My surgery is Thursday!

I cannot believe it but the day is almost here! I have my lapband schedule for Thursday. My paperwork is complete, insurance finally agreed, appts and presurgery work is done,  everything is all finished.  This has been a year long process for me and I cannot believe it is in 2 days. Now that my work is organized, people and projects reassigned, I have lots of time to worry! :) Any last minute advice or suggestions would be appreciated. I am in St. Louis and confident with my Dr. I know I am doing the right thing. I am injecting 90 ccs of insulin a day. I want to be healthy and live a long life with my husband and my two kids! I am hoping that includes no insulin shots. My blood sugar has been good with no meds and only broth and sugar free popsicles. I am hoping all stays the same after the surgery. I also have a pituitary tumor and all of these health concerns makes it hard to lose weight and maintain it. I am hoping this surgery is my tool for a better life!  I appreciate all of the info I have read on the site. It has helped me when I was second guessing myself too!

Hi there! I agree that you should just relax and enjoy the fact that your new life is right around the corner! Just to give you a 'boost', I hope, after my surgery, which was August 6th, I found that while in the hospital, my overactive bladder I had had for about 4 months just disappeared! I had very little pain, and since returning home, I am thrilled to take my blood sugar tests, which have ALL been normal with no meds! My blood pressure is better than it has been in years, and this is just 3 weeks! I have also lost 41.5# since July 24, when I started the liquid protein. Best wishes on your upcoming surgery! Good luck and God Bless!        LaNeta    Big Hug
