I'm home!!! Again!!
I want to start off by staying Thank you so much for all of your prayers and support while I was in the hospital. IT WORKED!!
First thing they did in Columbia, which I hope that no one ever has to go through was to take my drain site and reopen it with a pair of scissors!! Oh HELL NO!!
But, CT scans (2 of them) and upper GI all came back normal. (although it wasn't pleasant going thru them). Thank god! I wasn't looking forward to another surgery.
Turns out that I started out with an infection around my drain site and spread from there. I remember feeling some pain twinges around there, and a little in my back, but just fiured it was still sore from the surgery. Went to my PCP on that Monday, had him look, he said all looked good. (last time I trust him). 4 days later I'm on my way to Columbia by ambulance. What a trip!!
Anyway, after 5 days of IV antibiotics, 3 NPO...ugh! My white cell count is back to normal, have'nt had a fever for 1 day. I'm feeling 110% better, just very tired! Doc has me off work for another 10 days. ( i think i went back to soon). So i'm gonna be sure to get tons of rest.
I tell you, after his experience, my focus is in a different place now...it's about listening ot my body, knowing when it says something is wrong, it usually is and won't go away by itself. Second, get things looked at sooner, don't sit on it! And the biggest I've learned is to take care of me, stop focusing on how much weight i'm losing and be sure I'm doing everything I need to stay healthy!"
Thanks for all your prayers all! I'm so very greatful!!
Pam
