WHATS HAPPENING MONDAY
A new day and a new dollar. Don't know about you but a new dollar would help. Lol
We have got lots of ideas, or rather I do but there are holes in our pockets or something, when I look there is no money there just pocket lint. Lol
The new pond up front will probably have to wait until next year. Unless something great happens that will allow us to work on it this year. I guess we will gather the rocks and stuff this year and then start it later. The rocks are free but everything else is expensive. Especially the pump.
Worked outside raking the area and cutting out more roots. But decided to stop working and get on the 4 wheeler and go down to the sand bar and see if there were any arrowheads to be found. We walked and walked but didn't see any. Was pretty chilly down on the lake like that. Lots more so than up the hill at our house. Was sure glad that I wore a coat.
Watched the nascar race at Atlanta. Was a pretty good one today. I love nascar.
Was a pretty quiet day for us today. It is suppose to start raining tomorrow so we will do some work over in the trailer this week. I hope. Lol
Andrew: So you decided that you can take care of the bil and do your schooling too? Man it sounds like you are meeting yourself coming and going. Take care or you will get sick from too much stress.
Tell Susan that she cant work all the time she will be sick again too.
No we didn't get any snow. Was a pretty nice day. Chilly but very sunny. Your mums will probably be ok Don't fret over them. They are very very hardy. I never do anything to them in the winter usually . the only reason I did anything this last year is that I dug them up and transplanted them and wanted them to have a decent start. Mine have already started growing like crasy. They will be ready to trim down soon if they keep this up.
Cant wait to see you and Susan next week.
Janet: Wow do I ever remember those days with the kids getting hurt and blood flying everywhere. My worst one was my youngest daughter. She was my daredevil and adventurer. The older two and boy and a girl were a lot quiter than she was. Anything she could think of to do she would. I know exactly that heart wrenching knot of terror that they can give you. Lol
Glad to hear it wasn't too bad.
Yeah somedays even with taking the flexeril the back pain comes thru it but for the most part it isn't as bad is it.? Mine isn't . I don't think a broken bone, and I have had several of those , hurt as bad as muscle spasms. They just take your breath away.
Tammy: LOL I don't know why the Indians didn't do a bring on Spring time dance. Well officially Spring will be here Wednesday. It is suppose to be in the 70s I think but raining but you know they say April showers brings May flowers. Except this is March and that doesn't rhyme. Lol
Yeah I am going to concentrate on my prayer spot this spring getting that done the way I want. It will be a good place to be when you want to get away.
I just in the last 2 months since surgery began to really get the energy to do things again
The first 4 months of surgery I would think I had the energy to do things and would start and about an hour or so I would have to stop I was so tired. But lately I can work outside all day, raking, digging and pulling pretty hard work. I just may have to take an extra muscle relaxant if I over do it but it really does help.
Melissa: Did you find any good buys at the garage sales? What mainly do you look for when you go? Anything or something special?
I bet that scared you when Janet hung up on you while talking didn't it.? But thank God he is ok. And will survive. Lol
What do you think is wrong with your fil? Is he depressed? Hope you can get him to go to the doctor. Sounds like he needs to be seen. Maybe you can tell him that the doctor's office called and said he needs to come in for his yearly check up. Would he go for that?
Will keep him in my prayers.
I have got to take all of my rings in now to be sized. I have gone from a size 11 down to a 7. Now that is a lot isn't it?
Colette:: Hey glad you are having a great time down in Houston. Swimming and exercising away. Sounds like fun and you will come home all tan and slim and looking marvelous darling. Have fun be careful driving down there it is a wild place to drive in isn't it. You ever driven the inner loop? Wow mad house.
Well I was determined today to get in all of my protein and all of my water too. I did it but feel so stuffed. The only way I can get enough protein in is with two protein shakes because I just can not eat enough to get it all in by food. I have supper as the meal I eat and then about 8 I had a protein shake, added to the one I had at 8 this morning it got me in 90 grams of protein and 102 oz of fluid. I wish I could do this every day I might lose faster but it really takes a lot of concentration to get all of that in. And I for get when I get outside working.
Well we got to watch a good show this afternoon. Lol The neighbors have a bunch of chickens and here while back they bought a lot of little chickens that were very small , they were all suppose to be hens , turns out 2 of them were roosters. Well they already have a big red rooster and they didn't need anymore besides they fight all the time if there is more than one in the hen house lol.
So today they had 2 of their grandsons down to catch the two young roosters. Lol
Lot of falling and slipping and sliding and laughing and yelling. Those two had the chicken yard going crazy. Finally Grandma told them to quit and wait till they all went in to roost this evening. it was quite easy to get them that way. Matter of walking in and taking them off their roost and putting them in crates. Hope the young roosters have a good life and aren't made in to fried chicken in someone's frying pan. Lol
Want to say welcome to all the newbie's on the Missouri Board and tell any of you that live close to Springfield that we have next Monday night a great support group in Springfield called the Circle of Friends. Meets at 2620 Battlefield in the fire/police community room there. 6:30 to 8:00pm. How we get to see some of you there.
No birthdays or Surgeries today? I don't have any down.
LOVE AND JOY AND PEACE ABOUNDS

Good Morning everyone!!
I hope everyone had a great weekend! Thank you for the congrats on our anniversary!!

I didn't do much yardwork this weekend, just hang out with David but I think that's what your suppose to do for your anniversary...lol
He is back at work this morning
so I will be trying to get some work done outside before this rain hits. I'm just waiting for daylight now!
Andrew...I'm glad that you guys are okay, I was getting worried! I pray that your brother in law will recover fast so you and Susan can get back into your routines. I know what being a caregiver is all about and it ain't easy!! Take care of you and Susan first!! If you don't you'll both be so wore out you will be gripeing at each other or getting sick and neither of you want that I know.
We have an awesome service yesterday! The spirit of God hit us as soon as we walked through the door! As soon as I got to my seat I started praying like I normally do before the services starts. I could already feel His spirit sooo strongly I was already in tears! When the service did start, there was more worship then sermon! People were at the altars before the music even started! Our pastor was so moved he could hardly speak! The service was the Lord's and we did as he wanted...there wasn't a dry eye in the house and the altar was full within 20 minutes after the service started!
Awesome, just awesome!! Thank you Lord!!
A lot of NEWBIES on here lately....Hello to All and Welcome to the Missouri Board!
Well thats all for me, for now!! I will check back later!! Love & prayers, Deb M

Good Morning Jan and OH Peeps~
Yesterday was chilly here in the morning, but late afternoon it warmed up and was nice-except for the wind...We stayed close to Jon, no running, jumping, climbing etc, as we didnt want his gash on the head to reopen. When we changed his big band aid, (we left the butterfly ones alone) it looked nice and clean...thats what we were hoping for. He would have gotten 7-10 stitches, but the butterflys are keeping it together really nicely, and I have been giving him tylenol faithfully so his little head wont hurt. He is pretty cranky this morning-which I expected. Third day, as my grams always says-is the worst. LOL....at least everyone else went back to work and school this morning, so nothing to really wind him up over!
I had to laugh when I saw that Mel was making Swiss Steak for dinner too-I already had mine going when I read the post! I dont put onion and peppers in mine right now because those 2 things dont agree with me yet.
We did get a few chances to fly the RC Plane outside. Was too hard to videotape it though between the sun in my eyes and the hawks flying around-I kept losing sight of it! The last flight-it hit the diving board on our pool and flew into about 5-6 peices with the body (and all the electronics) landing in the deep end of the pool!! HOLY COW!! We all stood there and gasped-but no one said a word! We got it out though and after it dried up, it works!! YAY!!
Got back 3 emails yesterday from resorts etc from Lake of the Ozarks...left 2 voice mails to ones who hadnt responded yet and waiting for their call backs. Wi**** were done and over with, but its still early, a lot of places dont open until April 1st. Just want to give the update post, but want to have all my ducks in a row before I do that!
Maybe they will come through today and it will be done? Hope so~!
It sure is great to get on here and see all the newbies-our board is hopping~~ I am so glad to see that!! Wish I had more time to get on here and post to everyone and give them the official welcome. Hoping things slow down on the home front so I can have a little more puter time.
Well, I am gonna close for now and get my day started. Going to get my morning chores done, get my protein and vitamins in and get Jon all ready for the day as well. I hope that everyone has a good Monday and stays dry. It looks like its gonna start raining any moment now! ARGH.....we are suppose to have 4 days of that crud! My knees have been hurting like crazy, now I know why-but they arent hurting this morning, so the rain is on its way!!!
Love to all and talk to you soon-Love, Jan
Good morning Missouri.....

Good Morning Everyone:
Just popping in to say Howdy!!! Yesterday was a kind of kick back kind of day. Didnt do awhole lot I really didnt feel that well. I ache all over and my back and stomach didnt like me at all. Today I feel great maybe it was all the walking that DH & I did on Saturday. Dont know but I so happy I am feeling better today.
I have to run a few errands here in town. Hopefully I will get them done before it rains. I have meat pulled out and defrosting in the refridge. Need to water my plants and do a few things thro the house. My F-I-L actually got up this morning and drank some milk, ate a donut, and some pork n beans. Yes, I know what a breakfast but at this point I dont care what he eats. Just as long as he will eat. He is back in bed again. I have a call in to his Doctor to see when I can get him in. Tuesday DH & I will be in Springfield for his Ortho appointment. Hopefully they can give us a date on when he can have surgery on his foot.
Well I need to get busy. We slept out in the recliners last night so I could hear if dad called out to us. And I am a little stiff need to get those kinks worked out. I pray you all have a great day. And you get a chance to enjoy this rain were suppose to be getting.
God Bless
Mel
Good morning everyone! I love the "what's happening" posts. Jan, you do an excellent job at helping everyone off to a good start in the mornings.
I finally went to my seminar at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. It was pretty much what I had expected. Dr. Hitch**** presented the information and answered all questions. My husband asked more than anyone, but I expected it as he is very protective and since I've had 9 surgeries since April of 2003, he wanted to be certain that my body could handle the surgery. I had adhesion wrapped around my small intestine, very low in my abdomen. The surgeon went in with a scope and not only did he take care of the adhesion, he also nicked my bowel. He knew he had and fixed it, however, there were a couple other places that were leaking that he missed, so I ended up being a very sick person. It looked pretty bad at one point and they called my family in, but I had a great infection disease doctor and she is the one I believe saved my life. So, my husband has the right to be protective as he wants.
Back to the seminar, there were quite a few questions and everyone seemed to be satisfied with the answers.
I received my paperwork and will turn it in this week. The time frame question was asked and we were told it takes anywhere from 4-6 months from the time of the seminar to you surgery date. This gives me the time to do what my insurance company wants me to do.
I have United Healthcare though my husband's employer. Bariactric surgery is covered with the following stips:
8 weekly sessions with Healthyroads coach before surgery
and 12 sessions post surgery;
Psychological exam;
BMI & at least 1 co-morbidity
My first session with the coach is Thursday; I'll let you know how that goes. I'm hoping for mid-July but would love it to be sooner.
Everyone have a great Monday!
Trudy
Hello Missouri,
I finished the famous patchwork sweatshirt yesterday!!! Can you say WOO HOO??
I will wear it to COF meeting on the 26th so you can all see it. I started on it before I had surgery so I had bought a 3x sweatshirt and put the patches on it. I knew it was too big so I basted it back together and ended up taking 4 inches out of the body on each side and lots out of the sleeves too. It is pretty cute, however, the $165 they want for a completed one on their website sounds pretty reasonable to me when I consider how many hours I have put into this. I used up 2 1/2 large spools of thread on it. Lots of sewing.
We went for a ride yesterday afternoon. Wanted to work outside but just too chilly and windy for us. We drove all over far northeast Springfield. Some absolute mansions out that way. I fell in love with one area that had a big creek/river running along beside the road in front of the properties which were up on a short bluff. It was breathtaking there. Don't think we'll be moving - know those places are out of our price range and I really love where we live now.
I have been making a modified taco salad that I'm sure enjoying. I make the taco meat using 97% ground beef and powdered seasoning. Measure out how much meat mixture I want to eat onto a small plate, sprinkle grated cheese, lettuce shredds and add taco seasoning and it is awesome to me. I don't even miss the tortilla chips. It just tastes so good. I haven't had anything but lettuce shredds yet. Think it may be too early for a full blown salad.
I ate corned beef, cut really fine, and it didn't set very well. John said I was eating it really fast and I expect I was because it tasted so good to me. However, having it not set too well cures one of wanting more soon. It didn't get stuck, just didn't feel really comfortable in my pouch.
All in all we had a really restful easy weekend. I leave tomorrow at noon from work to go to St. Louis for DGS's surgery on Wednesday. Thanks for all your prayers. We really appreciate them.
Oh, oh, oh, I forgot. I went to the Salvation Army Saturday and got a Coldwater Creek top and a pair of Gap jeans and paid a total of $3.60. It was 40% off day!!! I am wearing them today. The jeans are 14 and the top a large. It is almost unbelievable to me. I wore 22 jeans and 3x top 12 weeks ago. I love feeling so much healthier, can walk anywhere now and Saturday I sat down on the floor and got up without a chair or anything. WOO HOO!!!! Go me!!!
Hugs to all of you wonderful friends,
Lana
