What can I expect on my first office visit?

Hi everyone. I have my first appointment with Missouri Bariatric Service in Columbia, MO next Wednesday. All my papers are turned in, blood work done, and I requested Dr. Scott for my surgeon. They just said I have an appointment, is it to see Dr. Scott? more test? Am I getting close to surgery? Thanks, Helen 

Hi Helen, I just got back from my appt in columbia. I had to sign a few papers(privacy act etc) and then Jennifer took me back and took my vitals and weight.  Then I went back and sat in the waiting room for about 10 minutes. Then I was taken back to another room and the nurse went over my health history and then I saw Dr. Suttmoeller.  He was a very pleasant Dr. Ask me some questions and we discussed what test he wanted me to take. Told me after I had my psych eval they would submit to ins. Then I will do the test he wants me to take. Then the class they have for you to take after that they will schedule surgery. Nothing to it...It was all a very good experience, and I am glad they are doing some test to make sure I am ready to have surgery. Good luck with your visit.

Thanks Beverly for the information. When you wrote "Told me after I had my psych eval they would submit to ins. " Great! I already had that done, and they have that too, so maybe I'll be hearing from the insurance afterwards. I hope so.  Helen
