It seems that Dr Scott's office supposedly forgot to send my psych eval to the ins co--Yah right!  NOT!  It seems that the ins co as lovely as they are NOT!  did not look around or get the fax passed to my RN Case Manager---so now they have to do the fax thing once again to my ins company--its been 3 weeks and they have kinda sat on it and just sent a letter out Thursday---Grrrrr But one strange thing on there was in the corner it says Admit date August 29th 2007 then it said something to the fact that end date was August 31st 2 inpatient days....Sooooo did they just reserve a surgery date in case they approved it or???  I was kinda confused because I didnt think the ins co gave me a date---I thought the surgeons office did   *shrugs*  I dunno---- So me and case manager Larry have played phone tag and voice mail tag--but due to the nurse in me--Im fairly persistent and will not stop until they have everything they need to make a decision--- So I shall keep you updated but I was just wondering on the admit date thingy I seen on my letter---How wonderful it woul dbe to have a August 29th date!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everyone keep on truckin!  Take care! Lot of hugsssssssssss to you all! Amber

When the doctor makes the request for approval they have to give a date, it just a required field.  Sorry if that bursts your bubble, but I had many admin dates over the 18 months it took me to get approval.  The REAL date will come after you attend the all-day class, at that time they will update the insurance company with this date. From what I hear Dr. Scott and Dr. de la Torre are both filled through August and into mid-September.  Typically after you get approval it can be as much as 3 weeks until you can get into a class, then at least three weeks out for surgery dates. Your on your way, and getting any correspondence from insurance is a good sign.  Its when you dn't hear from them and they quote the guidelines that say they can take up to a certain number of days to make a decision on an elective surgery.  Then, every time they send you a new letter the count on that certain number of days starts all over again.
