Hi everyone, Wow-what an exhausting day!! I am finally home-and feel like I have been run over several times by a mack truck-LOL.. Surgery details: The surgrey took a lot longer than we thought it would-and so we were all getting a little anxious and nervous... I still do not have ALL the details-as we only got to talk to 2 out of the 3 surgeons-still havent heard from him yet(the 3rd one)-they said he would be making the rounds tomorrow and would see us then. Mel lost an ovary and fallopian tube, they removed a mass/tumor the size of a large peach. They did end up getting everything out of there that didnt belong there and those have been sent off to pathology (all that were in there), but surgeon said that they did NOT look like cancer (thank you, God!). They will now be able to check into some options later...(YAY)  Then-they removed ALL the abscess that she had-which was one of the worst ones they had seen-they said it had been there much longer than anyone ever guessed it, but they did manage to remove all of that infection and get it scraped out. (YAY again)....then, even though we didnt get to talk to the surgeon who was working on her bowel and intestines (happened to talk to the nurse-which, your not gonna believe this-happens to be the daughter of a really good friend of mine-she didnt recognize me, since she hadnt seen me since all the weight loss, so she gave us details and WILL take excellent care of Mel~)-she did lose some bowel and intestines-but she is going to be fine and not need care for it forever-and that was a major concern she had-as well as the rest of us-for her.  She does have a pretty massive incision AND a few drains-they have told us that she will be hospitalized for up to 3 weeks~BUT-we ALL Know that the power of prayer, and the prayer for a speedy recovery and quick healing-CAN shorten that, dont we?  This is all the info I have right now. I will post more tomorrow as I have more info. I got the pleasure of meeting her parents-and her mom is just an older version of Mel-and we clicked-and were just as close as if we had known each other forever. Her dad is a character and wonderful man as well. Her sister and BIL were there as well-and celebrating their 23rd anniversary today!! Then we had both my girls, my future SIL, and the pastors wife all up there!!  My dad runs a motel and he saved 2 rooms for them tonite-since a lot were sold out due to the Airfest going on this weekend, and it is very close to the hospital-so thats really nice-only about a mile or less away. I would like to extend my deep appreciation to ALL of you who were praying for Mel and her family in this time of need. I knew I wouldnt waiver in my faith that she would be okay-but I have to admit that the more the surgeon talked about all the things they were able to do with her today-I found myself overwhelmed, because I KNEW it was ALL THE PRAYERS being prayed for her today-last night things were NOT looking good and all the news we got was scary and sad-and today NONE of the things they told us about happened-so MIRACLES DO HAPPEN-and thank God for this board of fellow prayer warriors and friends. You are so awesome-and I love you all so much for taking the time to do that for her.  Thats all for now. I will update tomorrow. Thanks for everything and please keep them coming until she is out of the woods, ok?  All my love, Janet

whewwwwwwwwwwwwwww....that was me breathing a sigh of relief for the time being. Lets all keep praying for our girl but at least the first part is over. Thank you God that you had control of the surgeons hands and things will work out  for her.

Thanks Janet I have been on pins and needles all day running back and forth seeing if you had posted about her. Thanks for being there for her.

Janet, I'm so relieved that everything turned out so good!! I don't know why people say that Jesus never performs  miracles in our day and time!!!! He performed one today!!!!!! Thank you Lord Jesus!!!! Tell Mel that Dennis and I have been sending up prayers  for her and her family. Take care of yourself and don't get down. I have plans to come to the Springfield support meeting with Tammy in July!!! I am looking forward to meeting you and Lana and some of the others I haven't met yet. I was also looking forward to meeting Melissa too, she was my angel when I had my WLS. I've spoken to her over the phone and was so hoping to be  able to hug her neck I will be e-mailing you!!!!
