I spent most of the day getting weeds out of my flower beds. I put all of them up I can get and throw them over the fence to my neighbors chickens. They get all excited because they have ate every bit of green stuff out of their pen. I planted several packages of seeds yesterday. I know it isnt May first but I am betting on the weather staying warm. Please God. I think my Iris are going to bloom even after all of that frost we had , they are starting to get buds on them. So I am hopefull. The foliage doesn't look good and healthy , there is a lot of yellow on it and spots like we have had lots of rain. So don't know what is going to happen but I sure hope they bloom since they really are my favorite flower of all time. Tomorrow early I am planting my little trees that I have been holding in pots. They are all growing so well . I have a mimosia, a red bud and 2 short crab apple trees. Need to get them in the ground and out of the green house. I have had them out since the frost was over so they have been getting use to the outdoors lol Stopped at a garage sale yesterday, got a gas b-b-q- grill for one dollar. Lol the people was wanting to get rid of all of this stuff really bad. Brought it home and cooked supper on it tonight. Joe really likes a charcoal grill better but I though that we could use it if we had more company than the other grill would handle at times. My son is coming down tomorrow and then we are going to go see the Promise, the play he is in in Branson. And he is taking us out to dinner afterwards. I got so worried about Andrew not getting on her or answering my messages I left on his machine that I got in touch with his pastor. Lol. It's not nice to worry Mama Jan like this. I will hunt you down. Lol Still haven't heard from him but I do know that he and Susan are ok. LOL. Talked to Sugar, she got the drain out today but she still has the pockets of fluid in there somewhere. She will have to explain it to you. I am at a loss which I think her doctors are too. They say it is very strange and they have never seen it before. But are sure that there has been someone somewhere that has had it before. I just hate it that it has to be my baby sister. Hopefully it will resolve itself. I called today and set up my next series of shots in my knees again starting on May 1st. They are getting really bad and I can barely walk at times. Part of it im sure is all the bending and stooping I am doing planting and pulling etc. So what is everyone's plans for the week end? Mine are always about the same as any other day. Already told you about tomorrow and Sunday we will go to Lowes and return some stuff and pick up some new stuff. Not anything too exciting. BRENDA: You were right on the church name. Once you collaborated to me that it was in Ironton I went on the angel food network and got the name of the church and yep it is the Nazarene church in Ironton. I knew that to be right because I know he helps with doleing out the food once a month. I don't know why he isnt answering his messages on his phone but they are ok, his pastor says. Glad the puppy is getting better and will soon be back to normal. God does watch over all of his creations doesn't he? SUSAN T: So happy that you are getting your sleep study done so early so not much of any thing there to hold you back now is there. Am so anxious to meet you in person on Monday night. Wish I could help you on a name of a good motel in Springfield, There are several I know but never have stayed in Springfield.lol Oh the vine that I meant to tell you is the black eyed susan vine. They are about the same color as a sunflower anyway lol. Sometimes I don't know where my mind goes but I guess it has a good time because when it gets back it is like it has been on vacation. LOL Ive been wondering where Tammy is too. Hello girl . JANET: man it sounds like someone had you doing a wild goose chase. LOL don't think anything of it about the Hummers. Lol Leave it to men tha is for sure. That just about takes the cake. Also loved the story of your step son and all that happened. PAM: Really glad that your are going to come to our meeting on Monday that is great. Debbie: I certainly hope you will get loads of strawberries. Mine I have are in a bed and they didn't seem to mind the cold at all. Isnt that amazing what God will do for us and I know that all of my ideas What a pretty little granddaughter you have. She is so cute. Thanks for giving the shout out to all the MIAs on the Missouri Board. I don't know why so many people who are working when they first come on the board. Well I am falling asleep here on Friday night and only 11 pm so I guess I will put this on stop and go ahead and post it. LOVE AND JOY AND PEACE ABOUNDS JAN

Good Morning Momma J & Peeps, I loved reading all the posts, and catching up. I am so mad, everything I have planted from seed is doing great, EXCEPT the darn TOMATOES.....they are just soooo fragile and tiny, they keep dying on me. My Squash and CUkes are doing really well. Momma J, there was a "Master Gardener" on public tv channel that talked about using 3 pounds of epson salts in with fertilizer, said it does great things for grass. I am slowly getting the projects on the house completed, as I told you guys, got a new roofing company, and the roofing supply place was able to give me the 35 year architecural shingles for the 3 tab price, so my house will really look nice when it's done, which should be today!! Then, I have hired my dad's fav. master electrician out of Poplar Bluff, to do a total "re-wire, update & light fixture change out" of my house and my workshop. He and I still working on his "scope of services" but I think it's the best money after a new roof, that I could have spent. All the outlets & switches will be re-wired to current code, and have new recepiticles wired in. I am getting GFIs and am so glad to trash these old timey exterior fixtures for new ones. Now I just have to find a place (besides Lowe's as I couldn't find anything I really loved there) that sells exterior light fixtures. KEEP THE GARDENING TIPS COMING....they all sound so neat. Sherr

I have lots to do this am such as cultivating our garden space and getting some things planted. Then the usual of laundry and cleaning. I have a friend coming over who needs help with bookwork. So the day will be busy. I have been back to work this week and as ususal every day has been different. God continues to bless me with good health. Jan you ask about DX for my husband. He had open heart 2 years ago - also new heart valve but he has had vascular insufficiency for years so his legs give him much trouble. He has had 3 different bypasses in legs with artificial veins the last time about 9 years ago. He has neuropathy, and diabetes and all of it works together on him. I am the driving force that makes him keep on going. Imagine that!!! LOL Will be thinking of you on Monday night as we also have our meeting on the same nite. We started with 4 the first meeting, 9 last meeting and hope we have more this time. All your work in the yard and greenhouse sound great. Have a great weekend. Colette

Dear Jan and OH Peeps~ Wow was it nice yesterday. Jon and I went to finish up some errands in town and came home and wrapped Mels presents and got my salad prepped etc. I had done all the laundry excepts hubbys work stuff-because it requires more attention etc-AND he was still wearing one that needed to go with the others, he has to wear dress pants, and ties IF he isnt wearing one of Sharps Logo polos. We wanted to re-drain the pool and start painting it-but they are calling for rain from Sun-Thurs-so.....we gotta put it off AGAIN...I hope this isnt like the summer of 2005 when it rained on and off for 6 weeks and we couldnt get it painted!! I will just cry-cause we really HAVE to power wash to get the peeling paint off and then re-paint this year-no exceptions-just need a week of sun-no rain!! Im very exctied about it this year-for the excercise factor AND because it has 3 steps leading into the shallow end-and there is no hand rail-and I always needed someones hand to hold to get out-and I dont think I will this year-WOO HOO!!!~~~ I think Jon was more excited about Mels b-day than she was!! He unwrapped all her presents basically-because he knew what they were and he couldnt wait for her to see them!! It was so cute and we got some really really cute pictures of the two of them together...he even offered to let her leave a couple of things here-LOL LOL-he fell asleep before she got her carrot cake and he asked me this morning where it went- Today I BELIEVE I am going to have lunch with my girls I didnt get to have lunch with last weekend because they had a baby shower that they had to go to-and got the Saturdays mixed up! They have not seen me since Sept or Oct of last year! I am so excited. One of them is looking into wls-and wants to talk to me about that as well....Told her that I would answer anything she wanted to know about and even go to the seminar with her. I got a chance to show Mel my new Nova last night-and the Suburban we are buying. We are getting rid of the Santa Fe I have because we just cant afford those high payments we have on it anymore. I was working when we got it-and they werent a problem then, but ever since I had to go on disability-the 600 a month just kills us. We were upside down when we bought it-causing our payments to be high. Good warranty, but still not worth what we are paying.....oh well~At least I am alive and feeling better emotionally, but the surgery really did us in financially since my spenddown each month was almost 1,500-so much for a disability, huh? Having 4 kids at home, there was no way we can do that and insurance through Mikes work for him is free-but over 300 for each additional person. We were going to put me on it, but when we sent the app through.....they would have pre-x'd everything for 18 months and so we would have been paying that much for them not to pay anything on my knees, wls, and now back-so I decided not to go that route and wait for my medicare to kick in in Sept of this year. His insurance isnt all that good anyway because his company is very small and so his deductible and co ins are very high-which happens with a smaller company, but its SOMETHING-so.........catch 22. Jon and I are going to transplant those flowers today. Didnt get to it yesterday because by the time we got home and I lugged everything back into the house-my back was gone.....I was so bummed out! So, I am not doing anything before I go to lunch and when I get home we are doing his flowers....Cant wait!! I may even stop and purchase more seeds or marigolds before I get home to put them in some window box planters I bought a couple weeks ago. Mel brought me over those cute jeans with the lace on the pockets and some other capris, some shirts and a bathing suit...cant wait to try the stuff on-and I am keeping my fingers crossed that something will fit-LOL....I feel like I am on a standstill-losing some weight, but not going into smaller sizes~~ Well, I am getting off here and getting ready for my day! I am glad Tammy is doing well-and that we will meet Susan Monday-and that she gets her sleep study done tonite-Im so excited!! Well, I hope everyone has a good weekend and is safe-Love and prayers-Janet

Morning All... I so sorry to hear about Andrew's Mom! They have been through so much lately! My prayers will go out to him and Susan! My pastor's wife's Dad passed a few days ago but like Andrew's Mom, we knew it was coming. He had, had several heart attacks over the years, it was just a matter of time before one of them took him home. I had to call Jason and let him know. He had stayed with Earl for awhile, being his caregiver. Jason took it pretty hard...I told him to go in and get Wendy and to hold her a little closer and tighter that evening, that it would help! I could tell over the phone his heart was breaking They say the older we get the more family we lose...it doesn't make it any easier! As for my day, I'm going outside to work more. I going to get the mower out and get some of this property cleaned up! My daughter is wanting me to come get Timothy for the night. She's hinting around that maybe I promised the boy...I can't remember for sure but I will have to go get him because I have ALWAYS told that boy that I would never lie to him (unless it was to save his life) and that I would NEVER break a promise and that is one constant in that boy's life that I will not take away...his bond with me! He knows no matter what, he can always trust this grandma and that I will ALWAYS be there for him...well at least until the Lord takes me home! I am a grandma of my word!...lol Well, not much to say today....I will check in later...God Bless us ALL, Deb M
