~Reunion Details and timeline~

Hi Missouri Board, Well, just a couple more weeks now and ALL of the planning will be over AND the reunion will FINALLY be here!! We are all getting so excited! I have had some ask what time the potluck will start-so I wanted to get a post sent out about all of those details and then the details on the games etc. The potluck luncheon will get underway around 11 am. This is what time we will fire up the grills and start getting everything organized. Susan is bringing a tent-so we will have to move all the picnic tables to that area and we are hoping to have a fold out table to place the dishes on. We may even have a portable shade area for a couple of BBQs....will have to wait and see on that one. After the lunch and clean up etc-we will take a poll on whose potluck dish was our favorite-the winner gets a prize. We will have a water balloon toss game for kids and adults alike. We do not have a time line for the games and such-we are going to play it by ear and just see how it all goes. We will be doing a white elephant exchange game for the adults AND Im not sure about the charades or another adult game-but we will have other games as well. We are going to play-guess who??-where we ALL write down SOMETHING about ourselves and we try to guess who it is and the one with the most correct guesses wins a prize-for instance: I was once a contestant on Jeopardy (I wasnt-but you get the jest of the game now...) Will see~We are also going to be having a raffle. I will be sending out a seperate post about the guess who game so that people can email me directly their info and I will get it all put on one sheet and I will bring them to the reunion with me. I, of course, wont be able to play because I will know who belongs to what fact!!! You can play regardless IF you mail me the fact or not. Using maps.google.com it says its 263 mi – about 4 hours 22 mins from St. Charles, MO.   You all sound like such a hoot to be around, perhaps if we get enough committment from the eastern side of the state to participate we could move this a bit more central so the drive isn't as far?  Such as something around the Lake of the Ozarks area?  

Dear Tammy, I know you werent part of our board at that time, but we did try to get it in the Lake of the Ozarks area-and unfortunately, I was doing all the research, and due to very high deposits and such-it was not financially possible for the places that offered cabins/motel settings. A lot of the people who could and would accomodate our large group without substantial deposits and such, didnt have meeting places or shetler, besides tents and due to our situations, a lot of us need beds. At any rate-there are going to have to be people traveling several hours, no matter where it ended up being. This resort was willing AND able to accomodate us later or earlier in the season AND still offer us all the summer ammenities-which a lot of places in Lake of the Ozarks couldnt. Im sorry. Depending on how it goes with the resort for our reunion-it just may be something that we return year after year. They are going to be keeping the solar heated pool open past Labor Day just for us and are letting us all congregrate in the middle of the resort and such-so they have been very accomodating and didnt raise or double our deposits due to this being what is considered a "reunion"....If you can find something in Lake of the Ozarks area that is affordable and doesnt require non refundable deposits and still offer us all the ammenities we need-I (like the others) would be more than happy to do it there next year.  Thanks. Hi Amber, Anyone, anywhere in their journey is welcome-pre or post op!! Its all about the WHOLE journey!! This also includes ANYONE you want to bring with you-the more the merrier!!! I hope you do make it and bring your loved ones-we are going to have SO MUCH FUN!!! One thing though, Tammy has it listed as Reeds or Reeds Springs, it is NOT- ~~~~THE REUNION IS IN WEST BRANSON, MO~~~~ IF you go to Reeds/Reeds Springs-you will be going the opposite direction than you should be going. I know they still have a couple of cabins left, should you want to stay overnite or for the weekend, like a lot of us are doing. I totally understand how difficult it can be to find a place that is as accomodating as Green Valley, I'll keep my eye out though just in case I come across something. The address I put was a cut and paste from google maps, when I originally tried to put it in as West Branson Google maps instead said it was Reeds Spring since that zip code is assigned to that town also.  Just an FYI for anyone using Google maps for driving directions to the event.   My stab wounds would be plenty healed by then, the pool sure sounds good.

Hi Tammy, Thanks for the info-I will send a post out about that-Google must have it assigned the zip code to the wrong town, then-and I would hate for a lot of people to get lost if they follow the signs for Reeds Springs. So I will post about the directions-you can also get on the website for Greenvalleyresort and they have directions listed there,if you can get to Springfield-you can follow their directions the rest of the way. Anyhow-thanks for the heads up!!! Im glad we found that out now-instead of seeing how many people googled it and ended up somewhere totally different!!!
