Info on suppport groups!

I see that alot of you are friends an been know each other for some time now. I wanted to ask is the all the support groups are for post op? Or anybody is welcome. I ask the becuz alot of time I click on the support msg. It mostly just have time an place an date. Wasn't sure If I could just come an not be post op or part of a group. I live in the Monett area only been here for a yr now an still learnin my way but i would love to attend one soon an start making friends an gettin more support. I will admit I'm shy an it can take sumtime for me to talk but once I feel welcome I open up. So let me know when the next one for nov. And hopeful I be coming tellin all everyone I was approve! thanks

Barbara everyone is welcome to the groups...whether you have had surgery or not or just thinking about it and wanting information or already have a date or what. anyone and everyone is welcome to our groups...the next one in Springfield for the Circle of Friends is November 26th at the main library on south Campbell. we would love to have you there. There is also another group starting up and will be meeting the 5th of November but right off the top of my head i cant think of where it is going to be....watch the board for info on things. the Circle of Friends meeting starts at 6:30 Hope to see you there.  Jan

Another option to attend a support group is the St. John's Bariatric Surgery Program's New Beginnings Support Group. Our next meeting will be on Monday, November 12th, at the St. John's Surgery Center, Classroom 4B, 1229 E. Seminole, Springfield, Missouri. We meet from 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Our regular meetings are the second Monday of every month. This is the support group of Dr. Christopher Edwards, bariatric surgeon.

The New Beginnings Support Group is for weight loss surgery pre and post-op patients, their support members or anyone wanting to obtain information on weight loss surgery. We welcome pre-op patients, post-op patients (with any weight loss surgery procedure), family members, and the general public. You may be a part of our group regardless of where you have had your surgery, and you don't have to be a St. John's patient to attend. Everyone is invited!

the support group that jan was referring to will meet for the first time november 5th at 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 at the library station on north kansas expressway in the storyroom.  you are very welcome to attend we would love to have you.  i haven't had surgery either.  there will be others that haven't so feel free to come and make your self at home.
