Update on CHELLE

Okay...here's the skinny.... Chelle just called me and told me what's going on.... She got through surgery itself okay....but on the 2nd or 3rd day her surgeon came in to check on her and her fiance said "She's doing good, been sleeping this morning for a while..."  The surgeon looked over at her and she was PURPLE.....yeah, she coded.  They called in the crash cart and everything.... After it was all over, the surgeon was asking her fiance when she last got her pain meds and the fiance said "About an hr and a half ago, as scheduled."  Well, the surgeon freaked out and said he never schedules pain medicine he only writes it as prn (as needed)....SOOO....turns out...the nursing staff had pretty much overdosed her on pain meds and caused her to code. She also said her blood pressure is doing funky things, keeps getting down to like 80ish over 40ish (REALLY LOW) and won't go back up....AND she had to leave the hospital on Oxygen b/c her oxygen levels wouldn't get back up to normal..... She said she can't get on OH too much b/c it hurts her back too much to sit upright, but she is missing all of us and appreciates the prayers and hopes we will continue to pray for her.... She goes back on Thursday to see the doc and see how things are going....sooo let's keep praying.  Said she'll call me after her appt so I can update everyone again... And that's all I know.... **hugs**

Oh my! I hope she will get better soon! What an ordeal. Sure makes me a bit queasy about going to UM for surgery two weeks from today.Prayers to Chelle! Hugs, LaNeta

Thanks for udating for me Rianne  I am starting to feel better. I don;t think th crash cart was called in but I do know there were wonderful doctors there when I woke up. ans that I had turned purple I think I just  had a bad reaction to the meds. I have a wonderful doctor and would do this all again at the SAME hosptal so don't be nervous about the hospital evwryone was great. Thats why I am still here Hugs

It's usually standard procedure if you code or turn colors they call in crash cart...if they didn't I would be writing some VERY angry letters to administration (on top of the ones I would have written for the OD)..... **hugs**  Call on Thurs if you feel up to it...
