Never!!! I go to a community college and I'm no where near the oldest student there (27 y/o).  You wont feel out of place. You will find a group of study buddies and all will go well, I swear. Going back to school was the best thing I have done. Image and video hosting by TinyPic

You are not to old to go back to school. I'just got done at OTC where they are people in their 60's taking classes. It may take a little time to get back in the swing of things, but go for it. I just a few years younger than you and I am working on bachelors degree in social work and I have at least three more years left. If I can do you can.

GO FOR IT !!!!!!

It is so amazing what happens when you go back to school!  It is a bit scary at first, but then you get all kinds of confidence! I think that if that is what you want to do, go for it!  There will be people there from every age group and there's a great chance to meet new friends! Good Luck!

Tammy let me explain something here. I am forty yrs old and in school now. Not only am I forty but I haven't had a job in 17 yrs!!! yes count them 17 looong yrs. I stayed home to care for my chidren. Now, I am in school and have been in school for 4 yrs because I have changed my major three times. I have two semesters left and then I will be done. Never sell yourself short girl. We are never to OLD to follow our dreams. Will some people think I am too old to hire or that because I haven't had a job in 17 yrs that I am not suited for their job!! YES   BUT, there is going o be someone out there to hire me and when they hire me I will work for them to show I am a good worker and then I will ask for what I am entitled to. If they don't want to pay I will have the experience to move to someone who will pay me. You are the predictor of your future. Only you can take yourself to where you want to go.  So, be confident in yourself, get out there, go to school, and show those young kids in your class that you are just as smart if not smarter than them. You can do this. I know you can.  PS I also went last year for my certificate but loved the program and stayed in to get my associates. So at the end of may I will hav my certificate and my degree in Health Information Technology Good luck Hugs  Chelle

Hello Tammy! NOOOOOOOO! You are NOT too old to go to college! As a matter of fact, my old alma mater, Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas, just graduated a woman at age (are you ready??) 95!!!!!!! I am not kidding! She is now in the Guinness Book of World Records!  Also, I am 48, and on my birthday, September 8th, will start working toward my master's in Christian Counseling which I can complete in a year. I was a probation officer for 23 years before an injury sidelined me and put me on full disability. I got tired of sitting around feeling sorry for myself, so I got my butt up and decided to do something! I am also taking sign language, and hope to incorporate it in my counseling.  Sooooo, I guess what I am saying is YOU GO GIRL!!!!!!!! Best Wishes, LaNeta                                             In The Pool
