New to the group

I just wanted to introduce myself to this group.  I just came from the montly meeting with Dr. Hornbostel.  I am seriously considering this surgery and hope that those of you out there that have gone thru this will be my inspiration...  Linda

Welcome to the MO OH board.  We love new folks and will do anything we can to help you on your journey.  You've already done step one, chosen a superb surgeon.  I didn't have him but I think he's great.  This group of loving, caring, honest, praying people will be here for you anytime.  We share ups and downs and genuinely love one another. Linda~~ Welcome to our group!!  I am fairly new to the Mo group myself, and let me tell you they are they GREATEST most wonderful group of people you'll ever meet.  They are so sweet and soooo supporting!!  They are just fabulous!  Please feel free to ask any questions you may have no matter how silly you may think they are! Good luck on your journey and Congrats for making the first steps!! :-)  My day is in 12 days, and I am SO excited about being healhty... **hugs**

Welcome to the group!  I'm still jumping through hoops but there is light at the end of the tunnel.  I hope to have my surgery the end of August in Topeka, Ks. The members here are awesome, supportive and very smart--have a question, they will answer it! Trudy

Linda so glad to meet you . My doctor was Dr. Hornbostel last August and I think he is absolutly the greatest surgeon in the world. I had no trouble what so ever. I have lost 90 pounds now. I have gone from size 22/24s to size 10s and smalls. It is so amazing and what makes it even more so is my age. I am pretty close to being the oldest person on here.  Anyway welcome you are starting the greatest journey in the world. I do a post each day called Whats Happening. feel free to post there and tell us all about yourself and what you are up to and any questions you might have someone will try to answer for you.

Hi Linda Welcome to te group! This is a wonderful bunch of people and if it's inspiration you're looking for you will get it here. This board has a wealth of knowledge. Everyone here is great and if you have any questions all you need to do is post and people will answer it for you. Whats great about our bunch here is that sometimes everyone has a little bit different answer to some questions. I like it when theres a few responses because sometimes what works for one doesn't always work for me. If theres a few answers I can try all of them and see what works best for me!!! Again welcome to the board and come in sometime ansd tell us about yourself!!! Hugs

Hi Linda, Were you at the seminar on Tuesday evening?  I was also there.  I drove down from St. Charles, MO.  I was in the very back against the wall.  I had my 4 year old daughter with me.   She was watching a portable DVD player.  I have started on this journey before and then could not continue.  Well now I am really on my way.  I am currently working on the dr supervised diet for 6  months. Hi, Kelly....yes I was there on Tuesday.  I was about 3 rows up from you on the right hand side.  I came up with a friend of mine.  I am giving this option alot of consideration.  I had to make an appointment with my dr to discuss the supervised diet.  Was your dr open to the idea.  I talked to mine once before and her only comment was she didn't like the risks involved.  So I guess I will see.  She is going on a month vacation so it is going to be a while before I get in.  I see you are from St. Charles.  I have a brother, sister-in-law, and 3 neices who lived in St. Charles but just built a new house in O'Fallon...so I know the area.  Please keep me posted as to how you are doing.  Please feel free to email me at [email protected].  we can all use support in this process.  Have a great weekend.
