Kim AKA Mulberrymae UPDATE
Hey all,
I just got off the phone with Kim. She is doing awesome. She had the "blue ice chips" leak test today and passed. They let her have some broth, tea, and she tried the Jell-O and she didn't care for how that went down. So, she loves the broth it went down great for her. Tomorrow she will have her 2nd leak test (the x-ray). She got to see Dr. Ramaswamy a couple of times and felt good about that. Also she was concerned that she had not made the pouch small enough because she is only allowed 4-6 oz of liquid an hour and she is hungry/thristy even after that. I told her not to worry, I felt the same way immediately after surgery. Oh, they had to give her an extra 2 incisions because the 2 that the doctor used were not working. So, she has 8 incisions. Poor girl! But she said her pain is well managed, so that is good to hear. They took her off the PCA today and has been on the oral suspension. More than likely she will be discharged tomorrow, so she said she would call me or be online after she gets home. This is such a blessing for her. I am so glad that she is on the losers bench......OFFICIALLY. I felt her pain these last few months when she was waiting. Anyway....talk to you all later.
