Lynette: Yes, you can buy a protein mix at Walmart. The name is Body Fortess 100% Premium Whey. It has 23 grams of protein, 2 gram of Sugar and 2 grams of carbs. It's $11.97 for a 2 lb jug. I bought the chocolate but it also comes in vanilla. I'm not sure if ensure is a protein drink or not? What does the label say? The board really seems to like ON which is Optimum Nutrition. The cheapest place I've found is the one Sherr told me about Bulknutrition.com. You can order sample packs from vitalady.com which is what I did earlier this week. Who is doing your surgery? Dr. Hornbostel in Sedalia, MO did mine. I buy the chewable vitamins thru his office. They are specially formulated for people who have had weight loss surgery and have everything we need in them. They are $25 a bottle which is a month's supply. I think you can order them thru Walgreens as well. It's made by Resource and is called Optisource. I wish you well and I'm glad you found this board. The Missouri Peeps are the BEST! Take care, Debbie D. P.S. May I call you "nutti" since that's the name you used on your message? I kinda like it! lol!

The Nectar has been the easiest for me to drink. I get the iced tea flavor and mix it in my rasberry ice crystal lite (actually the walmart brand). It tastes like rasberry tea. They had several flavors too . I orderd mine on-line but some stores caryy it just not where I live. Good luck, Dannielle

Dannielle: I like the Nectar product too. The two I've tried are the Fuzzy Navel and the Twisted Cherry. Does the iced tea flavor have lemon in it? I HATE lemon tea. Otherwise, I might try it. Do you know what stores might carry the Nectar products? I live close to Overland Park, KS. Would love to find a store nearby that carried these products. Thanks so much! Debbie D.

Hi Debbie, I have bought a protein powder from Wal*Mart - it's called Body Fortress 100% premium Whey Protein Powder, it has 23g of protein and 1g of sugar per serving. The ON (Optimun Nutrition) brand that I use is 100% Instantized Whey Gold Standard which is the white jug with the black label, has 24g of protein and 1g of sugar. I like both brands but I do mix them really well. Hope this is helpful. Brenda
