Okay...today is such a drab day. I have no energy at all. I feel like I just want to sleep all day. Is this normal? I felt the same way yesterday and I literally slept from 6pm to 9pm, got up took a shower and went back to sleep by 10pm and slept until this morning. I did have a little energy when I woke up but it is depleting fast. Also how do you know if you are getting dehydrated. I don't think I am but I just want to know what to watch for. Any other suggestions on some stage 2 foods. Im getting burnt out on soups and jello. Thanks

Hi Chante I know exactly what you mean, I feel tired all the time, i'm having alot of trouble sleeping at night though. Which I think is why i'm so tired during the day. I'm taking my vitamins faithfully, got the b-12 shot from my pcp, so i'm good there. Taking the thiamin daily as well as mulitivitamin twice a day. I'm getting most of my protein in i think, I drink 2 protein shakes, then get the rest through my meals with soups, cottage cheese, eggs, etc. The problem I have is the 64 oz of fluids. Seems like I sip and sip, but just can't get it in.  I did get set back from the infection I had, so that might be contributing. I am going to see Dr. DLT next week for follow up, I'm gonna talk to him about it. I'm supposed to go back to work, and I'm not sure how I'll get thru a day if I still feel like I do now.  So I'm looking forward to seeing what responses you get. I want to start feeling better, I want to get out and about, start exercising etc.  Good Luck! Pam

Everyone reacts to post surgery differently, but in general I think you need to make sure you're getting in all of your vitamins, all of your protein, and all of your water. In addition, you need to force yourself to start moving some by walking, walking, walking. These things allow you to burn the fat and allow the protein to kick in and start building your muscles up which will give you energy. Trust me, I know it isn't easy, but you've got to force yourself into being active. Plus, I think you need to get out of your environment and into different scenery. It's amazing how much better you'll feel when people see you and tell you how great you're starting to look. Good luck.

Thank you so much for the insight!!! I do notice that when I finally talk myself into moving I do gain a little more energy...it's the talking myself into that gets me stumped. I will definitely take your advice. Thanks a bunch
