Slowed weight loss 2 weeks post op.
I've had problems as well but I know what my issues is.. I need to make sure I'm getting enough fluids in, eating enough and, getting my walking in. Most of your weight loss at first is water weight.. as you regulate your water weight the loss will be slightly slower because then you are burning fat. At least your scale hasn't stopped. I'm 3 and a 1/2 weeks out and only down 16 pounds. I"m working on fixing my above problems... and I'll lose more. Good luck. and I agree, weigh only weekly even though we know at this point we love the scale. Denise

Cheryl... Your body is undergoing some major changes. It cannot operate on full throttle weight loss wise 24/7. It is not uncommon to hit your first plateau phase right around 2-4 weeks. Some hit it earlier (like you did) and other'**** it around the fourth week. It scares the bejeebies out of you for sure. You just know that you are going to be the "one" that this surgery doesn't work for. Honey, we have all been there, done that and got the t-shirt *s* It IS scary when you are going through it. I can full well remember those days myself. My situation was that I was changing size wise and measurement wise but the scale wasn't moving nearly as much. My beloved husband drug my happy hindend out to good old Wallyworld and had me try on clothes to PROVE his point. I was changing. It was obvious to everyone but me.... Make sure that you are drinking oodles scads and bunches of clear fluids. As I posted to Elisa. Our fat is metabolized and excreted from our body in our wastes. I know, sounds loverly doesn't it? EWWWWWWWWWW but it is true. Don't overload your little liver and kidneys anymore than they have to by restricting the water on them. They need it. You need it. Flush that fat right outta your bod my dear. Plus it is good for the complexion! Make sure that you are getting in good proteins as well.... take your measurements so that you can see that changes in the tape that might not be reflected in the scale... Best wishes and hang in there. You are doing a remarkable job! Elizabeth --------->
Anything WORTH having is WORTH working for !
Hi Paul~ When I started I was 199 (the day of surgery). Today I am at 177. I am exactly 19 days out today. It seems like when I try to exercise or do anything that I don't feel like is strenuous at the time---later on I pay for it. My left side (where she made the big incision) causes me pain. So, I am at a loss on what to do. I guess I will call the nurse tomorrow and talk to her. Thanks for replying. :) Cheryl
