Protein Drinks
Hi, Missouri Peeps!
I really need your help! I've got to get more protein in and have yet to find a protein drink I can tolerate. I had my hair done yesterday and my long time hairdresser really scolded me. Apparently, I have begun to lose a lot of hair and I'm only about 6 weeks out. She made me a protein drink from a brand she bought at Walmart and I was actually able to drink it. It was chocolate, however, can't remember the name of it. I've noticed several of you use the "ON" brand. My question is, is it the 100% Gold Standard (which has the Rocky Road flavor) in the black jug with the black label or the 100% Natural Whey Gold Standard which comes in the white jug with the black and silver label and comes in Vanilla, Strawberry or Chocolate?
I did a search and found a couple websites you mentioned, Bulk Nutrition and Vitacost which I believe have the cheapest price for the On products. How about the cheapest place to purchase the Syntax Nectar? I ordered a couple samples from another website and liked the twisted cherry.
Thanks so much for your help and any suggestions you may have!
Debbie D.
Hi Debbie
Pure Whey Stack is a protein powder you mix with water, milk or whatever - I got my samples from vitalady.com You can order Unjury from http://www.unjury.com they also have samples.

Debbie the On whey we all like and enjoy is in the black label. I like the vanilla ice cream because i can mix what ever i want with it and make what ever taste i want. The one i have right now is black label with white jug. I dont think i have ever had one that was a black jug. I have used the rocky road tho. so i dont know. lol is there a lot of difference in the ingredients on the two.
I just looked mine is the 100% Gold Standard but is a white jug with black label.
how much protein are you gettin in a day now? I try to get about 90grams daily . I still lost some hair but not like a lot of people have. I never went bald and i have loads of new baby hair already growing in. So my solution was to cut it really super short to help blend in the baby hair. Jan
Mama Jan:
I know that's the name Sherr uses but I've decided to use it too! (I don't think she'll mind!)
Sherr emailed me and told me the black jug is really a black label on the white jug...glad she cleared that one up for me! I was getting really confused!
I'm not getting in over 30 grams of protein a day. I did order some samples from vitalady yesterday and went to Walmart and got the Body Fortress brand my hairdresser had me drink earlier this week. It has 23 grams of protein and 1 gram of Sugar and 2 grams of carbs. It tastes just like chocolate milk, not too thick. I think that's why I couldn't drink the stuff I bought at Vitamin World, just too thick! I am going to really work on getting at least 70 grams of protein a day. I'm going to order some of those protein bars from the fresh bakery website you sent me today too. My hairdresser told me it would be best to cut my hair really short so that the thin spot on the back of my head would blend in more. It's really cute and I've gotten a lot of compliments from it! I'm hoping by exercising more and getting more protein in I will have more energy and my hair won't all fall out!
Take care,
Debbie D.

Hi Debbie D. - well it's all really personal opinion but I really prefer Isopure it's so smooth and creamy I bought a sample pack and got to try out 6 or 7 flavors and really liked all of them EXCEPT the peanut butter & chocolate (I've just never BEEN a peanut butter person it just ruined the chocolate) oh well - Haha I put my 2 cents worth in!
I've tried the Walmart Chocolate and as long as you mix the dickens out of it - it's OK... I put it in Instant SF pudding - put the protein in the MILK first mix it up with a mixer really good then put the pudding in and blend for 2 minutes - chill and it's loverly truly LOVERLY...

Patricia:
Where can you buy a sample pack of the Isopure? Would like to try different ones. I've only ordered samples of ON and Nectar.
Do you use a whole package of SF pudding in with your protein mix? Does it make it really thick but has the consistency of pudding? May have to try that one!
How is your weight loss coming? I think you had your surgery either shortly before or after I did. (I had mine on March 5th of this year).
Take care,
Debbie D.

Hi nutti,
I have bought a protein powder from Wal*Mart - it's called Body Fortress 100% premium Whey Protein Powder, it has 23g of protein and 1g of sugar per serving.
It's usually on the bottom shelf where the protein bars are. It's in a 2lb white jug with a brown and orange label, I believe I paid $14.99 for it last time.
The Ensure is a meal replacement that is used a lot for elderly people that do not eat, but I don't know about protein content.
The ON (Optimun Nutrition) brand that I use is 100% Instantized Whey Gold Standard which is the white jug with the black label, has 24g of protein and 1g of sugar.
I like both brands but I do mix them really well.
The vitamin I use is Optisource - post bariatric surgery formula - this is what my doctor told me to use. I also take Caltrate 600+D plus minerals. Both of these are chewable. Hope this is helpful.
