Hi everyone,   I am looking for suggestions.  I have the okay to swallow my pills but it seems I can hardly keep them down.  As a matter of fact the only time I have ever thrown up is after taking my pills.  Yes, I have several to take especially in the morning.  I drink and drink... What I thow up is bubbles. usually.  Anyone else have this problem.  Thanks in advance

I cant help you as I did not swallow regular pills for quite a while.  To this day I still take chewable vitamins and calcium.  The only pill I now (almost 2 years out) I swallow is biotin, B1 and 1 aleve a day.  Have you tried chewable?  Colette

I take a thyroid and hormone replacement pill and I have to cut them in half  if it is a large pill I would do that...or also you could put them in some applesauce and take them. I also use chewable vitimins and calcium. and ask for liquid antibiotics and pain meds. I wish I had more ideas for you! nutti

Wish I had a magic solution for you but I take a huge prenatal multi, a big B-complex, a Pepcid, a Ditropan, a Plaquinil and a Tylenol in the AM with no problem.  I do drink quite a lot of water with the pills and eat nearly immediately.  You might try a soda cracker before your first pill.  I really don't know but remember when I was pregnant crackers helped. Hope you figure out something soon.  It is so much easier not to have special pills. Hugs, Lana

I think the answer may lie in you saying you ar throwing up bubbles.  That sounds similar to descriptions from people who have food stuck.  I'm taking one pill a day and even though it is small I'm cutting it in half and talking half at a time with a gulp of water.  Are the ones you are taking capsules or pill form?  If they can be cut up, I would suggest doing that into one or more smaller pieces and then take one little piece at a time with some water until they are all down.  If the problem is that they are hitting on an empty stomach you may need to wait to take them until you are eating something and take them shortly after with just a little sip of water. I hope this helps.

Talk to your doctor. The doctor may be able to perscribe you liquid medicines to take instead of pill form. They usually have most medicines, though not all, in liquid form. Check to see if the pills you take can be crushed, not all can be. Your doctor can advise you on this. I had trouble with my pills, and this is what I did.  Elisa
