Having problems

I am having problems and really don't know what to do.  My lapband date was 2/5/07,  three weeks ago, I had them let my band all the way out because I couldn't keep anything down.   During that time, I gained 14 pounds of water weight and it went down to just 6.  Yesterday they filled my band to about 1/2 of what it was when we took it out.  I haven't been able to keep anything down again excep****er.  Should I go to straight liquids until it is under control and not try any solids?  I tried peanut butter for lunch today and it came back up.  Someone please help, I don't know what to do next.

Doll, What does your Doctor say?  I don't have any answers, had RNY myself, but I sure feel for you and wanted you to know I care about your problem.  I know you need more than water, do you do protein drinks?  Your doctor should be able to help you.  Sounds serious to me.  You might want to post on the lap band board.  On the top of the page under Forums!!!  I'll pray for relief for you. Hugs, Lana

It might take a couple of weeks of eating mushies before your tummy is ready for "food again". Peanut Butter is a very difficult one to go down. I had to have some taken out of my band, and it took two weeks before I could eat regular food. Before 1/2 cc was taken out, I could not keep anything down, and eventually could not swallow due to dry hamburger which was really scary. Keep in touch with the nurse at your doctor's office. They should be able to help you. I ate mashed potatoes, cottage cheese, saltines and oddly enough, beef and noodles out of a can which I normally would never do. But, that is what I felt like having. It is easy to get dehydrated through all of this also. Make sure you are drinking enough, and if you feel wiped out, add salt for sure. Good luck.

I really don't have any answers for you but am thinking about you and hope you get this taken care of. It sounds miserable not knowing what to do. I'm with Lana maybeprotein drinks and a call to the doc. Hugs

Thank you everyone for your wonderful responses.  I've returned to drinking protein and eating soft foods for now.  Seems to help.  Haven't lost any of it yet.  I'll give it a week or two before I try anything rougher. Have a great day, Teri
