What made you smile this weekend

Life sure brings us roses some days and thorns other days. I thought it might be nice to bring to light the roses for others to see. Maybe sharing our roses will help bring a smile to someone that is having a bad day. So here goes.
What made me smile:
My husband weedwacked.
I got some sun!!
My doggies were caught in the hallway fighting over my fluffy slipper they drug out of my closet.
I wore a pair of crop pants I bought about a month ago and they were really baggy on me.
My DH called me Slim when referring to me to one of my friends.
I referred a friend to Dr. Edwards and she has been accepted for a lap band.

What made me smile this weekend??? I made it to the gym both mornings. I weighed on my old scale and it said 150!!! I felt really strong and healthy. Someone told me I shouldn't lose any more weight - weird. DH and I went car shopping, FOR ME Had a good long visit with DD Just a smiley, good weekend in general.

"WLS is about making better choices, a healthier lifestyle and seeing how little you can eat.  Portion control is the key to all weight loss surgeries.  Bottom line - it isn't how much you can eat - it is how little you can eat."

Tara-what a wonderful idea-I, for one, can use the thought process, if nothing else-LOL...and I love to see what makes some smile-and kick back and make me think of what made me or my family smile as well~Thanks so much for posting this!

What made me smile over the weekend:

Playing in the pool with my sons and hubby-wrestling with them in the pool and having fun-there were ALOT of smiles!

Playing horseshoes with my 4 yr old son-who makes his own rules-LOL and wants the objective of the game to be knocking over the stand on the end-NOT putting the horseshoe on it or close~

Playing catch with my dogs-and letting them get in the pool and swim too-they are funny to watch!

Helping my daughter and her husband move into their new apartment and their excitement-laughing about the way things got packed and reminiscing when we came across things she has had since she was a newborn baby!

We took the boys to McDonalds yesterday to get a twist cone and a chocolate chip cookie-and Jons (4 yrs old) cone was melting faster than he could eat it-and a lot of it landed on the inside of his elbow-and we told him to lick it off-and he got the giggles trying to lick it-cause he is so ticklish!! We had to pull over, we were laughing so hard-because his laugh is so contagious (I am smiling about remembering it right now!)

I got 2 emails from a couple of my weight loss surgery pen pals-they made me smile.

Are you going to be doing this on a regular basis? I, for one, think it would be awesome!! Thank you, Tara-you dont know how much this post did for me!!!  Love ya, Janet

Janet, hey there....funny you mention that, after reading about your dark cloud I thought of this. I just might have to do this once in a while. I am glad it provided some comfort for you...you are really who I thought of when I came up with this. Hope today is going better for you. Much Love, Tara.

I like this idea too!!!!! I had a FUN weekend....the kind we don't get enough of....also had quite a bit of drama, but the FUn outweighs that for sure!!  What made me smile: Sharing jokes over dinner/drinks with friends on Friday night after small group in our home. and seeing the same friend Laugh out loud who'd been crying to me on the phone just a few hours earlier over her troubled divorce. Saturday, going tot the lake with my family and jus****ching the kids be silly in the water, trying to knock each other off the double tube. Then later, smiled as I made it over the WAKE for the first time this summer while wakeboarding...I'm still quite the beginner!! Then smiling as Jim was able to grab the bottom of the wakeboard as he jumped int the air! SHOW OFF!!! Sat. night....laughing at my friends from church on the dance floor, STEALING the show at a local club! WHO KNEW!!!!! I WISH I had a camera!!! Sunday, listening to our pastor.....he's a FUNNY guy and always brings humor to our sermon. You know it's a good day day in church when you laugh AND cry on the same day! : )  Then Sunday afternoon, my dad called to say he'd won $10K on the $1 slots at Isle of Capri casino on Sat night and then proceeded to say how the steak dinners there were 10 times better than the nicest restaurant in HIS town....which BTW I'd been plannign to have their 40th Anniversary party there later this month...not anymore! Just called my sister and had a good laugh over that one.... So she's helping me with Plan B! And while talking to HER I found out that one couple I invited already, haven't been friendly with my folks for quite some time! GEESH no wonder they sounded suprised by my call!!! I'm on a roll with this party! I laughed though!!! Gotta keep a sense of humor. : )

What a wonderful idea, Tara!  By the way, nice to finally put a face w/your name. Going to see Ratatouille (sp?) w/my 4 year old. Taking the size 22 capris to the dressing room, just for grins, and discovering they fit! Getting all of the floors mopped (silly I know but been a while since I've had the energy to do the living room, kitchen, hall & bathroom at the same time), plus getting the house picked up in general.  And since DH didn't get to come home this weekend, I also got the yard mowed. Being able to take a bath and not having to struggle to get out of the tub.

Tara this is a great idea....so many of our board members have such problems and such pain but there is always something or someone that is that little ray of sunshine.  What made me smile? watching my great grandson he is almost 2 playing in the sprinkler.

the laughter of his little 4 month old sister. Baby laughs are so adorable and if they dont melt a heart there is something wrong with you.  Having granddaughter come up and hug me and tell me thank you mimi for all you have done for us.  Hope the idea continues love this.   Jan

Oh I think this is great too! So many times people (a big 'oh me'  included) dwell on the bad and forget to see the good.  I saw 4 of my grandchildren this weekend. They always make me smile.  Kiele hardly has any hair and she is two. I laughed watching my daughter pull and twist every little hair up into 1 inch pony tails. They stuck straight out. A little Pippy Longstockings she was.  My husband made me laugh when I put on my old EMS pants to see if there was a difference. I could pull them out about 4-5 inches with the bottom being baggy. I use to paint them on, and my stomach use to hang over them. My husband exclaimed, "Wait, let me get the camera!" I think he was as excited as I was. Going to my daughter's to play in the pool. Watching my grandbabies act silly (okay so did I!). Jordan, who is four, is just like a frog. Jumps in and shows me how he can do "belly flops." Seeing my oldest grandson, who is thirteen. I have not seen him since last year. He is getting so tall but is still the same Chase I remember.  As I walked away from a group of people at church, I heard them say, "Doesn't she look good?" (that is not vain, just something I haven't heard in a very, very, very, long time!) My husband and I noticed that he could put his arms all the way around me. He gets so surprised, I think more so than me! I can't help but laugh! He is not a man to show emotion.
