To tell or not to tell

I have recently met a guy over the internet and plan on going to meet him in person.  I have a friend who also had the lapband and she insists I tell him I had it prior to meeting him.  I and some of my other friends feel its really none of his business at this point in the relationship...  Is not telling him wrong???

If I were in your shoes, I would not tell him. At this point, why? I would wait til later in the relationship (if one develops). They say opening up too early is a way of showing "weakness". Plus, you don't want to give that vibe. I would also wonder if this guy is superficial like that (Oh, I am with a former fat girl, you know that whole idea). I just think I would keep it low key at this point. It is personal and I think things like that should wait to be told. :) Cheryl
