WHATS HAPPENING TUESDAY

 

Went to the Nursing home today to get my schedule for this week and guess when it starts, tomorrow, that’s right. And I explained to her about the Reunion and all for next week and she was very understanding and all and said that was fine and if any time I had things I had to do or such to let her know and she would accommodate me if at all possible. So im going to take the COF schedule in Tuesday and show her those dates and tell her that I can’t work those Mondays lol see how accommodating she is.

 

I know one thing already I will have to take in a jacket or something to put on while there to keep warm, today I was in there and about froze to death. I will need to get me a lab coat or something, Right now im taking one of my little fleece jackets with me tomorrow night. Anyone have any medium size lab coats that they want to get rid of???

 

Well not many more days till August is over. Im rather anxious for this summer to be over with to tell the truth. I have some plants that need to be moved and cant move them right now until they sort of go dormant. I always do have things that I move in the fall of the year because I don’t like them where I first put them lol

Sometimes it takes 2 or 3 years to find the perfect place for them. Don’t ask me how I know where is perfect but I know it when I get there.

 

Also this fall after the leaves fall we are going to have some trees removed that keep breaking limbs and falling, a maple that is close to my greenhouse that im afraid that a limb will fall off thru the green house room. Also a black walnut tree. That is getting too big and makes a nasty mess in an area that I don’t want it.

Will have to get the tree service out for a couple of them as they are too close to power lines. And I won’t let Joe cut them lol

 

 

 

BRENDA: ouch and ouch on the toes being broken and fixed? You know the saying if it’s not broken don’t fix it lol. That just sounds like it would hurt so badly. I hope they have you sedated, I know they do but it just sounds like it will hurt.

 

I would love to hear you sing sometime. If you sing like the Crabb family, I love them; they are one of my favorite groups.

 

Hey I like that saying (Big Hairy donuts.) mind if I use that?

 

You know the kids nowadays, even the ones that aren’t a pain to be around, use very little of their charm or waste it rather on their family lol

Just be thankful that they aren’t like the boy Brenda described that manhandles his mom and dad. That is so sad that people have to live in fear of their baby.

 

 

JANET: wow maybe stuff is beginning to sink into Stephs. Head, I hope that she and Cory both can learn that they aren’t in control and that when they play nice they get more.

I hope it just wasn’t an act put on by both of them. But so far, so good huh?

 

Wow no temper fights or anything with the phone. Maybe she really is learning that she isn’t going to bully you around.

 

I will keep Mike in my prayers along with you, how are his knees doing? No better I guess.

 

I sure hope you have some pain free time during the reunion, you have worked so hard on this, you deserve to have fun and be able to smile.

 

 

 

BEV: hey that is awesome that you found an exercise buddy. Is it someone that posts on here or was just a lurker and saw you wanting someone to exercise with? Either way that is fantastic.

Hope you had a great support group meeting Monday night. The support groups are so important in this journey we all are taking. Im like you I really would like to go to support meeting more than once a month I really need it, I cant stay motivated well for long lol .

 

 

SHEILA: Im so excited for you for Wednesday. When I had my appointment it was like 2 weeks till they called me to give me a surgery date which was 3 months away. So if that is still the norm you may have your surgery in December. What a great way to start the new year. Great Christmas gift.

 

That is wonderful that Mona is standing behind you 100 % on this for you. That is a good friend. And I hope that she gets hers taken care of soon. So you will be able to be there for her too.

 

 

LANA: The Parlor sounds like a neat place to go. Springfield is getting really upscale isnt it?

Sometimes I wonder if any of us really know what we are doing about this weight loss. Lol

I have been on nothing and I mean nothing but protein shakes and water for 3 days and I have lost down to now I weight 167.lol got below 169 finally. I have gained and lost the same three pounds for like a month and a half. Lol so now im below that. Hopefully it will stay down. Im getting about 120 grams of protein a day. Along with 120 oz of water,when I start thinking im hungry I have another glass of water. And every 4 hours I have a protein shake.

Hey let me know what your plastic surgeon charges for the upper arm and I have consult with Dr. Hawes on the 12^th for consult on lower body lift and arms.

Find out also if your plastic surgeon takes medicare. Ok? Several are trying to find one that does. I know that Dr. Hawes does but don’t know if there are any others in Springfield that do.

 

LOL I can just see you with the nail polish remover. In a panic. I can see me doing that same thing.Glad you had something to get it all up with. Isnt it nice to find something that really works good for a bad situation.

Sounds like you and Pixi have a great time together. Isnt it more fun to play with them this time around than when we had our own? I guess we were too busy trying to figure out how to feed them then .

Howdy Yall... Oky guys..tell me about gaulbladder symtoms....It only started 3 days ago but I had a crappy day all day today...The first two episods I vomited nothing but very nasty tasting bile, but it was clear...This morning I woke nausiated and stayed that way for the longest...My mouth kep****ering like crazy like I was going to vomit but never did. Then I started tasting the bile taste and hadn't even vomited....I felt so bad I went to bed and slept for several hours....I have also been having hot and cold spells...I took my temp late this afternoon but it was only 99.1,I didn't think that was bad....I haven't really had pain yet just alot of heaviness in my chest, a little lower than between my boobs.... So my question is did any of you that had to have your gualbladder removed start out with the bile and low grade fever before you really had the pain?  I'm going to see my pcp tomorrow about meds, so I guess I will ask her and see what she says...But was wondering how it went for some of yall... Jan...CONGRATS1!! I hope you like your new job.  Janet...Glad things went better with the second visit..Did yall talk to him about any of the stuff that has been going on??? How many awards did you want made up? I ask in the last email I sent but have not heard from you yet..I was going to start looking around this and see what ones I in the programs I have on my computer....And let me know what stuff you have left you need some help with. Tammy I was catching up on some old posts and came across your question about gallbladder and bile. What you described sounds more like what I experienced when I started having acid-reflux problems.   The stuff you are are throwing up is because your esophogas is not closing properly and your stomach bile is allowed to move upwards. When I had gallbladder problems it was excruiating pain, those that have had children compared it to child birth labor pains.  It would make me double over for 20 minutes and I'd sweat profusely and then it would just go away for another day.  Typically it would start about 30-40 minutes after eating a heavy meal.   Let me know if you have any further questions since I've had a weak esophogus since I was 16 years old and had my gallbladder removed when I was 30 years old. (I'm 44 now, you can do the math).

Dear Jan and OH Peeps~ Good Tuesday morning to you all!!!~I am so happy today that I dont care how bad my back, knees and tummy hurt-its not going to wipe the smile off my face today, at least!! So-I went to get Stephanie at work last night-she worked until 10 pm-and when she got in the Suburban, she tells me right off the bat that her and Cory broke up. He has had another g-friend for almost the whole time he has been here-and she is pregnant now. OMG~ He told her that IF she called his phone ever again, he was going to send the police out here to file a harassment complaint against her. Thats a joke!! Anyway-she told Mike and I last night that she was sorry and then she admitted that she would have NEVER even really gone out with him, but she was initially just going out with him because of her and Spencer having problems (breaking up) and then he would tell her that he was or did hurt himself whenever she wouldnt talk to him-she actually seemed rather relieved about the whole ordeal and we stayed up with her until almost midnite just talking to her and I HAVE MY DDAUGHTER BACK!!!! THANK YOU ALL SOOOO MUCH FOR THE PRAYERS-I appreciate them so much-and I am praising God AND all of you!! Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart!!! That could be MY daughter knocked up-had I given in and let her do what she wanted. I knew that little punk wanted to get in her pants-thats why I was so insistant on her getting the BC shot-so that the same thing wouldnt happen to Stephanie. I would never want HIM to be a part of ANY childs life-but not one I had to deal with ecspically. So, today I am just praising God and all my prayer warriors that helped us get through this. What a relief this is for us and for our family-and its so welcome-its been so peaceful here for the past week that I am almost scared!! It was so nice just to sit and talk to her last night and she was so open and honest with us-and she said at one point-go ahead-tell me that "I told you so" and both Mike and I told her that we were so sorry SHE got hurt-but that Cory showed his true colors-which is what we saw in him the very first time we met him-and that from now on-we wanted her to be cautious-and NOT jump in-and NOT to allow ANY boy to rule her life or her attitude!! She understood and I would be doing cartwheels in my yard right now-if I could-LOL LOL!!! So-then I couldnt get to sleep-I looked at the clock at 1 am, still laying there-back and neck hurting....anyhow-I hear Jon get up and he walked around the house, I got up and went and tucked him back into bed....2 hrs later-he was up again and in our room-he didnt have a bad dream or anything, he just couldnt sleep???? THEN...at 4-he was up AGAIN~This time he layed on the couch for a bit-and by 4:30 he was just sitting chatting away at Mike and I. So-I thought, well, I am gonna stay up and watch the eclipse-really couldnt see it very well-it was cloudy this way-but it sure was dark out! I came back in at 6 am and then told Jon that we had to go back to bed-and I laid in his bed with him and he fell back to sleep. He is still sleeping-and I hope he does for a bit so he can catch up on his sleep.....OR he will be one cranky little man today!!

Ok-so I dont know if any of you remembers me saying about the time we found the scorpion in our bathroom, that I hadnt seen a jumping wolf spider (they are HUGE-the ones we have had IN the house are as wide as an adult foot or hand!) Well-I can scratch that off my list now too! Last night it was just about a foot away from me-and I threw Jons hotwheels car holder (carrying case box) right on top of it as it jumped in the air!!! We usually kill at least 2-so I can expect one more before its all said and done~EW-they are the nastiest things! YUCK!! Well, we have a pretty good response on the Guess Who game so far-I WISH I could play!! Of course-I would never guess ANY of them, but thats the fun in it. We are JUST doing the board members since we read each others posts OR see each other at the meetings or whatever.....I cant wait. My list gets bigger each day and I seem to think of more things we could or I should have planned-but its too late in the game to put together some of the ideas. Maybe for next year-will see. I have a couple more posts to send out-about like clothing exchange sizes etc-so we arent all hauling clothes that no one could use or what have you. Thats unnecessary work and space to take up-so I will try and get that one out today as well. I keep forgetting to remind everyone to bring bug spray/repellant since some of us will be out in the evening etc-and it may even get cool there since it is right off the lake-so we should all bring a jacket with us as well. I wonder if anyone would still be interested in making their shirts we spoke of? The ones saying-Im a loser, or proud to be a loser-and having the t-shirt contest? I am making one-because I am bringing a sharpie and having ALL my peeps sign my shirt. Then, next year I will make a different one. Thats going to be one of my shirts I will keep forever. I am pretty excited  about that! Well, I better sign off and get the reunion posts done and get my day started. Im floating on air today. My ulcers are killing me, have been since yesterday, but I havent been able to get my medicine filled-so I will do that today or tomorrow. As always, your in my thoughts and prayers. Janet

Good morning OH family....  It's Tuesday my first day of a work week.  School started here yesterday therefore it's been a little busy since I started work this morning I hope this isn't a taste of what the entire week is going to be like? I went to our support group meeting last night and it was great as usual.  I learned a lot and felt good when I left.  I took my best friend and her mom (all of us live together) and my friends mom who is 86 and before going to this meeting didn't think I should have the surgery but now that she is a little more educated she is starting to see the benifits and not so scared of the risk.  She still thinks one should try everything else out there before having the surgery and I tried to explain to her that I have tried other means of losing weight all of which was a failed attempt.   I go this afternoon to see the gastro. dr. about my liver problems I'm a little nervous about that but I do want to know what is going on with my liver and why my liver test are always elevated?  I hope it's nothing serious or anything that will hinder my surgery in any way. I went shopping with a friend the other day, we went to Dillards and I used to like that store when I was able to wear the womans sizes but they only go to size 24 and I'm in a 26/28 so that store bores me cause I can't wear anything there.  My friend is like a size 10 so she can find really cute things there.  I told her that one day soon I will like this store again because I will be able to wear their clothes, I can't wait for that day to come.  I'm so tired of only being able to shop at 2 stores for clothes.   Jan;  I had posted a request for an exercise buddy on the Kansas Board since I knew people on there would probably be closer to me.  I think I did 2 post before someone replied to it.  She lives in Gardner KS. but goes to the YMCA in Olathe which is where I work.  It's about 15 miles from my house so it's not too bad I don't mind the drive right now while the weather is good now come winter that's going to be a different story I probably won't be able to go as much I don't like snow/ice.  I am meeting her tomorrow for the first time she had her surgery by Dr. H too I think it was in March or April?  She has lost 93 lbs I think she said so far?  Anyway I am looking forward to going to water aerobiic tomorrow with her.   Are you looking forward to your new job starting?  I hope all goes well for you.   Tammy;  When I had gallbladder problems it was mostly pain, really bad pain.  It took them 3 yrs to diagnois it though because every time they did a sonogram I had no stones so they said the pain wasn't from my gallbladder.  Finally after complaining so much to my dr. she sent me to a surgeon and it took that surgeon to run this one special test (don't remember the name of it) but it showed the function of the gallbladder and mine was only functioning at 12% and that is why I was having so much pain because it wasn't pushing out the bile like it should.  I did have some nausea with it but nothing severe.  I hope they are able to find the cause of your pain and other symptoms you are having keep after them and be persistant.  Good luck. Good Morning to everyone here on the OH board! 

Sorry I have been so busy lately I have neglected my MO board friends. Rory is looking, looking, and looking for the best job he can get offered. I have to tell you something I find so funny about men who don’t know or understand how to use computers, or at least the men I have been around anyway. If they don’t know how to use it they think it is evil or bad, lol! Rory has found out lately that you cant just walk in to companies and apply for jobs the old way. He hates the internet and swears the Devil is behind everything that has to do with it. Okay, I don’t want to make everyone here think he is a nut, (quiet Wings and Mel), but sometimes he is so goofy! So he has had to get an email address and has been emailing applications out to all these trucking companies. You would think it was the end of the world! He was at the office for 8 hours on Friday and 8 hours yesterday and here again today! I will be so glad when this is over with! I cant get anything done at work, lol! I swear yesterday I was waiting for him to ask me where the ANY key was!!!!

JAN Sounds like those beautiful flowers keep you busy all season long! I would be scared of those big trees too, last year when we had all those storms up here and we all lost our power from the trees falling on the power lines it was terrible! The guys have been trying to talk me into cutting down all the cotton wood trees that line our back yard. I don’t like the white stuff that blows around in the spring but they are really tall and I do love the shade they give. I really hate to get rid of them!

ERIN Glad to see you have your internet up and going! Also glad to see you posting on the board! Hope things are going good for you. I bet your super busy with the new home and getting things were you want them. Hope you can make it to the reunion!

TAMMY~AMMY Sorry that you are having tummy problems. I thought I was having gallbladder problems but I don’t have any stones, (they did an ultra sound) but Natalie told me that it does mean that you are not having problems just because they don’t see any stones. There is another test they can do to test the function of your gallbladder also. It really sounds like to me there is a problem with your gallbladder. That is what the gallbladder does is release bile into your system. If you are tasting bile that is not good, defiantly ask your pcp what is going on. Hope you are okay, please let us know what is going on!!

WINGS I have been wanting to call you but my evenings have been really bad with my back lately. I think it is because my sister -in-law and brother went out of town on vacation again and I had to work 3days in a row for 8 hours and then have the phones all those nights plus the whole weekend. What the heck, I did one little bond and that was it!! Well I guess it could have been worse, no bonds at all!

Cory being civil ??? This almost scares me!! Makes me feel like he’s up to something! That is bad of me to think like that, huh?? I will pray and try to think good thoughts, (haha)! I love you girl and would really like to talk to you but I am getting to were I know that you have so much on your plate right now I hate to call. Just know that I am here for you and I really would like to help with the reunion, you have done so much by yourself. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help! I just got off the phone with you , YEAAAAAA!! About the Steph and Cory thing. I am so happy for you and Mike. Well, for the whole dang family. I am sorry that she had to go thru all of this with him but maybe it will make her stronger for the next guy!!

I just read your new post on here and I am with you on the friggin spider thingy! Yucky!!!!!  When I lived in Florida, one night my dad was sleeping in his bed and it was pitch dark in there. He said he woke up and something was crawling on his chest. It was too dark to see what it was so he just grabbed it in his hand and threw it across the room. You have to know my dad is deaf in one ear and wears hearing aids, except at night, of course. Anyway when he threw it he heard it hit the way. WTH!!! I slept at night with my light on in my room until we moved back up here to Missouri!!!! I also loved those flying ****roaches they had down there too. I am so scared of stuff like that if a wasp or bee or something flys in my window while I am driving I swear I will jump right out of the car without stopping and putting it in park!! Okay, guess I am a wussy when it comes to creepy crawly things!!!!!!!!

Girl you are so lucky about the finger nail polish! I know that those white spongy things are wonderful arint they? Last year when we had all the ice and snow up here, stupid me what breaking it up and knocking it off the hood of my van and when it was gone I had all these little white scratches all over the hood. Someone told me about the Mr. Clean ones and to try them on the hood. Wow, it worked great. The scratches came right out! The restaurant you went to sounds very nice. It is hard to find a place now a days to meet with friends and talk. Before surgery I used to try to go to like Applebee’s and Fridays. Those places like that are so loud you cant hear yourself think, let alone have a conversation with anyone. Cant wait to see ya.

Hello Missouri, Beautiful day today - not so hot but not really cool.  They are saying we may get some rain tomorrow and that would be fine with me.  I washed Winnie the Mini Cooper on Sunday but she won't melt so I prefer occasional rain!!! Went to the neurologist this AM about the numbness in my lower left leg.  She said she thinks it is just a pinched nerve caused by losing the fat padding I've been used to and (ON NO) crossing my legs so much.  Now, John has told me the leg crossing was probably the problem but I don't want to stop, remember that was my goal from the beginning, so I've been hoping that wouldn't be mentioned by the Doctor. I haven't confessed this to DH yet - I'm debating whether to tell him or not. She does want to do a nerve test on Friday just to be sure she's right in her diagnosis but I'm sure that it's not a brain lesion - I have no brain!!! We are going out for dinner tomorrow night and then on Friday night my stepson will be here from Las Vegas for four days and the one from California comes in on Saturday for 8 days.  I will be coming to the reunion - DH and DSS will have to fend for themselves one that one day.  I know they will do fine without me - in fact it will be quality father-son time for them. Jan, so glad you are getting started on the new job.  I think you'll love it if your knees will let you. You are such a positive sunny person - just what a nursing home needs. Janet - praise God.  I'm so glad we serve an awesome God who answers prayers in His way and His time.  We forget that He is going to take care of us and our children and get overwrought - or at least I sure do.  I'm so glad Corey showed his true colors to Stephanie and that she was mature enough to talk to you and Mike and let you know what she'd learned from the experience with him.  It will be so good to see you all at the reunion.  I am really looking forward to the 8th.  I love those white elephant exchanges - I'm a good stealer!!!  I also hope to get a shirt to bring/wear.  Lots to do and want to wait until I get paid the end of the week!!!  You know how that goes!!! Tammy-ammy,  I had gallbladder surgery years ago but my pain was episodic - intense and awful and then would pass and not be there for awhile and then another episode.  I had stones and after a particularily bad spell I just told the doctor to get it out.  I didn't/haven't really had any problems without a gallbladder.  Sausage is about the only thing that doesn't set well with me and that may just be because I used to get it from McDonalds!!!  I always said it felt like someone heated up an orange until it was red hot and then stuffed it under my right ribcage. YUCK!!! Bev,  sure wish you could come to the reunion but I understand finances.  I always seem to run out of $$$ before I run out of places to spend.   And I know about our fur-babies.  They are lifetime responsibilities and we have to make arrangements for them.  Maybe next year you can plan and make arrangements to be there.  You'll probably be a new "person" then too. Susan, I can't wait to see you too.  We need time to just sit and talk and talk.  The reunion is going to be the chance to spend time with those we care about and to meet new folks and get to know them better.  I CAN'T WAIT!!!
