need some answers pls

hi my name  is Sheila i went to seminar in sedalia in feb got my drs approval and my psych done and now my 1st appt with Dr H is Aug 29th...can u tell me younes experience as to what happened at 1st appt and how fast it all happens and i do have medicare  and how that works...tks for any input u can give me

Welcome to the board!!!

I had my RNY last Aug 17 and Dr. Hornbostal did mine.

I have lost to date 115 lbs!! I am very, very happy I had it done!!!!

I went to the seminar in April had my first appointment to see Dr. H. in May and had surgery in August.

Dr. H. just talked to me and said I was a canidate for surgery and asked if I had any questions. That was pretty much it. I have Medicare also. Dr. H's office sent everything in for me on the Insurance. You are welcome to read my profile if you want it has fat pictures of me and also I wrote my surgery experience day in there too. You might like to read it because I pretty much wrote it hour by hour as to what happened to me on surgery day. Let me know if you have any other questions.

WElcome Sheila,    I had surgery nov, 05 and Doc H  did mine too.  I went to seminar in Sept, and had surgery in nov. 2005.  That was before we kept telling everyone about him.  I had Medicaire and was approved one week after they submitted the papers.  I also had Medicaire plus a co-pay insurance.  Good Luck, Colette

hey gals,    good morning! i wanna tks for ur input! it helped  alot and anytime u think of some thing let me know, do have another Q, did medicare require u to be on a supervised diet with ur Dr be4 approving you? and keep all the good work up!!! cant wait till im on the losers bench with you...again what does NUT sound for? and whats a binder??? ya im a blonde lol

Medicare doesnt require pre approval--- so no supervised diet before approval. But there is prep work before surgery that includes a liquid diet to shrink the liver-- as told by Dr. H at his May seminar.
