DePaul Smoking Policy
Hi All, This is more a question for my co-worker we are on the buddy plan and both having our surgery at DePaul. I quit smoking a couple of months ago
when I submitted my paperwork but my co-worker has not quit yet.
she is in a class that is 2 weeks later but just wanted to check on the time frame that you have to be smoke free. I though it was 2 months prior to the class and testing and she was thinking it was 3 months prior to surgery? (afraid she won't have enough time to quit) Can anyone settle the battle between us?
I was pretty sure they said that they tested for it maybe that is why I am thinking it was tested for at the time of the class. I have been trying to read to see what kind of test are out there. I have found many from blood, urine, breathing and so on does anyone remember what kind it is you do? Thanks again for all.

Mine said at soon as poss. but quit at least a month before. Dont wait till the last min. if you can help it. There is enough to go thru without adding to withdrawl from cigs. after surgery.
If all else fails ask for a prescription of CHANTIX. You can get it from your regular doctor and it is amazing. Everyone I know who has used it has quit. No matter how many cigs they smoked or for how long!
