WHATS HAPPENING....????????THURSDAY.
Oh my goodness , this weather . Will Joe and I spent most of the day tearing down the one last old building on our property. A rusted out old metal shed, we thought that this Thursday was free trash day at the Taney county trash place. Got it all down and was told it was last week. LOL naturally that is normal for us. A day late and a dollar short. Lol
I had 2 bales of straw in back of the shed and so I went around to all my hostas and things and covered them with straw. I hope it works and keeps them from freezing.
I don't know but we will keep our fingers crossed. I sure do hope so anyway.
Had to turn the heaters on in the green house again last night and tonight. I thought I was thru having to do that. Oh well at least I have a place to protect all of those little plants that I didn't plant. I knew I didn't plant those things for a reason.
Well I guess tomorrow will be spent cleaning house since I cant go outside and do anything. Sure needs it. And I guess we will go ahead and load the old shed in the truck and take it to the dump anyway. I guess we could take it to a recycle place and sell it but don't know where.
Benny: where are you guy? Are you still scheduled for surgery on the 9th? Just wondered I hadn't heard from you in a while.
Michelle: So what are you studying in school. and how far are from graduating?
Hey don't worry about your post being long. Look at mine .lol
Besides that is how we get to know you and we love meeting and getting to know new people.
Sure wish you could get a picture up on Avatar thing. So we would know who you were.
Melissa: saw the post that Terry came thru surgery just fine. Im glad and happy that God answered another prayer. Praise God.
Hey sorry about your thumb. You sound about like me , clumsy. Sounds like things I do to me all the time.
Janet: Your step sons birthday is the same day as Joes is.
Thanks for saying prayers for my flowers . lol
I sure hope they can give you something for your back to help you be pain free.
I don't know what it will be though . I have had about everything and the only thing that worked we can no longer have.
Debbie M: Was glad to read about your puppies. I know they mean a lot to you .
Hope you have luck with getting them well.
Did you have fun with your granddaughter. LOL
I know that was hard to do to tell your son no like that. But it is probably for his own good. Just another lesson in life that we have to teach even tho I think they are just as hard on us as them and sometimes even harder.
Susan:LOL I had to laugh your first line said you wanted to leave a short mess. Well are you going to clean it up after you leave us the mess? Just kidding girl Thanks for praying about my flowers. They will need it for 17 degrees. I agree that nothing is to small to ask God about. He and I talk all the time about my flowers and nature and his wonderful goodness. But panty hose. Well I would probably pray about them if I wore them but since I don't I don't. lol I know I would have to have prayer if I did.
I hope you got to meet Tammy. Did you?
Lana: You are so right that if a concern is important to us then it is important to our Heavenly Father.
And being concerned and praying for the puppy mill puppies. Is a great thing. After all they are his creatures too.
Tami: I must have been absent the day you said something about asking for prayer for a job you interviewed for. Will keep you in my prayers for the working interview tomorrow. We all know you should get it anyway. Lol
Trudy: Hey can I go with you to sea world? I love that place. It is loads of fun.
Doctor Hornbostel in Sedalia isn't taking Medicare patients now? How come? Did they say?
I will continue to pray for you and your family, Hope you have a really good time on vacation.
Well we had a couple of you girls to come on here and post today. Thanks Michelle and Trudy. . Love it when the newbies feel like they belong enough to post to this thread.
Keep it up and the more you post the most we all get to know you.
LOVE AND JOY AND PEACE ABOUNDS
JAN.
Goodmorning Jan and board..ohhh the poor plants, I am afraid I will lose some if not all my flowers, I just cried yesterday when they were hanging their little heads...it may have got the fruit trees also...
Wonder why DR. H. quit taking medicare?
I guess Alan is doing ok, I see where he is gonna be a guest speaker at the other group meeting, I was really wondering about him..everyone have a great day.....vesta
Just a quick note....I will going to meet Melissa in a little while....I am so very excited....Also....We still have plenty of raffle tickets.....I posted my parents address on an earlier post this week....The overwhelming support from my peers on this board is totally awesome and I thank each and everyone of you who have continued to lift Paula up in prayers.....
Well I better get runnin' because I have a very small group of people to give shots to this morning....and then I will be off and running to Springfield...actually I am driving my car.....lol....
God bless to everyone.....
Rachael
Good morning Everyone...............
I am going to try this again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had just about finished my post and Mattie my fur baby hit a key and wiped out everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This weather is awful, I pray that you all didn't lose all your plants.
I went out this morning to let the fur babies do their business and the wind just about cut me into!!!
I'm like Janet and everyone else I guess that has had WLS, I"M COLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I went yesterday to get groceries and while I was in the frozen food section I got so cold, I had a jacket on but my husband gave me his too!!!!!!!!!!! But I love it, I can always put on more clothes but last year I couldn't get cool enough I sweated every move I made, and you know a fat woman with not many clothes on is not a pretty sight!
Dice is doing great, thanks for all your prayers. He is running all over the place now. He got his staples out this week and the vet said he will take his cast off next week but will have to keep the pin in for several more weeks. He is getting so big!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He is only 3 1/2 months old and already is tall enough his head reaches to just above my knee and he weighs almost 30 pounds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm like Deb M. we should have named him Clifford!!!!!
I have had to go somewhere everyday this week!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I haven't had the time to get on here and catch up. I know I don't post much and I'm a lurker but I read every post. Oh my goodness the newbies are many!!!!!!!!! I can't keep up with everybody.
I have had to go do something everyday, taking dogs to the vet, taking my sister everywhere (she doesn't have a car) getting groceries, etc. and every trip I make (because we live so far out in the boonies) is usually a 40 to 100 mile round trip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But believe me I am thankful that I feel like doing it! Last year at this time I was lucky to get out of bed!!!!!!
I can't believe sometimes how much of a difference losing 103 lbs can make!
I need to get a new picture on here to show the difference from 50lb loss to 100lb loss. I will try to do that in a day or two.
I've got to go, I have to take my sister to Poplar Bluff, tomorrow I am taking my fur baby Gracie to the vet for a dental check up and they will be putting her under anesthesia to clean her teeth, please pray she will be ok.
Everyone have a blessed day!!
Brenda
Hello Missouri,
I had written a long huge post and hit a button to read an incoming work email and lost the whole thing. UGH!!!
My backyard looks as if Sanford and Son wrecked their truck in it. I didn't have enough boxes to cover my 10 peonies so I used buckets and even stock pots from my kitchen and I covered my hostas too and of course my baby lilac is wrapped in a beach towel. I just don't want to lose them if I can help it. I am not much of a gardener but I love peonies and lilacs.
I went to a store called 1/2 of 1/2 Price over by the Battlefield Mall yesterday for an hour. I needed at least 3-4 hours but it was fun. They have pretty good brands but just tons of stuff to look through. I think they get stuff from department stores that haven't sold their sale stuff. Some of the labels are cut out but you can usually tell from the quality what they are. I want to go back when I have more than a lunch hour and more $$$$ That may be never!!! However, this store will never ever replace the Salvation Army store in my affection. I love that place.
I am off work tomorrow but have an appointment in town about 11am so may go back to the 1/2 store after that. They are closed on Tuesday to put out new items so Wednesday morning was a zoo.
Hope all the new folks keep posting. We love new friends and want you to be part of our family.
Hugs and love,
Lana
Good Afternoon Jan and OH Peeps~
BURRRR LAP!! Thats ALL I want to say about this weather-guess its the only thing safe to say on the board-LOL...I agree with Brenda-last year I couldnt cool down and this year-I look like the abominal (SP?) snowman because I stack clothes on when I get cold!!
I have been busier than busy the past 2 days. I am ready to SIT and veg out! I went and saw the nurse practioner yesterday since my doc was out of town in his office in Nevada, MO....and guess what? Not only did they call in a stronger script for pain meds, they doubled the amount and then, asked me back today to see doc-at 8 am my phone rang-and so-I went back this morning and I begged him to please NOT touch my back....after my nervous breakdown yesterday from the pain-he was worried about me. I have been his pt for over 8 years-and before that knew him cause he is mikes dr as well-he said he was worried because he knows I have a strong threshold for pain-and to hear that I told the nurse that I wouldnt want to live, if I had to live with this pain for the rest of my life startled him...and he said he knew it was a lot worse than he thought-so-he looked and was very gentle. My back is now swollen from about 2 inches down my butt crack (sorry, didnt know how else to describe it) ALL the way up to my bra...both sides now-with the left side sticking out further. He told me he is ordering the MRI, we arent going to wait and see how the shots do-and that he was calling over to see if they couldnt get something scheduled a little sooner than next Weds. So, waiting for that call.
After I was done there-went over to check on Mels FIL...I am always scared to walk in to see what I am going to find. I pray constantly-I just went through all this with my grandparents 4 years ago-and while I was there last night-he looked and reminded me so much of my own grandfather-that I had to turn away because I started to cry. I just wanted to walk over and give him a big hug and tell him how much I loved him. I brought my kids with me so they could get all those plants Mel just hung from the plant hanger put into the garage so they wouldnt die. Then, he had let the dog in-so I had to put her back out-and she wasnt too pleased with that- I wouldnt be either in this weather! I may just bring her home tonite to spend the night-but afraid Bob (the FIL) would go to let her in and then freak out when he couldnt find her!
Terrys recovery is awesome-said his leg pain wise is only a 2 and his hip between a 3 and 4-he sounds wonderful-dont know anyone who has sounded that good within 24 hrs of major surgery. Thanks everyone for the prayers. Mel said he will be starting physical therapy today and then hopefully he can come home tomorrow. She said she is actually embaressed at how much he is eating!!! He has eaten more in one day than her and I eat put together in a week! I guess anesthesia makes him eat like a sow!! LOL.The only bad thing is that his room mate in the bed next to him is there for alcohol and drug withdrawl and he keeps asking Terry to give him his pain meds-WTH? Yeah-that will happen when you see a donkey fly by the window! Mel is afraid to take her pain meds for her hand/thumb-cause she doesnt want that freak to go through her purse and take her pain meds-dont blame her. He is being released today thank goodness.
Jan-what was it that you took for your back that worked that you cant take anymore? Was it that stuff they took off the market? Or is it because of the WLS? I had a vision of you and Joe taking down that shed and so now what are you gonna do? Tell Joe Happy Happy Belated B-day!!!
I got an email from Tammy last night about her visit with Dr. Scott. She got up at 1 am for her appt and didnt get home until really late. She didnt get to see Susan T up there...cant give away the news, since I know she will want to post it-but I am so excited for her. Havent heard from Susan yet-
Susan T-where are you? Let us know how your appt went-come on already!! The anxiety isnt healthy for me. LOL.LOL....want to hear what he told you, girl!
Trudy...I want to go to Seaworld too!! Maybe Jan and I will fit in a big ol suitcase...we may be a little cramped-but I have pain pills that will make us happy on the trip at least-LOL
Barb-I bet you about went into shock coming back from California and this weather, huh? Im sorry!! Hope you had a nice trip tho!
Lana....I laughed out loud when I read your post about your yard-take a pic for us, will ya? What a sight that must be! Maybe right now I am glad I dont have a green thumb....I know we wont get pears or cherries this year because of this freeze-dang it. I will have LOTS of apples to bring you all at the meeting though and they are really good in pies! That store-if its the same one-we have it here too-called Name Brand Clothing? I love that place. We have found the best deals ever there!!! I agree, it takes forever to go through everything-and our Salvation Army here stinks, so NBC is my next best choice!
Michelle, thanks for the prayers-what kind of back surgery did you have to have? Im just curious-and it was before your WLS, correct? Please forgive me-I cant remember when and all of that because there are so many newbies on line-that I actually bought a little notebook yesterday to keep track of you all and who your drs are and surgery dates or pre-op etc....I dont like that I cant remember sometimes-but I am so happy to see everyone-that means that word of mouth or whatever for the MO board is good and that we are a good bunch to belong to-so I love seeing all the new faces!
Deb and Brenda-glad the fur family is better-I have been praying for them, as well as others here.
Sherr, Andrew-where are you guys? Hope your ok.
I hope sugar and julia are recouperating well and getting better each second!
Well, I am gonna go now. Have been running behind with everything going on and I have a lot of catching up to do and some housework etc. I will tt you all soon....Love to all, Janet
