WHATS HAPPENING FOR SATURDAY

Jan C.
on 8/3/07 1:19 pm - Cedar Creek, MO

This day promises to be another hot hot  day. Got up early again to be able to get anything done in the yard. Had to unload the rest of the cedar mulch and put it around the mums and fountain area. Then going to outline that with rocks too to keep the mulch in there.

My Lady Banks rose that I have planted at the corner of the Pagoda is all the way to the top now. Cant wait for next spring and for it to bloom again. It was loaded with blooms this spring right at the time we had the freeze I tried to protect it but didn’t help a lot. It did go ahead and bloom but not as well as it should. It is a rose that has no thorns. And tiny little yellow roses all in huge clusters  it is beautiful when it doesn’t get frozen out.

Mixed up a tank of weed killer and sprayed the driveway and walkways again this morning. Hopefully this time I got everything.

I am trying to decide what to do with an area that was the old driveway so it is loaded with gravel but it has also growed up now with grass that we keep mowed. I am trying to convince myself to build a raised bed there to grow tomatoes and such in and of course some flowers too. I think that would be the only way we could use it because of it being so compacted and hard. Unless we hired someone to come in with a bulldozer and grade it up and I don’t know if I want that big of a mess there or not.

Well the shed got laid out and the corner post all dug and put the concrete in there on them. Will have to wait till tomorrow to fini**** up now since the concret has to set up some. Joe went to town and got the rest of the lumber that we needed for it. We thought we had enough left over from doing the green house for it. But silly me wrong again. Lol I don’t guess we will ever get rid of all of that pile of lumber we have out there. Seems we don’t have a need for what is there and always have a need for what we don’t have. Isnt that always the way it is.

Im so happy today I found on line the other day the Hertiage lace roosters curtains that I have been wanting for my dining room windows. I ordered them and got them today . They now are in my windows and look exactly like I thought they would. Just the right touch. This style has been retired and no one had them. And I got them for only 9.00 a piece isnt that amazing? Wow can you tell it doesn’t take a lot to make me happy and excited lol.

My neighbors brought me over 6 big spag. Squash today. Have you tried that instead of Spag? It is great and has a wonderful taste to it too. Not just flour taste but a good veggie taste. No carbs at all. and makes spag and meat balls taste so much better. I had 9 bags of 2 cups each to put in the freezer for future use. Plus I put up 6 bags of cut up okra in the freezer. And several bags of sliced yellow squash. Now I will go to farmers market probably one day next week and get a bushel of green beans and put them up in the freezer will just have to make the bags smaller on all of this stuff now so it isnt wasted.

Last year they gave me probably ½ bushel of jalapeno peppers , I cut the tops off and cleaned them out and lay them on a cookie sheet and flash froze them and put them into gallon bags and could take out what I wanted when ever. Some I stuffed and breaded and fried some I used in soups and stuff. Still have a lot in there also bags and bags of frozen cherry tomatoes. They are great to take out what you need and throw into a pot of stew or veg  soup or what ever.  And have a lot better taste than the can stuff.

SUSAN::That is really great about the capris. Isnt it amazing how we just skip down sizes and we don’t ever really know it?

That will be so awesome that someone will be getting some new clothes at the Reunion .

Hopefully by then I can bring some of mine too. Ive given away everything that doesn’t fit right at the moment but would be nice if none of mine fit by then lol

I sure hope you start feeling better soon. It is about time isnt it? Make them listen to you when you call them about how you feel. Like Janet said tell them you want to talk to that one person ,forgot the name , Will continue to pray for  you sweetie.

LANA; : yes im axious to hear from Beverly when she has the nerve ablation too. Not for myself but for Joe. He is in constant pain all the time.

Would be such a miracle for him if this will work.

I know what you mean about eating things just because you can. No need to do it to try and see if you can eat them in the first place is the way I look at it. I did find out I can eat chips almost by accident , we went to eat at a Mexican rest and the chips and dip they brought I just didn’t think about it and the next thing I knew I had eaten a chip and some dip. I stopped right away when I realized what I had done. Now the only time I do eat a couple of chips is when we go to a Mexican rest. Which has been once since my surgery a year ago. So I don’t think 2 chips and some dip will cause me not to lose weight but I choose not to eat them any other time.

JANET::One day before long this summer I would love to go to the drive in again. Those were sure the days to go to the drive in on Sat night.. Most of the time we went so no one could see you necking in the drive in. lol

Yeah that is what I figure is wrong with Melissa , someone did something wrong. Thank God that she has one good doctor out of the bunch that is finding out what is going on with her.

Well yeah I would be hireing someone to do the water line by now too

. There isnt any sense in that is threre?

BEV: Well im sure glad that your tummy quit hurting but keep a close eye on  the pain level now over the week end. Seems most of the time that when things get serious it is always when things are all closed up .

You take care of yourself and keep an eye on the pain level.  Oh and Happy 40th birthday today.

Sherr : I hope you have had a great Birthday

LOVE AND JOY AND PEACE ABOUNDS

Hello Jan and Everyone else,

I haven't been on the computer for a few days. My oldest grandson, Shayne decided to get ahold of a 409 bottle and spray it in the side of my computer. Needless to say it's been in the shop for a few days. But it's fixed now and doing fine.        I'm a great aunt again! My nephew Dylan and his wife Megan had a baby boy on Wednesday the 1st. Xander Ryan was born at 8:22am and weighed  7lbs.and 3ozs.He is 21in. long. Mom and baby are doing fine. She had him c-section.Dylan is my sister Lorita's son, she is the one who passed away in an automoble accident in Jan. 2005. We all really missed her alot on Wednesday, she should of been there. I'm sorry, it still makes me upset to think about her. On a lighter note, now I have another one to add to my babysitting list. That makes four children under 3. Wish me luck!        I would love to come to the reunion, but just not sure yet if I will be able to. It sounds like it is gonna be lots of fun. Anybody from around Kirksville going?  Jan- Your gardens sound so beautiful! I wish I had the knowledge (and the energy) to do that. I had afew hanging plants and they all look very sad.LOL Would love to see them some day.  Susan- I'm so sorry your not feeling well. My thoughts are with you and hope you feel better soon. That's great about the pant sizes! Keep up the great job.  Janet- Glad to hear your feeling better. My good thoughts are with you for continued health.  Bev- Hope you start to feel better soon. My thoughts are with you also. Get well soon.   I wish everyone a great day. And keep all the people in the bridge accident and thier families in your prayers. I know i will be.

   Take Care, Tammy V.

Dear Jan and OH Peeps~ Good Morning, Good Morning!! It looks and FEELS like its gonna be really hot today~yuck. I am going to get my morning post done and get to walmart to get my script filled and get home. Mike has a big RC race with the nitro gas cars later this afternoon, but I dont want to take the boys out in that extreme heat and temperatures-so they are staying home with me. Jon gets sunstroke/heatstroke VERY easily-so we have to watch him extremely close when it gets like this! Maybe we will be lucky and it will be cloudy (yeah right!) IF it is, I will get in the pool this afternoon to keep cooled down... ~~~HAPPY HAPPY B-DAY BEV B and BARBARA S~~~~ I hope that both of you ladies has a wonderful and blessed day!! My hubbys b-day is Tues and so I am trying to figure out WHAT to get him....He has me and the kids-what more does he need-LOL...Just kidding. I just dont know WHAT to get him!! He is probably one of the hardest for me to shop for. He always puts so much thought into what he gets for me-that I hate to be cheesy with him, not that I do it with others, but I just want to put as much into his gifts as he does mine. A lot of the things that he does-like the racing and building slot cars and all that, I just dont know much about and often times find myself just buying him gift cards-but I would rather buy something and put more thought into it-LOL... ~~MAJOR WOW MOMENT~~WOW MOMENT~~~ Last Saturday, at my daughters wedding reception out here-I wore a t-shirt that Mel bought me months ago with the race car on it and the cute little saying....Well, I told Mike that IS the first time since I have been with him (10 yrs) that "I" have fit into a XL shirt (the girls still get in the way of smaller sz on top) anyhow-TODAY-he brought in some new work shirts that just came in-polo type-say Sharp on them-in a sz L-and he told me to try one on-and I did-right there in the livingroom-and guess what? IT FIT-IT FIT~~~His jaw dropped and he said-that looks REALLY good on you-and now Im in trouble-cause your gonna be raiding my closet-raiding your closet-now Im just gonna combine them into one closet-so I have more options-LOL... He has several shirts I love-and after I get done with this post-I have been inspired to get into to his closet and try on the ONE shirt in there that I LOVE and have on my goal list-and its a button up type-not sure how to describe it-but long sleeve and more wintery-but most like a flannel-only it isnt-LOL...Its blue and white-and IF it fits-Im wearing it out of the bedroom when I get ready to go to Walmart-so I can see what he says-LOL LOL.... Im so excited-that truly truly made my morning!! I dont remember ever "just" being a large-and those of you that have seen my hubby-he is always between 165-175# all soaking wet-and tall. No chub on him at all-LOL...

**Jan-I was hoping everything went well yesterday and said a little prayer for you guys working outside that no one got heat stroke etc. Take it easy in this weather-which I know you do. Cant wait to see the pics of all the finished products! Im not too inpsired to plant anything or do any of that right now. Watering is about it. I have some stuff I need to get planted soon-just dont know where the heck I am gonna plant anything. Have to though or its not gonna come up next year either.

Isnt it nice to find something you have been looking for AND get a bargain? That always makes me happy as well. Is your kitchen done in roosters? Im happy that you got them!!

We didnt go to the drive in last night. We were afraid that Jon wouldnt fall asleep before Harry Potter came on-and then would have nightmares with some of the scarey stuff. Maybe next weekend? Not sure-but we went and rented a couple of movies-and as soon as the First Mimzy started-Jon fell asleep on the couch next to me-the minute I started to rub his back-he was a goner-LOL.... Necking at the drive-in? I would NEVER do that- (wink wink)  Memories~in the corner of my mind~Misty watercolor memories~of the way we were~~Hey-are we ever too old to neck at the drive in? I hope not. When I dont have the kids-I still like to have a little spicy fun with the hubby-LOL.... Only now, its MORE fun-cause I dont have to worry about getting pregnant-LOL....

I have some clothes to bring to the reunion too-but its what my daughter doesnt take. We are in the same sz now-and actually, its too big for me-so she gets first choice since she doesnt have a lot of money to spend on clothes and is starting a new job where she has to dress up. I have mostly 22s to bring tho. Just have to see how much more I lose this month-may come to the reunion and wear the same outfit all weekend-LOL...

Checked on my girls yesterday-Susan and Mel. Mel sounded a little better, but Terry is sick. Actually he has been ill since the reception last Sat, so he was headed to the doc yesterday morning and I havent talked to her since. Sus sounded better-she promised IF she had problems over the weekend that she would go to the hospital and get checked out. Poor thing. I wish I could fix these guys!!!

**Susan-have fun shopping with Randi today-I am sending my condolensces right now-because its my most dreaded time is shopping with Stephanie-she is SO PICKY and wants the MOST EXPENSIVE things and always wants to look at the stuff that doesnt fit-so its like a verbal wrestling match when we go shopping and I HATE IT. This weekend is no tax weekend-so I told her that WE HAVE to go either tonite or tomorrow or she is out of luck-will see what happens. She had to work this morning due to Marion Days in Carthage and dads motel is booked by the overflow from Carthage and so she is working extra until Monday. Told her to save her money!!! Will update you later. Love ya and call me today to let me know if you survived ok!! Be patient and remember something funny if you get stressed out.

**Mel-if your reading this-I hope Terry is feeling better and it was just some kind of bug and nothing serious. DO NOT overdue it today just cause your feeling better. Told you, we will all help you, should you need it. Love ya.

**Tammy-Ammy-How did it go yesterday? Are you doing ok? I hope that you are. I love you and Im thinking about you-email me when you get some time, ok? Love ya girl.

**Tammy V-CONGRATS on the baby boy~YAY~ A healthy baby boy-and I dont know how you feel about this-but I KNOW your sister WAS there in spirit-and Im very sorry for your loss-I know its hard-but I also know as much as all of you loved her-she WILL live on-through ALL Of you-Your so loving and giving-and Im glad you have the opportunity to be a caregiver to those beautiful children-congrats again...I will keep baby and mom and your whole family in my prayers.

**Lana-I couldnt agree with you more. I love that liberated feeling-and I LOVE the feeling of doing things I havent been able to do for 20+ years-WAY MORE than I could EVER love ANY food-thats for sure. I know that once some of us have surgery, something changes in us-and I know for me, I have experienced that change-and I am so totally different than I ever thought I could be. IF someone would have told me a yr ago that I would be like this now-I really would have laughed right in their faces-so its amazing. Im not at all saying that its healthy to be turned off by food like I am, but Im just saying that-food is NOT the center of my life, gatherings or anything else anymore! It seems like food IS the center of so much-and before I used to worry about it-and WANTED to-but now-I ONLY do it-because of the hubby and kids-or like the reception-NOT because I WANT to.....Its just amazing. I dont think I will ever be able to wrap my mind around the changes. Im totally okay with that tho-there are some things that are good not to be able to understand.... I love ya and cant wait to see you and your little mini cooper. I hope you have a good weekend. Smile!

**Bev-I hope and pray for you that you feel better this weekend and maybe it was something simple. Keep us posted.

**Sherr-where are you? I know your moms surgery is coming up soon. Guess I will have to look up your moms number-I have it around here somewhere and call and check on you to make sure everything is ok with you and family...I hope all is well. Please let us know HOW you are.

Well, I am gonna close for now-get dressed and into town so I can get back before its smeltering out there and in time for Mike to get to the track early for practicing before the big race. Wish him luck today that all goes well-last time he went to race-someone else was using his frequency and they turned his Nitro car into the corner and up and over a concrete block and caused a lot of damage-so now IF someone else uses your frequency-they HAVE to pay for ALL damages to your vehicle. It was such a mess and a bummer cause he practiced so much and so hard-so I am praying he does good today-not that he wins-but just stays in the running.....My love and prayers go out to all, Janet

Good Afternoon All... Not much going on here...muggy and hot, weather wise! I mowed yesterday...well around the house anyway. I like to keep the grass short around here. Keeps the fleas and chiggers off me and the dogs...they won't touch David with all the meds he's on....I say he's lucky but I wouldn't want the issues he has that got him put on the meds in the first place! Well, I finally broke where it comes to my daughter! She had been bugging me abou****ching her kids next week. I told her that I would but that as far as running them back and forth that was up to them! You see....when she FIRST mentioned, me watching the kids, she made it sound like I would be watching them while she was at work a couple of days next week. Then came my medical issue and as I'm sure you all can imagine, I was pretty well spent! My daughter then starting changing things on me as far as watching the kids and showed no compassion what so ever for what I had found out medically. That wasn't a real big surprise, she always has been about "her!" It's just that now what went from a couple of days of watching kids has turned into a Sunday through Friday deal AND she wants me to run the oldest one (Timothy) to and from his karate classes which is 4 nights in a row and his soccer practice too! She wants me to do this with a 14 month old in tow and I am to do all this with my back the way it is and if that isn't enough, it's approximately an hour drive, one way! I told her there was no way that I could help her with that, flat out! The gas it would take would be phenomenal price wise and I know my back would not hold up! The drive plus sitting on the bleachers at both the karate classes and soccer, not to mention sitting in the heat at the soccer practice and I'm to do all this while lugging a hefty 14 month old? I would be crippled up after the FIRST day! I'm not THAT Mom anymore! Sure, when my children were young I was able to keep up with 3 children, a diaper bag, purse, stroller, groceries and all the other stuff that goes along with motherhood but give me a break here! I'm almost 50, am 100lbs overweight, have had 9 surgeries including the 2 on my back and now possibly facing cancer....geez girl...think! I told her that I would watch the kids but as far as the karate and soccer, she needed to call his coaches and let them know that he will be out of town. I haven't heard from her since. Guess she decided to pay someone up there to do her babysitting and playing taxi driver for the kids. Sorry but I'm not SuperMom anymore! Besides, I have a husband to take care of and I can't do that being crippled! (I was gonna say "flat on my back" but figured there are too many smarta**es on here for that)....LOL!! I got the "official" paperwork back on my mammo...no changes, nothing to worry about there! Just praying everything else works out as well! The cool thing is with all this on my shoulders, the Lord and with your alls prayers (Thank you) has given me a peace about all of it! So much so, I can go through my daily routine and not even think about it! Praise the Lord! I have people praying from here to southern California, up to Oregon and back! Somethings gonna happen and it's gonna be BIG!! Wow, I'm sitting here in my office with A/C running and I can hear what David and I affectionally call a "Herd of Harleys" going by up on the highway! Sounds like about 50 of them....can't miss that low rumble they make as they go by...love it!! The bomb scare at David's work turned out to be a hoax! Somebody is going to, if not already lose their job! David told me that some guy wanted to pull a prank on his buddy and put a box with some wires hanging from it under the staircase at work and it was found my the wrong person which of course let to the police being called about a suspicous package! What makes it even worse is the guy is young and indonesian. He will be marked as a terrorist and has ruined his and his families lives here in America anyway. It is sad what we have had to become as a country! They had found the package right away and figured it out that it was a hoax but since the police were already their and the employees had been removed from the building and everything had to be shut down asked if they could use the situation as training for a "real" situation! So they played cops and terrorists in the building for the rest of the day while all the employess got a paid day off...well not the one that pulled the prank! Talk about a joke going bad! OUCH!! Well I need to get off my rump and do something!  Love & Prayers, Deb M

Janet & Momma Jan..... Argh, 39 and one day old! I actually had the best birthday EVER yesterday, and I did nothing special at all. My dad had bought me a new shower radio to replace mine that kicked the "can" recently...YEAH tunes back in the shower, WHERE THEY SHOULD BE! Mom bought me an Ice Tea Maker, and gave me some beautiful monogrammed towels for my new bathroom (not new, but re-decorated) My teenager didn't have a lot of money, but he took a roll of quarters and washed my truck for me, then took it home and detailed it all...vacuuming it and shining up the tires for me....now she (my truck) looks like a show truck again! My sweet mother made me a country dinner (brown beans, corn, mashed potatoes and home made chicken fingers, with honey cornbread muffins...) And she made me 12 mini cupcakes from Pillsbury's new "reduced sugar cake mix & frosting, which IS EXCELLENT by the way 50% less sugar...... I chilled w/ the poodle boyz all day, watched my fav shows that I had tivo'ed....walked around my lawn...which is 400 steps on the pedometer...lol...that I got free in the mail yesterday TOO! Doesn't that sound like the sweetest day? My dad even offered to take me out to breakfast, but I have a "kink" in my back and have to be "tip top" for mom's surgery on Tuesday, so I asked for a raincheck.... If you can't tell by now, my family likes to eat....and I have to realllllllllly watch it or I gain really fast, but I ate a little of this, and a little of that...and was happy to be with my family for a change, instead of in some airport, running trying to catch a connecting flight....which is where I spent most all of mine for a very long time. I have a happy life......I am very thankful for all the WLS peeps. The last 12 months, there were times when I begged God to take me as I slept. A year later and many things have happened. No, I haven't found the love of my life yet, but I have sharpened my "wish list" a bit. LOL Within the last year: *Planted More Roses all PINK of course *Went back to SUPER LIGHT BLONDE, but not before being Chocolate Brown, and ever dark shade of blonde you can BUY *Got back down to a "Single Digit Size" in Clothing *Bought New "S" Underwear...you know, like SUPER SHERR or Superman... *Watched one parent (Dad) go thru surgery and mom having her total knee replacement on 08/07 - Tuesday....scary time for a daughter *Went on two dates, to realize what I am NOT looking for in a companion *Watched as one of my poodle boyz was diagnosed and then erradicated of cancer...Luv my Bailey *Bought size 6 underwear....lots and lots *Fell in love with Sunflowers, Zinnias and "Toad" Lilies in my Garden *Won a Small Claims Court Case against a thug contractor for my parents *Saw Papa Roach in Memphis, TN *Refinanced my home, saving me a lot of money *Went from being HOTT all the time, to FREEZING all the time - - What's up with THAT? Became more at peace with myself, my health, my life and my choices..... I am thankful for each and everyone of you guys! Sherr

Howdy Yall.... Wanted to take a sec to drop in & say HI!!! I hope everyone is doing ok with this heat!! I have had to be out in it most everyday this week...Yesterday and today it about got to be tooooo much for me... And I am wore out from worry!!!!! I took my son to catch the bus at Memphis TN to N.C. Thursday night...Started out the bus was an hour late... Then right after they got out on the interstate the bus broke down!! Took them 2 hours to get another bus out there and get everyone and their things transfered to the other bus....Which made them 3 hours behind on the schedule they were suppose to have....It just got worse from there...because each time they hit the next stop they were late and had missed the bus they should have caught...He ended up having lay overs in places he wasn't even scheduled to have them!! And 2 times his layovers were 5-6 hours! All this after I had spent 2 days on the dang computer going thru different schedules to find the one he would have to ride the least on and had the least transfers!!! His original 16 hour trip ended up truning into 32 HOURS!!!!!!!! I am so p***ed at that bus company I could s**t fire balls!!! I am calling them first thing monday and demanding my money back for his ticket!!!! It was rediculous they didn't have a back up plan for when things like this happen....Heck at one stop they had to miss the bus even after getting there on time because there wasn't room for all of them to board....So the ones that had done been thru the mill ended up having to all wait till the next bus several hours latet... And on one stop, once they got there they decided the bus they were all waiting on had to be used for something different, after they were all in line to board!!!! I don't think I will be the only one raising cane about this stuff!!! Im sure some of the others will too....a few delays is one thing but I think some of the stuff they had to go thru was very uncalled for!!! But thank the GOOD LORD!!!, He finally made it to where my sister was suppose to pick him up!! She said he hugged her so tight that she thinks she might have to go get her neck checked lol lol..........But the wait of finding out how long he would be stuck each time they stopped, worrying about someone knocking him over the head or something at some of those terrible bus stations and being awake most of the time he was gone talking to him on his cell phone has left me wiped out!!! I think I might have even gotten a few more gray hairs!!!!! Well I can finally weigh on my new scales...I had bought a set that was suppose to weigh up too 400lbs...But the darn things are just now starting to weigh me after I got to 379 and then they weigh me 7 pounds more than both the doctor scales..so everytime I weigh I have to do some figuring lol lol....Im kinda sad I only lost 4 pounds this week...at least it was 5 last week lol lol....But I did have a tiny wow moment this morning....I had a ankle bracelet laying around on my computer desk that belonged to my oldest daughter and she tried putting it on me and it fit!!! I know it's a goofy thing to get excited over but I never thought my ankles looked all that big when they weren't swollen but I could never find a ankle bracelet that would fit.. but it did today....wooo hooo!!! Kinda felt sexy lmbo!!!!!!! Jan...please be careful out in this heat...I know how you are with your yard and flowers lol lol....you might need to be turning the hose on yourself while your out there!! Janet...CONGRATS on the WOW moment....I know it has to be exciting to wear some of your hubbys clothes...Things have been turned upside down here for the past several days...but I will try to get you an email out tonight or tomorrow night!!!  Mel....Hope your doing ok...Haven't been able to keep up with all that's going on on the board this week....still got ya in my prayers and in hopes you will be bouncing around like a spring chicken again soon lol lol... Susan....Been thinking about you....Hope things are going ok your way as well....Id love to talk to you...I am going to try hard to get in a call to you this week.... Amy....Sorry I haven't managed to get ahold of you since you been home...My kids have swamped me this past week with one ting or another!!!! I hope your doing well and doing great at being a looser lol lol.....drop a line when you can or give me a call one night if you feel like it.... Before I close I have a question...There are several people that are having trouble getting in to the chat room since they changed things...Myself for one lol lol....but I was wondering if any of you would be interested in picking a night and doing a group chat in yahoo or msn?? If you don't have one of them it's really easy to download it...It's just a thought but if you are interested drop a me a line or post it here and we will try and set up a night for it.... Hope you all have a great Saturday Afternoon!!! God Bless you all..... Luv & Hugs...Tammy~ammy
