful when she is sleeping!!
St. Patty's day is rolling around. Everyone have plans for that?? Sounds like everyone is getting busy in their yards to make them beautiful!!!! can almost see everything growing. Hopefully I can get some grass to grow  I do have a brown thumb!!!
I finally get to go to the psychiatrist Mon. I'll be glad to get that over with. I still have to go to columbia to see the psychologist and then see the GI dr. on the 18th of May so it's creeping along but at least we're creeeping here.
I am trying to keep up with everyone but have a hard time because I have so much goig on but don't think for one minute I'm not reading each and every post!! I just don't always have time to answer everyone. I hope everything is going well for everyone!! I love the daily prayer list that is an awesome idea.
Talk to everyone soon!!!

Good Morning Guys & Gals...
Who in the world ordered the cooler weather???? lol lol.... I don't know why we can't enjoy spring and fall without it jumping around then disappearing on us.
Jan.. Thanks for asking about the situation with my step-daughter. Things are going pretty good so far. But she is a teenager....so who knows what tomorrow will bring...LOL LOL LOL.....She will be with us for 2 weeks this coming monday and still has not got to start school yet. Her school in Texas still has not gotten her records faxed and Campbell school wont let her start till they do. Hopefully she will get to start Monday. She is getting bored and is anxious to get being the new kids over with lol lol.
I know Ill get to be a Nanna again one day... And they weren't really ready at the moment. They are young and they are working on buying them their own place and all so they need a little more time to get things lined out before they start having kids. We still have 3 kids left to get grand-kids by so my luck Ill get hit one after another lol lol......
I don't know about yall but I think Janet and Mel should have taken a cam corder along with them....Probably would have been the funniest movie of the year!!! You know I love ya girls! LOL LOL.....
Sugar.....So glad you got to come home & things are getting better. How much have you already lost?
I didn't get a chance to post earlier this week when they were talking about the support meeting in Fredricktown. I sure hate that it didn't pick up and they aren't going to keep doing it. I wanted so badly to start going to it but things kept getting in the way. Maybe someone will try getting another one going near me. There is one in Cape Girardeau every 2nd saturday of the month. Maybe I can try making that one. Id love to be able to make it to the one in Springfield every month but wow it's so far from me. But I really enjoyed the one I got to make it to.
Well Im terrible with names and dates...but I want to congradulate all the new loosers. It will be so great to join all of you soon. If all goes well I hope to get lucky and become a looser myself by the end of MAY!!!
My appt with Dr.Scott got changed from the 22nd of March to April 5th. I have my pysc eval the 20th of March, so I am going to call them today and see if there is anything else I can do while I am at Columbia the 5th of April. The more I get out of the way the closer I am to my BIG DAY!!!!
Hope everyone has a great weekend.......HUGS & LOVE.....Tammy H
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!!
Well, I'm up and going early...just pray that my back and legs hold up! I have felt poorly the last couple of days but today, I seem to be okay so far! Nothing that I can really put a finger on, just felt bad...almost like the flu. Oh well...it's hopefully gone and I will be my old self again!
Sounds like the ROAD TRIP those two took was fun! Next time come get me!...lol
I am sooo happy for Julia, she has been through so much! I'm glad that things finally paid off! PRAISE THE LORD!!
Andrew/Susan...you two okay? Haven't seen you around much. I pray that everything is good with you guys!
Jan...I think you would garden and landscape the earth if you had the time!...lol Glad to see your doing better! I was doing good with the yardwor****il this yucky weather came along....guess it just isn't time to get our hands too dirty yet!
Was "SURVIVOR" on last night? If so, which team won and what did they win and who got booted off? David and I went to bed early, we have a tv in there but when David fell asleep I shut it off so it wouldn't wake him. I'm thinking that whatever bug I had, he must have now.
I might have to cut this short, my pills and water aren't working well with my stomach this morning! This is the first time that I have actually felt as though I might "yuck" since my surgery!
My daughter came by yesterday with the baby. Finally, she is legal! She had her car, tags, license...everything!! Praise the Lord!!
HEY...TOMORROW IS MINE AND DAVID'S 24TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY!!.....and they said we wouldn't make it! We have hit some bumpy roads here and there but we are stronger for it!!
JUST A THOUGHT....David and I are thinking about redoing our vows next year "our 25th anniversary"... if we did this...how many of you would like to attend..if any?? ....lol
David and I were married in Vegas years ago because of the feud that was going on with me, David and David's mother...we were not Christians at the time either. I have a deep heartfelt need to redo it our vows in a Church! My pastor welcomes the idea. It would be a "small sevrvice" (pun intended!!...lol). Everyone would have to rent rooms, park their RV's on our property or put up tents but we have 7 acres of property! Well, anyway...just let me know and I will put your name on list and will keep you updated on the event...when and if it happens!!...lol
Well, my belly is feeling better...Thank you Lord! I'm gonna go try to get some things done! Love & Prayers for all!! Deb M
Good Morning Jan and OH Family~
Yesterday was a day of recouperation.....my thighs and arms hurt so bad...I didnt want to move! I know it was those stairs and that big ol leather bag of mine-THANKS MELISSA!! (J?K) I found myself several times yesterday laughing about things that happened while on our road trip-and to tell you the truth, the funniest things were so small, but we laughed until we cried!!
Ok-picture this...on Weds-Mel had these cute little flip flops with these flowers on the piece between the toes-and while getting into the car-the flower catches the bottom of the door and she falls into the car....ok-now it gets better-we get to the dr ofc and get out-and Terry had used armour all on the interior of the car-when she gets out, she SLIDES along the door and almost falls out of the car-I thought I was gonna wet my pants-what a mess!! While we were lugging our stuff out of the motel, down those 500 feet of stairs, she drops her bag-and I thought for sure that she had fallen behind me-and I wasnt sure what to do....then of course, she got the giggles because of how fast I twisted around to see if she was headed towards me....It was definitely what the doctor ordered for us...all the laughing somehow really relieves so much tension..My husband says he has the most fun being around us because it is never boring and that we make him laugh because we get the giggles so badly over the darndest things. I wish you could have been there with us-but we will be all together soon, and I am sure Murphys Law will still apply to us then-so you will be able to see some of the comic relief-trust me!!!
Jan, I have enough flexeril to last until I see my doc the end of this month. I will be fine and if not, I will have them call some more in. They are helping-it was just pain from the trip and all the running we did and steps from the prev 2 days...back has not hurt like before since I started taking it and I will continue. Thanks for the offer if we lived closer tho-I appreciate that...this back pain was the worst pain I have ever experienced and I just thank God that those little tiny pills work like magic!!
Good luck on that property. I can see it now-like a botanical gardens, maybe you can sell tickets and make some extra money....that would be so great!! Cant wait to come that way and see your work of art...
Deb M, Congrats on 24 years-what an accomplishment. I am so proud of you and David...sometimes the road is rocky, but the marriage sure is stronger because you didnt just give up-you worked it out and any good marriage is worth saving...Count me in girl, would LOVE to come and witness the renewal of vows, how awesome will that be? What a good time too!! Yay!!
Lana-Mel and I were talking about a road trip with you guys as well! Man, that would be something. I think that every woman, married or not, should get away from all of it once in awhile and have a girls weekend or whatever....Hope your grandson is good and he is in my prayers-along with his family!!! The shriners is an excellent facility, and I went to them when I was a small child for my knees-I had arthritis when I was 4 and they helped a lot. My grandpa was a shriner and helped get me in.
I am so glad Splenda is home and feeling better. Those darn drains are so irritating! I hope each day gets easier for her. I am praying for her. I had told my doctor that my tummy hurts a lot in the morning, but it was like where my old tummy is-not the new one and so she checked me for a hernia-but said it was probably still tender from where the incisions were (are) and if it was still like that at next check up, they would check into it....yikes!
Well, had an appt this morning, but Jon woke up and isnt feeling well, so had to cancel and its the last day of spring break, so I hope its a little nicer outside cause I have some things for the older kids to do outside while they are home, and then have to go to walmart and get some vitamins. My doc said I can take cod liver oil and so I am going to get some and see if it helps....
Not much other news...Have to get an anniversary present for Mike since that is Tues. Not sure what to get him (LOL)....Guess I will go to Academy and see what strikes me and go from there. I hate shopping for him-he usually just can get what he needs or wants and if he cant afford it-I sure cant! He just told me last night he is going to get the pool drained in the next 2 weeks or so and then we are going to get it pressure washed and painted and then filled for the summer. WOOOOOHOOOOO!!!! I cannot wait! So, hopefully it wont rain in that time frame or it sets us back by days at a time, waiting to drain it again and starting over!
julia, congrats on the apartment-I was praying it would work out for you. I am so happy for you.
Well, I am gonna close for now. I will tt you all later. Loads of love, Janet
Good Morning Everyone:
Well that sunshine will fool ya when you step outside. Brrr it is a little chilly outside today. Thought I would pop in and say Howdy before DH & I run some errands today. Didnt do awhole lot of anything yesterday just tried to get my arms, legs, thighs, ohh heck my whole body to stop hurting. lol
Okay when Janet posted about just ask Mel what she did in the waiting room of the doctors office. While we was sitten there waiting for jnaet to be called back to get weight and to be placed in a room. The Receptionist walked thro the waiting room and lets out an Uuuuuggggghhhhh and then walks over to one of the pic that is on the wall and straightens it out. She told Janet & I that they never stay straight and that is her pet peeve. Of course Janet & I just snicker. And then they call her name to be called into the back. Well after Janet got to see the Nurse & Doctor. Janet was maken her next appointment and say waiting on a certain paper (it list all the pills you can and cant take after WLS) The 2 ladys up front just looks at us like we were speaking a foreign language. So they left the desk looking for this paper that Janet was talking about. I told Janet I'll give you 5.00 if you tilt the pic before she get back. LOL Janets tilts all of them I try and join in and do the one right by the deck (Not a pic just a awards letter) and it come off the wall. lol Finally it went back on before she came back and told Janet she couldnt find it. I couldnt even look up as we walked out of the office for fear of busting out lol-ing. Yes, as you can tell I can be VERY Ornery. he he he
Have a great day everyone!!!
God Bless
Mel
Hello Missouri,
Not much happening yesterday or today. I had a headache last evening, think my wig was too tight!!!!!
I'm almost finished with the famous patchwork sweatshirt. Am determined to do it this weekend so I can get the sewing machine put away and off the kitchen table.
I went over to Penney's on my lunch hour yesterday and tried on some tops. My bottom half is getting much smaller but my top half seems HUGE to me. I am sort of between Womens and Ladies sizes right now on the top. John said I'm not allowed to try on clothes all the time because that is the same as weighing and I only do that on Saturday AM. I know these spare tires will eventually come off but they will be the last thing to go I'm sure.
I'd love to come to the renewal of vows. Maybe some of us could carpool from Springfield area. I can fit three other folks in my car. Keep us posted.
I'm cooking corned beef and cabbage tomorrow for my Irishman hubby. I will try to chop mine really really well. Haven't eaten anything that stringy yet.
DH bought paint for our bedroom, he planned to do it himself but now is considering hiring it done. We have a painter from here at MSU that has done work for us before. Hope DH decides to do that. Getting up and down on the ladder is hard for him.
Must get to work. Know that I love and am praying for all of you and your needs.
Lana
Good Morning Missouri:
I know it has been a while since I posted but there wasn't really any news until last night. I went to the seminar last night at the DePaul Bariatrics center. It was packed, there was at least 100 people there. I took my husband with me. He soaked up the info, but I have researched this so much I really didn't learn too much that that I didn't aready read about.. I am hopeing to get Dr De La Tori. We really like him and with all his experence I feel safe having him as a surgion. I talked with the nurse afterwards and she helped me tremendously. I have been struggling with not knowing how to get my records so I can prove I have been obese for at least 5 years. Since I am new to MO, all my info is in Iowa. I never had a regular PCP. I only went to the Dr if I really had to. The nurse told told me to call and have all my medical records released to me from Iowa. So today I got on the phone to 3 different places I went and they are sending me release forms so I can get that info. Hopefully there is something from at least 5 different years. I am so glad that my insurance procedures are not too difficult.
Monday is my sleep study. I went in for a consultation last week. The Dr thinks I may have mild sleep apnea as well as insomnia. She prescribed a mild sleep aid and it really helps. I don't wake up quite as much during the night. I will update again after monday. I am a little nervious about the sllep study. It will be the first night away from my husband since the wedding. plus it is going to be difficult to sleep somewhere not in my bed.
TTFN...
