I have a question about immediate post-op...... My Lap RNY is on Tuesday.   My question is:  Will I be able to go up and down steps when I get home?     We live in a 2-story.  I'm wondering if I can come downstairs (bed is upstairs) every day? I know everyone is different in their repair time, but will you tell me what you think? I'm trying to plan on what will be needed when I get home Thursday. Thank you, Beca

Hi Beca, I have a two story also and I was able to go up and down. I wouldn't recommend going up and down, up and down...but if you go up stay up for a little bit and if you go down, stay down for a little bit. Hope this helps....

I had OPEN RNY and I climbed that steps in my house after only one day in the hospital. You should be okay but you will know what you can handle, just go SLOW!!!!!! Tami
