when you think of eating , think about what you are giving it up for ok? As i like to say. Keep your Eye on the Prize. I know yeah yeah that is easier said than done. But right now it is just simple will power. when you think you are hungry drink a big glass of water. drink some broth, eat some jello , doesnt matter how much of all of this you eat ad drink just keep on. I will be praying for you.

Hope you get to come to the COF meeting on the 25th. Will see if i can find you a ride if possible. Would love to meet you.

Humans are creatures of habit ...  you have to start by identifying what it is that brings you to situations where you find yourself eating.  Alter those habits so that you don't find yourself in the normal routine that would bring you to food.   Ok... in layman's terms *s*....  alter your day.  If you find that you get settled in front of the tv and that THAT is when you start reaching for munchies, then don't set in front of the tv.  Alter that habit.  Change it to something else.  Go for a walk. If it is later in the day where you cannot go for a walk then do some stairs (if you have steps in your house) etc.   Find something that you can "plug" into that time period where you have changed the behaviour to something good.  Then make SURE that you give yourself credit for that change.  I call them mental HIGH FIVES... or atta girls....   Like Jan states... keep your eye on the prize...  find whatever it is that will serve to motivate you and then go for it!!!! Hang in there kiddo...we are all pulling for you! Elizabeth---->

Nutti,

I know you find this hard to believe but this 2 weeks is probably the hardest thing you'll go through for many months.  The surgery itself is usually not too bad and the slight pain only lasts a few days.  After that you won't need to worry about food because your diet is limited by your Dr/Nutritionist and your dear lovely pouch.  So, look at it as getting the worst out of the way first.

When thoughts of eating come to you, get on the computer, read a book, do anything you like to do that keeps you busy.  Do you know how to crochet or knit?  Anything that takes your mind to another place.  Also, drink, eat SF popcicles, eat SF jello with SF Cool Whip, and you could actually drink Diet Soda for these two weeks if it wouldn't make you want to continue with it after surgery which is a NO NO!!!

You can do this.  I know it's hard, my liquid diet time frame included Christmas Eve and Christmas Day!!!  Challenging.

Hugs to you and I'll be praying for you.

I am on day 9 of my liquid diet. I think the thing that has helped me the most is being around people who can hold me accountable. Everyone at work know and I spent the weekend with family. I sipped on my bulion while others are eating or take a nap while my husband cooks his dinner.  I honestly can say it has been easyer then I thought it would be. Please ask if you have an other questions.  Do crafts. Get on the boards.  -Erin

WOW thanks yall! what a day to start this...lol a real test of my resolve for sure... I have a teenage daughter(15) and deal with those issues.... this morning at 5am I was wide awake and stewing about our latest issue...not good....but here it is 4pm and I have had 2 shakes with 3 to go and a sf popsicle.    is it me but do these shakes taste sweet to anyone else...I mixed some frozen peaches in the first 2.  and I will make some jelloo...never thought about that. thanks. I am not a TV watcher but lots of time spent on the computer. and Im deep into a miniature project so that does help keep the mind occupied.  thanks for all the suggestions. and encouragement....15 days to go nutti:wave:

Wow! That is wonderful!  It's such a short time.  When you feel you can't make it through think of where you will be in a month....6 months...a year.  It will be easier to breath, walk, exercise and enjoy life.   This is for you.  What you need to live!  Your new life is just around the corner and you can see the old life in the rearview!  Keep heading down that road! Hugs, Bel
