I was just discharged today I'm on clear fluids with sugar free popsicles. I misscalculated my grams to ounces, I chopped up 7 popsicles which equals 10 oz. This and about 14oz of broth/water this is all I have had today. As my whole body hurts from the surgery, I don't know if the popsicles could get me stuck. I'm walking and doing everything they told me to, I just don't want anything to give me problems.  Thanks for the advise, Bret Renee

I dont know what you mean by getting you stuck. You are doing fine just try to keep increasing your fluid amount daily. that is the most important thing right now you dont want to get dehydrated ok?  sip and get in as much water , broth, popcycles  as you can, also s.f. jello is good too.  keep up the good work. Dear Bret, I hope this post finds you doing much better!! First, let me say, we all get concerned-but liquids are the easy part! Just take small sips and you should be ok. Dont be afraid to try other liquids-ecspically if you can find something you really like. You can do crystal ligh****er, of course, tea and coffee (decaf right now, I believe) sf popsicles, broth, sf jello, propel-stuff like that. Im going to say this next thing out of experience-you HAVE to sip-if your eyes are open-Sip, Sip, Sip-and when you think your gonna die from sipping so much-Sip some more!!! I didnt-and I got dehydrated-and they wanted to put me back in the hospital! I learned the hard way-and it sure made me feel sick and puney-so my advice to you-is sip like your life depends on it. There are not many who can do that 64 oz just as soon as they get home from the hospital-when I first came home-I was sitting at around 25 oz per day too-but you have to try to get in as CLOSE to 64 as possible. As soon as I was getting in over 40-they were happy with me-AND I started to feel better!!! Like I said-liquids shouldnt get stuck-and if you are sipping small sips etc-you should be fine!!! Good luck-and keep us posted, ok? Love, Janet

Hi there! I had RNY on August 6th. My main staples were water and SF popsicles the first week. They give you a feeling of 'eating' as you can chew them!  My nut said the first week, protein wasn't as important as getting fluid in, which I did. Good luck! LaNeta
