I am new and have a question!!
I am scheduled to have surgery on the 20th and start the liquids on Wednesday!! The dietacian had mentioned once that their is a orderless/tasteless protein shake? Does anyone know about this because I can not find it anywhere!! Also, any advice would be great, I think I am more scared about the 2 weeks of liquids than I am about the surgery!!!! Thanks :)
Beth
HI there!
I am scheduled to have my surgery on the 13th, so we are close together. After I seen your post I looked up on the net what I could about protein shakes that are tasteless and odorless. I found one called, AnyWhey. I believe you can get it at GNC. I have never tried it though. I am sucking down what protein I have on hand before I buy anymore. If you buy it, let me know if you like it. Where are you having your surgery? I am having mine at Columbia. Dr. Fearing is my doctor. Talk to you later.

Thanks for the information, I was at GNC and they said they had never heard of one! Now I have a name, I might have better luck: :) Good luck to you, that is very soon:> Do you have to do the 2 weeks liquids also? I am having mine at NewStart here in STL. My doctor is Dr. Richardson!! If you have made it almost a week so far, any suggestions!!! I found a protein shake that is not that bad, but I can not imagine drinking it 3 times a day!!! :( Let me know, and good luck to you :)

I have to do the two week liquid diet also. I accidently left my diet plan in Columbia when I handed it along with some other papers to the preop nurse. So I am not sure if I am suppose to be doing a clear liquid diet or a full liquid diet. I have been sticking with the clear liquid until this weekend. I bought some fruit flavored drinkd from GNC and there is only so much of them I can take. Grape is the best. I have been going to the frig and guzzling 1/3 of the bottle three times a day. I figure I would just take it like medicine. This weekend I started using Carnation instant breakfast in the blue box also. It helps a little. I drink broth during my meals which helps alot. Its the protein that really keeps me from getting that hungry. I have faced a few times of the cravings when someone else was eating but it hasn't been that bad. They say if we can make it through the two week diet before we should have it made. Well this is day 6 and it is almost over. I am calling my doctor's office tomorrow to have them fax me my diet plan. If I have any tips in there I'll let you know.

Unjury makes a tasteless protein drink but I think you have to order it online. I suggest that you just start trying regular flavors. You are going to be using protein drinks for a long time so if you can do the cheaper, easier ones it will simplify your life. Most people on here use the ON Gold Whey vanilla from Food 4 Less and then flavor it with extracts and SF DaVinci syrups. The problem I have with the unflavored Unjury is that you can't use it in anything over 130 degrees and I wanted it for broths. As far as broths, I have a suggestion. Make regular Campbell canned soups and drain off the solids and drink the broth. Tastes way better than bouillion or the canned broths. I order the AnyWhey bullets off the internet and that's the way I get extra protein in. I like the grape. If you have questions, let me know.
Hugs,
Lana
Dear Beth,
A lot of us here use what is called Optimum Nutrition (or ON) Gold Standard 100% Instantized Whey...they make all kinds of flavors-but the vanilla, strawberry and chocolate are my favs and have been doing them since August-faithfully-they do not smell and they actually taste good-You can find this at Food 4 Less for $14 for 2# tub (abt 30 or so shakes) or $29 for the 5.5# shake AND that makes about 80 or so. It has like 1 sugar and 2 carbs, so they are good. Very recommended by our site. IF you do not have a Food 4 Less near you-you can also get it at GNC-only they are almost double the price of the grocery store-I found a web site that offers it for the same prices as Food 4 Less with a flat fee shipping of $5.95.....Good luck Beth, and IF you have any other questions-let us know....Janet
