Dearest Claudette,
I wanted to respond to you to tell you that I LOVE to see you post-I love to listen to you and what you have to say-AND your personal experiences-I feel blessed to be able to attend a support group with someone who is over 5 years post op-and feels that we are worthy of your knowledge and your time, your concern AND your success!
Sometimes, yes, there are misunderstandings....its unfortunate, but one of the reasons I love the Missouri board AND the COF group is that we LOVE and CARE for each other so much-that we ARE willing to work it out-that makes us close-and that is just part of life!
I love the fact that everyone is uplifting and cares for one another-but I also like it that you guys will call us out if we are messing up and make us accountable for it-who knows, for myself-if I had known then, what I know now-or would have had someone willing to stand up and kick me in the A$$ when I needed it-maybe......you know what I mean?
I just wanted to let you know that for every one whiner who emails you privately (so that we all dont see what they have to say and get on to them most likely) there are 10-20 of us who would get something good out of it-so IF you ever see something I have posted and you have an opinion or something you want to say-if you dont want to post to me here-please send me an email-because I VALUE anything you would want to say or share with me-whether its a swift kick in the pants-OR- a suggestion. You have been there-done that-and I know you care-it shows and you wouldnt be this far out taking the time to lead a group of us-IF you didnt care and IF you didnt know what you were talking about. I personally LOVE YA-and if someone wants to snivel and whine-we will just ask them if they want some cheese with that-right? LOL-I even say that about myself sometimes???? Ok-this is long enough-just wanted you to know that-and LETS see if WE cant see each other this month, huh? Have missed ya~ Hope all is well with your testing-you were in my prayers. Love, Janet

Dear Claudette: this is Dr. Hornbostel. Keep in mind that if you do indeed have what is called a "marginal ulcer" at this late date after your surgery, it MAY (but isn't always) be the first indication of a fistula to your distal stomach (if you had a RNY bypass), and many physicians are not aware of this. Best wishes! Sincerely, PMH
Hi Claudette,
I wouldn't worry about the turn of that thread as I heard your message loud and clear and I think everyone else did to. It seems as though perhaps some in the thread had an axe to grind.
I hope you continue to post because I truly miss the wisdoms and experiences of the long term post ops. And yes sometimes tough love is hard to hear for some (me included at times
) lots of people appreciate it. I'm a rather blunt person myself so I can totally relate.
