A few steps closer...

Hello everyone.  I love coming here and see the friendships that have come about.   Well, I'm one step closer to my surgery.   Dr. Hamilton's nurse called me today and to my surprise they had already received the Op reports from my punctured bowel back in Feb 2000.   Four of the surgeons are studying my case and they didn't see anything in the reports that would indicate I should not have the RNY --- Wooooohoooooo!!  I do have to have an upper GI to make sure everything is in working order.  Truthfully, if my only option was the Lap-Band I'm not sure I would have gone on with it at this time.  No knocking the band, but I really feel the RNY will work so much better for me and my co-morbidities. As soon as they receive the Upper GI report, if all is well, they will schedule my surgery.  Another good thing happened today, I had my final conference with the Dietician and now I have completely finished jumping through all the insurance companies hoops. I have a favor to ask that has nothing to do with weight.  My daughter, grandson and granddaughter recently moved to St. Louis and were to live happily ever after.  Well, after 2 weeks it seems the "boyfriend" isn't sure he wants to settle down right now, so it looks  like they will all be home on Sunday.  My daughter is devastated, and my grandson thinks it's his fault.   If you will, please keep them in your prayers.  My daughter is a wonderful individual that just hasn't had much luck in the partner/husband area.  Her husband of 1 year took his own life about 16 years ago and that still weighs heavily on her heart and probably always will.   Today was my weigh in day and I couldn't believe that I lost 7 pounds this past week.  It must be all the water I'm drinking trying to get my 64 ounces in each day. Tomorrow is our 38th anniversary, hard to believe time has gone so quickly.  If you add the 4 years that we dated in high school its 42 years - ahhhhhhhhh.  Steve is definitely the love of my life and my best friend.  I'm very fortunate to have him in my life and I love him more today than yesterday. Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone! Trudy

Trudy, WOO HOO!!!  I'm so happy for you.  Congrats on 38/42 years.  That's quite an accomplishment in this day and age.  I will keep your DD and her family in my prayers.  My DD is also a widow, her husband was killed when my DGS was almost 2 (he's almost 13 now).  She has also had more than her share of unfortunate relationships since her husband died so I can relate to your feelings. Please know that I'm praying for everyone. Hugs, Lana

Thanks Lana, you always know what to say to make a person feel better.  Our daughters sound like they have quite a bit in common. I know that I miss my SIL  very much and can't ev en imagine Karen's pain. Prayer gets her through, she has dealt with much more than a "boyfriend" changing his mind.  We all appreciate the prayers.
