Pre-Op Liquid Diet

Hi Everyone,  this is probably my hundredth question this month.  But I am just so exicited.  I go to my class on 9/12 on this day I will get my surgery date.  I was just wandering how long everyone had to do their liquid diet before surgery?

I didn't have to do one at all, its an individual decision based on different factors.  I had been on a 6-month diet already for insurance purposes so I think they thought my liver had already been downsized from it.  That meant the last couple of months before surgery I just had to eat somewhat smart so that I didn't gain any weight between my class and surgery day. From what I hear some have had to do a two or three week liquid diet. 

Hi !!  Well I was banded and wasonly on liquids for 2 days It does make the liver smaller and easier to work on. Good luck Paul

Thanks for your replies.  I was just curious.  At this point he could tell me 6 weeks and I would be like "sure thang"  I am just so anxious.  I am trying to utilize my time before hand to become prepared.  My free time now is making a cookbook for after surgery with recipes I am getting from different people and sights.  I think I have about 50 protein shake recipes....  Well thanks again.

My liquid diet is 2 weeks pre-op I know it will be hard but I am keeping in mind  this will create the path of least resistance for the surgeons.lol good luck the cookbook is a great idea.
