~Reunion Details~Please read~Is for everyone

Hi Everyone: I have been asked to post details regarding the reunion every week or so until its here-due to our newbies and etc....so, here goes. The members of the MO board are going to be having a get together-or reunion-on September 8th, in West Branson. A lot of us are going for the weekend, and the name of the resort is Green Valley Resort. I will post the website at the end. You can rent your cabin for as long as you want-and if you dont want to stay the whole weekend-the DAY we are all getting together is the 8th-IF you decide to just come for the day-there is a $5 per person fee-but you will have access to all the ammenities that those renting the cabins have. The resort has a solar heated pool-and they have agreed to keep it open for us-although they usually close it right after Labor Day. They have a hot tub as well, 2 fishing docks, a swimming dock and boat rentals etc.  They also have a play ground, badmitton/volleyball net, horseshoes, shuffle board and a fire pit where we can roast marshmellows or have a camp fire together.

The 8th-the day we have set aside for us to all be together-we will be doing a potluck lunch-in which, if your attending the lunch-we are asking that you bring a dish to share with everyone, with the recipe for that dish available to those who may want it. Each person/family will be responsible for their own grilling meats, eating utensils and such. The cabins come furnished with all of that-but if your not renting a cabin-you will need to bring those items with you. Also-it wouldnt be a bad idea to bring some chairs if your just staying for the day-as the cabins all come with picnic tables-and they said that we can move them all together for the day-but we will have to move them back-but if a lot of people come just for the day-we may not have enough seating on our tables-and cant take the picnic tables from other cabins/customers- We will also be doing a white elephant exchange-a little award type ceremony AND we are still working on some of the other ideas we had-and I will post about them in the next couple of weeks. Each person is responsible for making their own reservations, for sending in their own deposits and so on and so forth. WE request that when and if you call them-to please dont use the word reunion-because the prices for deposits and such are a lot higher then.  IF you have any questions or suggestions-please feel free to let me know.  I look forward to seeing all of you there-and meeting so many people we just know through our posts-but it doesnt matter where you are in the journey-you are welcome, welcome, welcome-and so is your family or friends!! Also-most cabins are 2 BR or larger-and so if your interested in sharing a cabin and splitting the cost-just post and we can see who would want to team up with you.  The prices are already really reasonable-and I think you will all be pleased.  Hope to see you there!! Just a thank you to all those who've worked to make this happen!! I've not even been up to date but read this post and hope I can come at leat for a day......I'm too close to have any excuses!!! And MAYBE we could even bring our boat down for anyone who wants to tube or wakeboard etc....I'll have to talk it over with Jim. I did wakebaord this past weekend and my thighs and buns HURT today!!! It's good to hurt though!! : )

Hey Tamara--- When I was 15 I had a chance to go “tubing” while on a camping trip with my best friends family. I wasn’t as near as heavy as I am now--- but I was soooo insecure  I said “no thanks”. I remember having to hold back the tears as I watched everyone us have so much fun.

Just now your post reminded me of the disappointed of another missed opportunity. I can not wait for this surgery…beyond the medical benefits which is my main motivation----- I’m expecting to be able to do a lot more in life and stop missing out on so much! Amanda, you'll have to make that one of your goals...once at a certain weight, you'll go tubing!!! : )  See you at group!!!!  We've all missed out on many things and know just what you are talking about. HUGS!

We really want to go but since my surgery is Aug 29th, I think I will still be recovering and it will be to far a drive so soon post op. Next time we will be there. Have fun guys and we will be thinking of you. Rebecca
