WHATS HAPPENING FRIDAY

Well another night down for orientation. Gosh I hate following people around , they never do things the way I would and makes me a nervous wreck lol. The two girls I have had that are orientating me are so scatterbrained that I wonder how they get ready for work in time. Lol. They are really sweet girls but sort of dingy . Oh well I finally got one of them to tell me all of the things that have to be done during a shift and so I now know and the next time I work I think I will be on my own. The Sept schedule is out and of course im working Labor day but that is ok with me. No problem with it.

 

We had two admissions tonight and I took one and the girl that was orientating me took the other one , I had all of mine done and went and did assessments on hers and mine both and gave both of them their T.B. test , did the medicare charting on both of them while she was still trying to get her chart together and orders written on her admit.

She kept saying you better check again you probably have forgotten something so I took the checklist and went down it one by one and said nope it is all done. I think she got mad a me over that ….you think?

 

I was pretty miserable tonight at work , I had so much gas it was awful. I kept ducking into the restroom lol. I know they all think I must need to go to the bathroom a lot.

LOL  But we all know that they wouldn’t want me out in public with the gas we can have don’t we? And I forgot to take any gas x with me tonight. Guess that will teach me.

 

When I got off work I checked my phone and had a message from Craig…He said to tell everyone that his brother made it thru the pacemaker surgery and also wanted everyone to remember him in prayer since his foot is still hurting him.

 

 

DEBBIE D: I am really upset that you wont be with us at the Reunion . That is such back luck. I think about you often wish you would be here for sure.

I know you are really looking good by now. When Bev said she had a partner from Kansas to exercise with and that she used Dr. H. I just knew it had to be you, but she didn’t say who.

Im glad that the two of you can exercise together that is great. Makes it easier to go when you have a partner.

 

The new member of your family sounds really cute. Roxie that is a cute name too.

 

Have fun with your grandson this week end. And your new doggie too.

 

 

JANET: so sorry that you are sick. Hope you are feeling better now. I know you really wanted to go to therapy with Steph yesterday, or at least I would have wanted to. Would have been good to talk to the therapist about the turnaround.

 

I think I will like my job once I am thru with orientation so I can be in charge by myself. Lol And yes the grandson seems to be ok now. I think it was his teeth.

 

I think I have lost weight this week too but I know it isnt 8 pounds lol that would be funny if it were but I know better.

 

Janet I think Tammy , Joe and her sister are going to be staying in our extra room on Sat. Night but Julia im sure we can find a couch or something somewhere, with someone. I guess you have the cabin already reserved so maybe someone else that needs a bed can share with you and save you and them some money.

 

 

BEV:  I hope you have fun with your sister at the craft fair. Yeah before surgery it really is about will power to resist all those things on a stick. After surgery it wont be nearly as hard to do believe me.

 

Sure am glad that you didn’t eat the pieces of what ever in the parfait. Did you call the McDonalds about it? You should . wonder what it was?

Sure sounds like dumping. What had you eaten to cause it?

From what I hear from everyone that once is enough for most people to be convinced that they don’t want to do that again.

 

 

BEVERLY  B:Is your psych doctor going to bill to Medicare for you , because medicare will pay for a portion of it. Sept 12 is not far out at all and when you get that done and sent in they will set you a date is that what you said? I hope so you have been waiting a long ttime.

Yeah they say water beds don’t give your back enough support, maybe you ought to try the select comfort bed, the air gives you more or less the same comfort as the water mattress but it also has a firmness to it also.

I know since I have been using it my back doesn’t hurt nearly as bad.

 

Im sure glad that you are getting to do a lot of your test in Sedalia , that is a lot closer to you isnt it..

I think it might have been to much not what I ate unless the 1/4 graham cracker did it... Its Friday and I don't have to work  ~  Oops I almost forgot I will be off until a week from Monday unless I get called in today.  I dislike being "on call" but its $2 / hour. My sis is an ADON @ a small nursing home near Kirksville and she put her whole heart and soul into it.  I think it takes a special person to work in Nursing homes! Had to tell my 6 year old grandaughter that I can't come down tomorrow and she still can't understand why Grammy has to have surgery & doesn't she love me anymore?  I am sending her a new "Webkin" this am to get her to realize that I still love her.  I spoil her in small ways that only a Grammy can do! Am trying to get a hold of Tammy V to see if she would want to go to Springfield/Branson the next weekend for the reunion as I should be able to travel by then.  Just have to indulge me with a bit of Grammy time. Dear Jan and OH Peeps~ TGIF already!! I cant believe there is only ONE day left of August, that blows my mind! Time sure has just flown by this year.....and its already time to shut the pool down! Argh. Gonna have to start walking and treadmill again in a couple of weeks. Yuck! Dont have a lot planned for today-but have some chores I want to get done. I was going to mow today, but something happened to the rider last night and it started smoking like crazy, so had to shut her down! Then when I got into the Suburban, the rearview mirror was on the seat-dont know what happened there-and then to top that off-when I went to get Steph at work, the brake light came on (on the hill) and the brakes went ALL the way to the floor!! So-Mike is going to be putting brakes on it tomorrow-its WAY too big to be driving wondering if the brakes are gonna stop it! If its not one thing, its ten others. I dont feel stressed out tho-since things are going better with Stephanie, I sure feel like we can handle anything now-LOL..... **Jan-maybe the girls at work are intimidated by the "new girl" and that you working so quickly and efficiently-no matter how good that is to you and I-isnt always good when someone feels threatened that they have been doing it longer-and you come in and do it better. Im happy for you-but I used to work with girls like that, who would get bent out of shape when I caught on quicker or did a good job-when they were there a lot longer and couldnt..... On your gas issue-heck, I remember visiting my g-parents in their nursing home-and it always smelled like crap-you couldve just blamed it on the person whose room you were in, but then after the 3rd or 4th room that smelled that way WHILE you were in it, they may have caught on-LOL....funny visual tho, huh? You could always use that as a silent weapon!! Im glad to hear Craigs brother made it through the pacemaker ok. I will continue to keep them both in prayer. I hope they find out whats going on with Craigs foot and it can be corrected easily. Well, I have 6 days to get my stuff sorted and get down to Branson. We are all going on the 6th-the ones staying in our cabin anyway....I feel like I am going away for the first time! Its been a long time since I have been able to just go and relax and I am telling you what-I am really, really looking forward to really just doing nothing and to being in that atmosphere there again. I love nature and sitting out there watching the sunrise or sunset and having plans to do nothing-all day IF we want. Mike cant come down until Friday-neither can Megan and Aaron and I think Steph is going down Friday as well. Will see. ***Im still missing some peoples Guess Who little known fact. I am putting the worksheet together today-so if I dont get them today, they wont be on the worksheet. I have 2 messages in my OH-and I hope they are some more facts, will see. Im having problems with my OH email-so I hope that I am not missing some responses. We have some really interesting little known facts and I am pretty excited about this!!!

Good Morning Peepers and Sneakers, (sneakers sound so much better than lurkers, lol)! Well today is a good day! I feel pretty good this morning I am going to post a few wow moments separately today a little later. They sure made me feel great! The tummy troubles are going away, I think! I am not sorry to see that happen. I think today is the first day since my surgery date that I am truly glad I had this done. I know that my Super Angel (Wings) and all of you here got me thru it. I would have never made it to here without ALL of you! I wish I had some time to address everyone here and say at least ONE thing that makes you all special to me. I cant because as I mentioned before I have some serious problems with my memory because of the medication I have to take everyday and also from an accident that happened awhile back. I can meet people and the next day I cant remember names and other stuff but hey things could be worse! I am telling you this because please do not take offense if I forget stuff you told me or your name. It makes me feel bad at times because some people think that I don’t care enough to remember, but that is not true! At least for some people, lol! Anyway, thank you to everyone who has helped me with my journey, thru the bad and now the good!!! Enough (as Wings would say) with the mushy stuff!!

Sounds like it wont take you too long before your in charge there at your new job. Seems like they really need a person who knows what they are doing there. They are really lucky to have someone with so much experience.

I hear you on the gas thing! I was stupid not too long ago and decided that I really wanted some chili, that was the first time I had tried any kind of bean. Whoa Nelly, I sounded like that part around the campfire in the blazing saddles movie! I wouldn’t leave my room for the rest of the night! Gas X is one of my best friends now, lol!

Tell Craig he is in my prayers and I hope that his foot is feeling better real soon!

Have you heard from Tony? I haven’t seen him post any jokes or anything in awhile, I hope he is doing good too. Wish I had his email, I usually have a joke or two I would like to share with him. He cracks me up with his jokes he used to post here!

This is what I will be doing tonight....I have had one heck of a week....tooooo many new recruits...long, long hours have been put into the job this week...today we are all done but unless I want to take leave time, I get to sit here for a little while longer..... Hope this post finds everyone doing well...I took my B12 injection today because I know it is low because I am bruising again and my legs feel like they are going to burn right off my body....Called the doctor to see if I could get some of my medicine increased but he said that I needed to come see him because I have not seen him since March...so maybe he will draw all my levels for me... Dalton got to pick up his football gear last night and practices start next Tuesday....so now my evenings will get full....and in two weeks he will be starting a special computer club after school on Monday evenings that he was hand picked for....also this year in school he is in an interactive classroom and alot of their work is done on the computer....that is his "cup of tea.."  he is already asking for his very own computer.... Jaiden is going to be working very hard this weekend on getting potty trained...bought her own little chair....when I took it out last night and put it in the living room she took off all her clothes and then her diaper and sat on it, of course she did not do anything in it but that is a start....     You sound like I would like to hire you at my nursing home.  Too bad it is a long commute.  Thought about you when I was doing pos today and I line up 12 ppd for my nurse to do tomorrow.  I would love to hire a nurse like you with exxperience.  Colette
