Hi everyone! I am having trouble with mixing stuff with my shakes. I tried mixing crystal light with my shake and it tastes good, but I get a little queezy. It looks like it almost clabbers. Has anyone else had this problem?  Also, I can't find the recipe forum. How do I get there?  Elisa

My surgeon said I could mix fresh or frozen fruit as long as it had no added sugar w/ my shakes....

I bought some frozen mixed berries and looove them!  I also LOVE (my fav so far) peanut butter and banana protein shakes.

Something else to look for is Davinci or Torrani Sugar Free Syrups, I have Caramel and it is sooo good!  Esp with some SF chai tea mixed in....

For the recipe forum, go above your message where it says:

Forums » ObesityHelp Missouri » Message Board » Two Questions Click on Forums. This will bring up a page will all kinds of forums...in the bottom scroll box, under where the surgery date is....is where you will find Recipes.  There is also a Cooking and Baking Forum I've gotten recipes from...and there's also tons of other forums that are just awesome!! Hope this helps!

Thanks for the help. I was trying to find the forum for recipes and couldn't find it. My doctor won't let me use fruit in my shakes until I am at 6 weeks post op, and I am now at 4 1/2 weeks. Thanks for the info on the syrups. I will try and find them. It won't be long now for you, will it? I am thinking of you! Elisa

Elisa, One thing that is helpful is to NOT put the protein powder in the blender until the rest of the ingredients are blended. What I do is Blend my ice and juice or fruit and fruit and water FIRST then when it's all blended I scoop in the protein powder and stir it in with a spatula as much as I can. THEN I turn the blender on BRIEFLY just enough to blend well.....otherwise the protien can cause FROTHINESS which may be what you have experienced if you are even using a blender??? Once you can use the fruit you will find wonderful ways to enjoy your protein.....I couldn't do protein shakes at all my first year, not until I discovered using fruit in them. Now all I use it the ON(optimum nutrition) Whey "delicious strawberry".....I use mangos, strawberries, and bananas mostly.

Elisa, The first couple of times that I made my shakes, they tasted yucky and texture of globs. Then I learned (for my blender at least) that four ice cubes for eight ounces of water, was the most number of cubes that I should put in......... I use sugar-free jello mixes (a little dab'l do yah) in my shakes (and Crystal Light raspberry).  Jello flavors such as orange (think orange julius), cherry, strawberry, etc.    make tasty drinks The other ideas above are excellent also.    Best of luck to you, Beca
