Hiya Everyone.  I am sorry to barge into the Missouri board but I thought it would be the best place to see if anyone had their surgery done at DePaul in St. Charles.  I was just curious if there is any additional testing for patients that have sleep apnea.   I was diagnosed with it a year ago but could not sleep for no love nor money with that leaf blower strapped to my face.   So I turned it back in to SISA.  I was just thinking on my way home from work today the what if's like maybe having to have another sleep study or such like if it couldnt stick out the CPAP machine will they still think I am a candidate.  My mind is racing thinking I have been working on this approval for about a year and finally got one and now what if this causes another setback ............thanks for any advice or info in advance.  Sorry I have lurked a bit here and think you guys are great.

Hi, Even though you don't use your c-pap you still have sleep apnea and it is documented. This will be a plus for you to have surgery no matter where it is. I wish you luck and visit anytime. Julia

No issues at DePaul regarding apnea, it won't hold up your surgery.  It took me forever to get insurance approval so I also know the thoughts you are currently having.  Even after my surgery was approved I ended up getting a denial letter and having to go through one more round of communication reminding them why the approved it the first time.  I'm a month behind my original surgery date, 18 months from when i jumped into the insurance nightmare and can't wait until tomorrow when I have surgery at DePaul.  Keep in touch if you have any other questions.

Are you having surgery with Scott or de la Torre?

Thanks for the response.  I am having my surgery with De La Torre I was leaning towards Dr Scott just because everyone I know has gone to him but I trust them both.  I called Nancy yesterday over the CPAP and she said no problem just to make sure that they know when I go in for my consult.  It took from May to July to get my approval and now my class is scheduled on 9/16 (holy 6 weeks seems so long ) I believe she said that I will get my surgery date that day but she said it would be another 4-8 weeks after the class.  I am hoping time flies by.  I wish you all of the best luck on your surgery.  I may take you up on that offer of any question......ya know since you are first..
