I have read that everyone goes thru this but I feel like it will never end.
Any suggestions for me would be greatly appreciated. I know there a re folks out there that hae gone thru the same thing, just need to hear from someone.

Ginger you arent abnormal , I am almost 11 months out and i have had probably 3 stalls. Some lasting a week and the last one lasted 2 months but i boosted them by going back and doing nothing but 3 protein shakes a day for about 5 days and it starts it up again. How much have you lost now in 3 months? Good to finally hear from you. Jan

I have lost 52 pounds so far... I know I should be grateful but I am afraid I will be the one that doesn't loose anymore, I have just joined a one on one class with a instructor at the YMCA. I go on Friday, she will tell me how and what to do to tone up and get healthy. I also am going to the aerobics class in the water, that way I don't tear up my knees and joints.
I have to confess that I have not been doing my protein shakes, but I will try to do better. Old habits are still hard to break.
I plan on going to the reuinion on Sept 8th... see you there!
Thanks for everything
Ginger!
Hi Ginger,
I am about a month out and am stalled as well. I can't seem to get below 176. I have been fluctuating back and fourth between 176 and 177. This has been going on for a little over a week. Yes, it is very frustrating. I admit I could be doing more protein as well. I am just burned out on my drinks right now. I tried the Profect vials and they are too thick. I don't mind like chocolate milk, vanilla, etc being thick but fruity stuff should not be *according to my taste buds anyway*. I am just bummed because I can drink maybe 3 sips and I am full/burned out. I put it in the fridge and it just sits there & goes to waste. Thing is, from what I understand...the first 6 months is supposed to be the "honeymoon part" (where losing the weight is virtually easy--it just comes off without you doing much). I mean, yeah--I exercise like I should too. I also found myself being more hungry today--which is abnormal for me too. I had original Malt O Meal this morning, deli shaved turkey, a little bit of chicken, and awhile ago some cottage cheese. I know another thing that I shouldn't be doing is jumping a few days ahead in my diet plan...but it's hard not to when it doesn't phase my body (I don't dump or anything--which has its positives and its negatives). So far, I have learned that it takes my pouch 10 minutes to tell my brain I am full (which is less time than what my dietician said it would be..she said it would be 20 minutes). So, that is a positive---but I am human like everyone else---and it just seems like nothing is ever enough..does that make any sense? :( I did get a compliment today from my soon to be step-daughter's mom. She said I was looking good. I also should boast a bit about myself. Before this surgery I was in a size 18W for my wedding dress (June 3, 2007) and after surgery I was able to get into a 14R (1 week ago), thing is my chest is still too big for that..so I am in a 14W! That was awesome to know. They said the only reason I am in the 14W is because my chest is not losing yet..haha. Good luck with that. I had these D's in elementary school. I am naturally bigger breasted. Ah well. I just wanted you to know that I share your pain tonight. Well, have a good night.

Hey girls,
I know protien can be hard but you really have to keep looking for the one you can handle. I drink the NECTAR protien -Lemon Iced tea flavored. They have lots of flavors and they are really good.I also use a Cher-amino liquid protien(2tblspoons) stirred in to a drink for an extra 15grams of protien. My stall ended when I upped the protien and really watched my eating habits.
I have lost 80lbs. as of yesterday since 2/14/07. YAHOOOOO!
it's worth it.The NECTAR is really good Ive tried the Green apple(tstes like a Jolly rancher),the Iced tea,and another on that was kind of tropical. All good but even better if you mix them with Crystal light instead of water.
Give it a try. The cheapest place to get teh NECTAR is to go to Drugsonline.com and order it .It's 26.99 for almost 3 lbs.
Good luck

to get the weight to go down you have to eat enough protein, doesnt matter how you get it whether shakes or actual food. Dr. Hornbostels Nut. says 90 grams a day and i know if i dont get that amount or close to it i dont lose. Also the water intake HAS to be there or you wont lose
at least 64 oz a day , more if you can. .

Hi Janet,
I think that is probably my problem (protein). Missouri Bariatrics says a minimum of 50 grams a day for women. The other dietician (Kelly) says the protein drinks count as a liquid as well. Like I said, I am just burned out on them. So, I am thinking if I have 3 protein drinks a day that gets to 45 and maybe a bite of cottage cheese. What do you think? I dunno, this stall thing is bummin me is all I know. Well, I gotta get going. I am going to my mom's today and getting my wedding dress (had to get it hemmed)--which is nothing new with me. EVERYTHING has to be hemmed. :(

there is no way i could lose weight on 50 grams of protein a day and more wont hurt you ...I do one protein drink and it is 30 grams of protein and another one at noon so that makes 60 and then what ever i eat during the day i make sure it is almost all protein and try try try to get in your water. that flushes the fat out of the system and doesnt overload the liver doing it. I use (ON) Protein powder that you get at Food 4 less and is really good. I mix it with 8 oz of soy milk, one scoop of Protein powder , some frozen strawberries and a little bit of strawberry flavored water to help flavor it. and about a tablespoon full of splenda. blend in blender and you have a strawberry smoothie. delicious
