Now for the personal stuff...
Okay Diarrehea (sp) ha**** and won't seem to stop....is this normal...passing gas is no longer an option for me, when I feel it coming I need a bathroom ya know what I mean...surely I will not live life like this, I thought I was having no problems with water and sf popsicles but maybe I am....I'm only 4 days out so if this is normal for this early I'm okay with it....but if not someone let me know! so I can call the dr. and it doesn't seem to be dependent on what I intake, plain water has the same effect, and then I thought well I have been on a liquid diet for quite awhile....what gives..any ideas...is there hope?

Oh and I weighed today and I am down 10lbs from the day of surgery..wow.
Kim,
First of all Congrats on the 10lbs already!
As said before, You should always call your doctor if things dont get better or you start to run a fever, or start to have pains in your tummy. With that being said, I had the same thing happen to me. Really I have had it for most of the time since surgery and I had my surgery the 19th of June. As you get more real food in that will get better. I asked the same question as you and that is what I had been told here.
JUST REMEMBER WHAT I SAID UP TOP, IF YOU HAVE THOSE THINGS OR PAIN ALWAYS CALL YOUR DOCTORS OFFICE!

no laughing at you for sure but remembering those first couple of weeks of the same thing you talk about. I couldnt go anywhere and if i did i always took along a couple sets of clean clothes. It will pass. Not everyone has that problem but the ones of us that do it isnt any fun. The doctor said it was just my new tummy and intestines getting adjusted so not to worry. If you need any other questions answered we are here and i am sure someone has had the same experience . Love and hugs. Jan

Your not alone.... I'm a day behind you and today had my first BM that had me moving quickly towards the bathroom. It seemed to hit after I had some protein drink, but when I think about the fact I've not had any solids for a while what else would I expect. The silver lining was that I HAD a bowel movement - that is a milestone after surgery and glad I could check it off. As for being a minority in this? I think some are real hesitant to discuss BMs....

LOL true but if we can't talk about our after surgery BM's here well where can we ...LOL....oh it's good to laugh and it almost doesn't hurt anymore....
today I have no running trips to the bathroom so far but all I've had is water and popsicles....we'll see I'm gonna have some broth....and I'm hungry..what is that about...thought I wasn't supposed to be....
Hi I had the same problem after my surgery on the 16th of July and asked the doctor and he said to me have you had any solid fod and I said no and then he said okay then it makes perfect sense that if you get only liquid in only liquid will come out. I thought he was being a smart a$$ but he wasn't cause he started to chuckle and said have you ever thought of it that way and I said no I guess not I am just tired of peeing from both ends LOL but don't worry there will be times when you wish for these times again. I am pretty normal now although there are times I stil have that problem and have found out I am pretty intolorable to artificial sweetners. (except splenda it's made from natural sugar)
