This is your weekend anchor reporting in Jans place.  .  Lets keep this post going for the weekend and if all the friends in Branson have a cp they can join in too.           Roses are red,              Violets are blue                Hope you are having fun                  While playing in the sun.    NO, i am not a poet either    before I forget, want to wish a Happy Birthday to Tony on Sept 7th, and also to Chipster on Sept. 6th.  Gee, both of these wonderful  people come to the KCMetro Support Group.  Hope you both had a great day.  Tony, your life is so different now since you had surgery and Chipster - you can prepared for the ride of your life.     Cant wait to see you both again on the 24th at our next meeting.      I was very busy today as we have our annual Fall Festival in Concordia.  For any of you who dont know our area, our little German town turns into  a big festival with beer gardens and all.  I worked in the food stand today for 3 hours and that is the extent of my participating.   We sell hamburgers and homemade pie and cold drinks.  I had to work from 2-6pm.  So I got up at 430 and went to work early as we have to have RN coverage for 8 hours.  So its been a long day.    I hope everyone will post and keep this going this weekend.  We finally had some much needed rain here also, and it was during the night last nite so the flowers and all were really perky today .        Dar, thanks for posting about Cindy.  Hope she is feeling much better and as time goes, she will feel better each day .  Just so she remembers to drink and drink and drink  And also remember to  This is very important the first few weeks after surgery.        Jan, you ask why I had to work weekends as DON.(Director of Nursing).  Sometimes I dont have coverage so I have to or every 8th week, I have to be weekend manager(the department heads have to take turns)  On those weekends it is just 4 hours each day.  I am filling this position presently as interim  but they are in no hurry to get it filled.  When they no longer run ads to try to fill the position, you know you might be there forever.  I have not pushed the issue because my administrator just lost her husband to cancer, and she has enough on her plate right now.      Ok everyone, please respond and post on here saturday.      And all of you people and dear friends in Branson, please remember to drink, take your vitamins and dont indulge on too many wrong foods.  Dont want any of you to dump and be groaning with abdomen pains.  Have lots of fun, but please be safe and come back to us soon.        May God bless and keep you all in His care.                                               Your weekend anchor,                                                   Colette

Hey there all you peeps from Missouri!!!!!! I hope that the ones inBranson are having a blast!!! I made it through day one of the liquid diet with only one major breakdown and that was when my daughter walked passed me with her dinner plate and I ( like an idiot had made them roast and carrots and potatoes) my favorite meal in the world and I got a good smell of it and I said ^&%^$%^&&^^%%^*&*((^&^&*%^&^%^%&^ liquid diet then I cried for about an hour then I realized that that roast is not worth me ruining my chances of having my surgery when i am scheduled and  I loaded up in the car told DH and children I loved them and I went to bingo ( did not win) but had sometimes alone to think about things...anyway Saturday is looking to be a garage sale, playing baseball, dance factory and guitar hero playing day for me and the kids...DH is working right now and will end up sleeping most the day since he wont be in until 5-630 am so we will make the day a hit and all... Ashland is having their fall festival tomorrow also so we may attend that for a while all depends on the rain i suppose....I attend college online and I have a major math test due on sunday so part of today will be spent finishing that test up... anyway you all have a wonderful day and please say a little prayer for me I know we all been on the liquid diet I just did not realize that the first day would be so stinking hard for me I was sure I would sail through with no problems :(

You must begin to think of yourself as becoming the person you want to be, before you can actually become that person.

Hello Missouri, I'm home from Branson.  Glenda and I went down for the day since we live close.  It was great fun.  We had a delluge of biblical proportions and got pretty wet - just as we got the lunch buffet set up under a leaky shelter by the pool.  We loaded all the food into the back of a covered pickup and moved it to Janet, Mel and Susan's cabin and just uncovered it and carried on.  We are good at adaptation.   There were nine women there who have had surgery and we figured out we have lost a total of 1152 pounds.  Pretty amazing.   The foods were wonderful and many creative dishes were presented.  Lots of good SF foods and meat dishes and beans.  Yummy. I am exhausted and want to got o bed, even though it's just 8:00pm. I'll talk to you all more tomorrow. Hugs, Lana

"WLS is about making better choices, a healthier lifestyle and seeing how little you can eat.  Portion control is the key to all weight loss surgeries.  Bottom line - it isn't how much you can eat - it is how little you can eat."
