~REUNION games-IDEAS-your input NEEDED~

Hi Everyone, I saw Susans post and we had some questions listed there-wanted to put it on a seperate post so everyone can read it. We also want YOUR IDEAS and OPINIONS-ok?  So-here goes.....We are FOR SURE doing what we call- WHITE ELEPHANT EXCHANGE. This game is for everyone-your loved ones can play as well. Whomever wants to participate MUST bring a WRAPPED gift with them-NO NAMES or TAGS on it-just wrap it. IF you have 4 people with you and everyone wants to play-bring 4 wrapped gifts. Ok-so what we do-is when everyone has their gift put on the table-we count the gifts and then put numbers in a hat or something, each person that brought a gift takes a number. Whomever gets #1 goes first, of course-they open their gift-show it to everyone and set it in front of them so everyone playing can see it. Then #2 can either A. Take #1s gift OR pick the table for one. This happens until the last person draws-you can ONLY have your gift taken 3 times-IF someone takes YOUR gift-its your turn next to either take one from someone else (but not the person who just took yours) or one from the table. IF you have more than one gift taken during the course of the game-you may take one of your original gifts back-just not the one taken in that specific turn. I hope thats not too confusing.  Ok-at any rate- When the last person has gone-#1 gets to go one more time-as they didnt have the choice of taking a gift from anyone when they went first. We do this on Mikes side of the family during Christmas and we have a blast-the more people that play-the more fun it is.  Rules: Gift is to be roughly $5.00 and no more.            Gift is to be wrapped with no names or tags on it It can be whatever you want! When we play and a man ends up with a purse full of makeup or something-it makes us laugh!! We will be doing a water balloon toss competition for kids AND adults alike!! Winners WILL get prizes. We actually would like to have enough prizes for every child to get a prize, no matter what-just dollar store goodies-so we will see. Someone suggested maybe a pinata for the kiddies with little gift bags for them to put the goodies in when it breaks-What do you think about that? ~~~~IDEAS for other activities~~~~ If you have ANY other ideas etc-PLEASE feel free to post it or email me and I will throw it out there. I WOULD LOVE some ideas!!! I WELCOME YOUR IDEAS AND THOUGHTS!!!! (begging, begging, begging!!! LOL) We had the idea of having people send me a page with their before and after pics on it-so that I can compile some Reunion Books BEFORE the reunion-and there would be an area in there for people to sign and also for some scrap book pages so you can paste your pictures in your reunion 2007 book-how does everyone feel about that idea? My hubby works for a major copier company and he can and will make color or black and white copies-as much as I need-so IF you think this is a good idea-I will get a post out with the info and then send out my addy for you to do that-LET ME KNOW ASAP.....so we have time for you to send them, ok? Last thing right now-For your recipe for your potluck dish-We originally had thought about having copies at the reunion for someone to just take IF they wanted the recipe for your potluck dish-BUT-what we will be doing instead-is AFTER the reunion-I will put out a post about recipes from potluck dishes at reunion and you can go in and post your recipe there-that way we dont have to worry about all that paper and such at the reunion where it could be windy etc-how does that sound? Janet... Looked around on the computer for game ideas for outside for big groups of people... Found a few so I thougth I would list them and see if any of them sounded fun or ok with everyone... Tug of war Three legged race Sack race Shave the balloon Cotton Ball relay Charades Eating contest..pies, hotdogs or etc... Newlywed game Don't say game...give everyone a safety pin to wear or clothes pin and pick one word no one should say and if you happen to hear someone say it then you can take their pin to see who can get the most pins by a certain time... Was wondering if everyone might want to number each side dish that is brought and after lunch let people pick the dish they enjoyed the most???? Maybe pick the favortie side dish and the favorite dessert?? Are we going to wear name tags....I thought it would be good to do them and put the persons name and who they are to the WLS person....Would be easier to keep up with who goes with who.... Can't wait to see all the ideas everyone comes up with!! I just know we are all going to have a BLAST!!!!

Tammy, Love your game ideas!!!!!! I also have played the white elephant game and it is my favorite, so Janet I will be bringing something for that. I am going to bring my CD's and a boom box too. I have a variety of music and thanks to Vesta a new collection of oldies!!!! Looking forward to seeing you all.

WOW I AM SOOOO EXCITED!!! Janet the white elephant game sounds like alot of laugh and a heck of a good time.  Count all of us in!!  I can try with the pictures but I would rather, (for me at least) would maybe wait until next year.  I dont think I look that much different right now but know next year will be better.  I know alot of people could do that though and I do think it is a good idea! Tammy I love all the game ideas you came up with!  Shave the balloon??  My favorite is the Newley Wed game!  That would just crack me up!!  I have the regular game I bought along time ago, (before Rory) I would have to dig it out of the garage but I would be willing to get it together to play if anyone is interested.  Kinda on a bigger scale.  Let me know!  Maybe Steve would ask the questions since he is single or someone else who would want to. I really love the show Whos line is it anyway.  Some of the things they do are so funny and you really dont have to have anything special to play them.  We used to play it all the time at my house on the holidays.  Too funny!! I also have made pinatas before with paper mache.  They dont look to special but the ones I have seen for sale are kinda high.  I could make one and some of us could bring some stuff to put in them.   Just let me know what everyone thinks.  You can email me if you want [email protected] .  Janet I will call tonight maybe we can 3 way with Tammy or like I said all of us meet in a chatroom.  Anyone have alittle time tonight to meet?  Hint Hint Janet!
